Stampin’ Up! Season of Chic!

Hey there! Today I have a small group of special swap cards created with the Season of Chic bundle of stamps and dies, as well as the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Paper!

First, Janice Weightman used the Season of Chic stamp set with Texture Chic Specialty and Distressed Gold Specialty papers. She cut the two greeting layers with Deckled Rectangles Dies.

She added a single brass (which coordinates beautifully with the gold in the specialty paper) Flowers Trinket. The Pool Party-stamped greeting is also from Season of Chic.

Next, Melissa Thomas' card is perfect for displaying four of the 12 different prints in the Texture Chic Specialty paper pack!

From seashells to woodlands, you can find something from this pack of paper to coordinate with any of the images or sentiments in this collection! She cut the oak leaf from Copper Foil.

She has each season represented: summer (seashell), fall (oak leaf), winter (snowflake), and spring (blooms).

She stamped the Season of Chic sentiment with Evening Evergreen ink to stand out on the Crumb Cake card base.

Chris Wedell created her card with Petal Pink, Soft Suede, Basic White, and Texture Chic Specialty.

Another pretty Season of Chic sentiment on the inside.

Stampin’ Up! True Beauty!

Hey there! Today I have a couple of really pretty swaps to share with you created with the True Beauty Bundle!

For this soft & pretty card, Dena Rekow used the True Beauty stamp set with a color combo of So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party on Basic White with a card base of Crumb Cake.

Before she stamped anything, the used an Artistic Mix Decorative Mask and a Blending Brush to lightly add the stenciled design on diagonally on the right side. Sooo pretty and easy! She also used a sentiment from Cottage Rose, stamped with Tuxedo Black ink, and then used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to flick speckles lightly. She cut both white layers with the Deckled Rectangles Dies for a pretty, torn look without the tearing.

Sue Kempton Miiller also used the True Beauty stamp set, as well as the Organic Beauty dies that make up the True Beauty Bundle. I love the trellis/lattice looking die she used to cut the Basic White layer! She also used a couple of Stitched Rectangle Dies to create the Blackberry Bliss frame. The greeting is from the Charming Sentiment stamp set, cut with a Sentiment Silhouettes die.

The images in the True Beauty set have such a soft, watercolor look. Sue stamped the flower with Polished Pink, the leaves with Old Olive, and cut with Organic Beauty dies. She added a bit of Parakeet Party 1/8" Metallic Ribbon, then frayed the ends.

This card is a "w" fold!

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Prints from Stephanie!

Hey there! I'm sorry there was no blog post yesterday. Sunday night when I was working on my post the online service I use to add my watermark to my photos refused to work properly, so I took it as a sign that I needed to just go to bed, so I did! I was extra tired from a busy weekend of a stamping party on Friday night, a craft fair on Saturday, and the usual church and family dinner on Sunday. I even got to babysit for Scarlett for a couple of hours Sunday night! It was a weekend, but I was tired.

So today I'm starting a series of sharing some special swaps I have received over the past few months that I have been saving for just such a series! So expect to be wow'd over the next few days, ok?

The card I'm sharing today was created by my friend Stephanie Flath!

Stephanie used the Nature's Prints stamp set and an easy ink-dragging technique to give this card a unique look!

Stephanie started with a strip of Basic White, then used the open ink pad to drag some color on it. She started with Fresh Freesia on the left side, then dragged some Pool Party, then Old Olive, and finally Daffodil Delight. After she let the ink dry a few seconds she stamped the foliage spray with Tuxedo Black ink randomly.

She stamped the greeting from Nature's Prints with Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White, then stamped the same greeting again on a scrap of Daffodil Delight. She used Paper Snips to cut closely around just the "heartfelt" word on the Daffodil Delight, then added it to the full stamped greeting. She cut it out with a Stylish Shapes die, then added to her card with dimensionals. She added a couple of Pool Party Glossy Dots.

Before she added anything to the card front she used the splatter stamp included in Nature's Prints to add more interest to the bottom edge of the card, then added a Daffodil Delight Glossy Dot.

This technique and card layout would be perfect for many different types of cards! I'm going to use both in the near future!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 18th!

Stampin’ Up! Lights Aglow!

Hey there! Today I have a set of cards to share created with the Lights Aglow Suite of products found on pages 30-33 of the July/December Mini Catalog.

First, I have two different color versions of the same card, one with Soft Succulent and one with Cherry Cobbler! Which one do you like best?

These two cards combine heat embossing with gold powder with lots of fun die-cutting. The tree is embossed on Evening Evergreen card stock and cut with a Twinkling Lights die. The "pokie-holes" at the top with gold Glimmer specialty paper shining through was cut with a Labels Aglow die.

The tree is decorated with Festive Pearls! This pack of pearls are Cherry Cobbler, Soft Succulent, Silver, and Gold!

The greeting is stamped with a Brightest Glow image and cut with a Labels Aglow die. Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin Ribbon has been looped behind the greeting label before it is attached with dimensionals.

The Soft Succulent version:

The Stars Treat Bags are enhanced with a piece of the Glimmer Specialty paper adhered inside.

This card also uses the Star Treat Bag, but the bag has been cut apart to add a layer to the front! It makes a great background for the rest of the embellishments and the greeting.

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings Meets Hello Harvest!

