Stampin’ Up! Nuts About Squirrels!

Hey there! Today I am sharing a couple of cards I created with the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set. I saw a set of cards posted by Stampin' Up! online featuring this stamp set along with the Hello Harvest Bundle and Fancy Frames Dies and couldn't resist making a couple of my own versions!

For my first card I stamped the squirrel using the Stamparatus to get a good solid inking, then hand-cut it out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the pumpkin from Hello Harvest with Soft Succulent ink, then colored with the Light Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends alcohol marker. I added Light Crumb Cake to the pumpkin stem, then used the Stampin' Blends Color Lifter to remove some of the Soft Succulent ink in the center of the pumpkin.

After cutting out the pumpkin with a Rustic Pumpkin Die, I added it over the leafy rectangle I had cut with the Fancy Frames Dies and the Soft Suede leaf from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem pack. I used some of the Amber Gems too for some sparkle, and tucked a couple of Open Leaf Trinkets between the layers, securing with glue dots.

I added some subtle shimmer to the pumpkin with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I also highlighted the squirrel's eye with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

I stamped a greeting from Nuts About Squirrels with Cajun Craze ink on a scrap of Basic White, then used my Paper Snips again to cut banner points on each end.

The second card I created I cut the leafy rectangle from Soft Succulent, adding a layer of Adhesive Sheet to the back before running through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. When I removed the protective backing of the Adhesive Sheet the cut pieces mostly fell out with it and it was ready to adhere to the card front! I stamped the squirrel again with Cajun Craze ink and the Stamparatus, then cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies. This saved a lot of time and stress vs. hand-cutting with the snips.

Instead of using the Leaf Label & Amber Gems pack I stamped the leaf from the Hello Harvest stamp set with Soft Suede ink. I stamped again without re-inking, then cut them out with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin die. I added copper pearls from the Brushed Metallic Dots pack.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from Nuts About Squirrels and added a couple more leaves to tie in with the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings Birthday for Grace!

Hey there! Busy weekend again! Every year sometime before Christmas all of the "Payne Girls" (my daughters, teen granddaughters, and daughter-in-laws) go shopping together one Saturday. For a long time it was always after Thanksgiving, but a few years ago we started going before Thanksgiving, which actually works better for me as I can then get a better handle on my present-buying. When you are buying gifts for 25+ peeps, it takes a while to get it organized. I've figured out a good way to keep track, which involves putting Post-It Notes on gifts as I put them in my cart in the store and keeping a small notebook in my purse to keep track.

This year with Faith expecting Wesley the first of December she requested we go in October as she really didn't feel comfortable traveling over an hour from home and doctor so close to her due date, so we were glad to get to all go together on Saturday! I did get a good start on my shopping, so now if I can just keep going and get it all wrapped sooner rather than later! haha!

I realized I hadn't shared the card I made for Grace's birthday in September with you yet, so here it is!

I used the Soft Seedlings stamp set and Hello Harvest Bundle to create this fall-themed card with a birthday message.

For the front greeting I used a sentiment from Hello Harvest, stamped with Cajun Craze ink.

I used an inkpad-dragging technique to ink all of the leaves, starting by inking the leaf first with Pumpkin Pie, then dragging the edge of the Cajun Craze pad along the outside edges of the leaf. After stamping Very Vanilla with one of the leaves, I stamped the Hello Harvest pumpkin over with Cajun Craze ink, then cut with a Rustic Pumpkin die. As I added Clear Wink of Stella all over the pumpkin I found that the Wink of Stella solution slightly picked up the stamped Cajun Craze ink and moved it as I painted with the brush to give the pumpkin the all-over orange blush look! Wink of Stella also intensified the colors of the leaf.

I finished off the inside with the banner sentiment from Hello Harvest.

Stampin’ Up! Soft Seedlings Meets Hello Harvest!

Hey there! The card I'm sharing with you today is probably one of my most favorite I've created in a long time! It's not that I'm not pleased with the cards I create and share with you, I just really love how this one turned out! I used the Soft Seedlings stamp set and the Hello Harvest bundle from the July-December Mini catalog

One of the keys to this card is to stamp everything on the 4" x 5 1/4" Very Vanilla layer BEFORE embossing with the Leaf Fall 3D folder.

I started by inking the leaf/seedling image with Pumpkin Pie ink, then used the edge of the Cajun Craze ink pad to drag color around the edges. I breathed on the stamp to re-moisten the ink before stamping on the Very Vanilla layer. Without re-inking, I then breathed on the stamp again to stamp in the upper right corner of the layer.

I stamped the greeting from Soft Seedlings with Cajun Craze ink, then I put the layer inside the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. To make this folder work correctly you need the Specialty Plate to layer on top of the folder without a cutting plate beneath it to crank through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. I have included the gray Specialty Plate in the clickable supply list below.

The thing I love most about this card is the pumpkin! I used the same ink dragging technique on the leaf stamp again, then stamped on a 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" square of Very Vanilla. I then stamped the pumpkin from Hello Harvest over the leaf with Cajun Craze and cut it with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin Die. I mounted it on the card front with a dimensional in each "corner" of the pumpkin, then stacked two dimensionals on top of each other in the center to give it a bit of a rounded look. The magic really happened for me when I decided to paint some Clear Wink of Stella over the pumpkin! It intensified the colors of the leaf, as well as gave it some shimmer!

I finished the card front with randomly placed Brushed Brass Butterflies and Champagne Rhinestones.

On the inside layer I repeated the ink-dragging technique to ink and stamp the leaves again, and then stamped another Soft Seedlings sentiment. I stamped the leaves on the Very Vanilla envelope too.

Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest Bay Window Revised!

Hey there! Today I have re-do of a card I shared with you as a Sneak Peek from the July/December Mini Catalog with the Hello Harvest Bundle. If you want to see the original of this card, check out my post HERE.

The main difference between this card and the original is that instead of using the Rings of Love Sale-a-bration Designer Paper for the side panels I embossed strips of Soft Suede with the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder to continue the texture and pattern that I used on the center panel.

After I stamped the banner with Cajun Craze ink on Basic White I used a Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends marker to add an edge of color around it. Next I cut it out with the coordinating die from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies.

When I adhered the banner to the card front with dimensionals the stampin' blends border gives the illusion of another layer of card stock behind the banner. I also added Champagne Rhinestones for some sparkle.

I "stamped" the tall pumpkin with the same Rustic Pumpkin Die used to cut it out. I lightly pressed the die on my Soft Suede ink pad before carefully laying on a scrap of Basic White, then running through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine. I adhered to the card with Stampin' Seal and added a Copper Foil vine tendril with a glue dot.

The large pumpkin was stamped with Cajun Craze ink on Cajun Craze card stock, then cut with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin Die. I added another Copper Foil vine tendril with a glue dot, then adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Sneak Peek: Hello Harvest!

Hey there stamping friends! Today I have a Sneak Peek for you!

I created a "bay window" fold to share, created with the new Hello Harvest Bundle in the upcoming July