Hey there! The card I'm sharing with you today is probably one of my most favorite I've created in a long time! It's not that I'm not pleased with the cards I create and share with you, I just really love how this one turned out! I used the Soft Seedlings stamp set and the Hello Harvest bundle from the July-December Mini catalog

One of the keys to this card is to stamp everything on the 4" x 5 1/4" Very Vanilla layer BEFORE embossing with the Leaf Fall 3D folder.

I started by inking the leaf/seedling image with Pumpkin Pie ink, then used the edge of the Cajun Craze ink pad to drag color around the edges. I breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink before stamping on the Very Vanilla layer. Without re-inking, I then breathed on the stamp again to stamp in the upper right corner of the layer.

I stamped the greeting from Soft Seedlings with Cajun Craze ink, then I put the layer inside the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. To make this folder work correctly you need the Specialty Plate to layer on top of the folder without a cutting plate beneath it to crank through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. I have included the gray Specialty Plate in the clickable supply list below.

The thing I love most about this card is the pumpkin! I used the same ink dragging technique on the leaf stamp again, then stamped on a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" square of Very Vanilla. I then stamped the pumpkin from Hello Harvest over the leaf with Cajun Craze and cut it with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin Die. I mounted it on the card front with a dimensional in each "corner" of the pumpkin, then stacked two dimensionals on top of each other in the center to give it a bit of a rounded look. The magic really happened for me when I decided to paint some Clear Wink of Stella over the pumpkin! It intensified the colors of the leaf, as well as gave it some shimmer!

I finished the card front with randomly placed Brushed Brass Butterflies and Champagne Rhinestones.

On the inside layer I repeated the ink-dragging technique to ink and stamp the leaves again, and then stamped another Soft Seedlings sentiment. I stamped the leaves on the Very Vanilla envelope too.

Stampin’ Up! Season of Chic Embossed Snowflakes!

Hey there! Today I have a card to share with you created with the Season of Chic Bundle. This set, found on page 99 of the Annual Catalog, is an all-purpose set, filled with images and phrases to fit multiple occasions. It is a perfect addition to your stamping stash!

I used this bundle to create an icy and sparkly Christmas card!

I started with a layer of Basic White, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I stamped it all over randomly with the snowflake found in the Season of Chic stamp set and Versamark ink, sprinkled the layer all over with white embossing powder and then heated with my Heat Tool. Next, I stamped the splatter stamp, also found in Season of Chic, between the snowflakes with Versamark, then repeated the embossing technique with white embossing powder. After the embossing cooled for a few seconds I then applies Balmy Blue ink with a Blending Brush, starting off the layer and swirling on the ink until I achieved the intensity of color I liked. I cut this layer with one of the largest Deckled Rectangle Dies.

I wrapped a length of White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding around the layer, tying in a bow with a piece of Tahitian Tide 1/8" Metallic Ribbon as a second bow before adding to the prepared Balmy Blue card base and Basic White mat layer. I added this top layer with dimensionals.
I also stamped the snowflake with Balmy Blue ink on a scrap of white, cut with the coordinating Chic die, then pressed the Versamark inkpad directly on the snowflake. I then sprinkled with Clear embossing powder to heat and give it a smooth raised finish. I repeated this step a couple more times to build up the embossing and make the embellishment a bit more sturdy. I punched a hole through the top of the snowflake with a retired 1/8" hand-held punch, then threaded the Tahitian Tide ribbon through before tying the final bow.

I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from Hope & Peace with Balmy Blue ink on a white scrap, stamped around it with the splatter stamp with stamped-off-once Balmy Blue ink, then cut with the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die. I added it to the lower card front with dimensionals and added a few random rhinestones for some sparkle.

Inside I stamped a couple more snowflakes with Balmy Blue ink, then added a sentiment from Season of Chic. I thought it was rather appropriate for a Christmas card or even a Christmastime birthday!

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings!

Hey there! Today I have a fall-ish card I created with the Soft Seedlings stamp set! I love fall card making! My favorite colors are the dark rich colors of fall, and I love creating cards with them. The colors I used today are Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Very Vanilla.

I used a super-easy technique to combine Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze on the leaves. I stamped the leaf and seeds with Pumpkin Pie, then dragged the Cajun Craze ink pad directly on the inked stamp before stamping on the Very Vanilla layer.

I accented the leaf and the greeting with Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I added 1/2" x 5 1/4" strips of Metallic & Shimmer 6 x 6" Specialty paper to the top & bottom of the vanilla strip before adding to the card front with dimensionals.

Inside I breathed on the leaf stamp to re-moisten the leftover ink to stamp in the opposite corners. The Cajun Craze stamped sentiment is also from Soft Seedlings.

I created a second version with a design added to the right side with one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush with Pumpkin Pie ink.

I think I probably should have used a lighter touch with my Blending Brush so the "hello" would show up a little more. I'll remember that next time I use the masks over a greeting.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but I embossed a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Soft Suede with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder for both cards. One card I left the embossed layer as it came out of the folder . . .

and the other card I used the Blending Brush to add Pumpkin Pie ink to make the raised design show up better. Can you tell which card is which? Which one do you prefer?

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day September 11th!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, which of course means it's time to share some swaps! We are going to my oldest daughter's church today to see our grandson, Jaxon, be baptized. We are so thankful he has decided to accept the Lord as his Savior and follow Him in obedience of being baptized!
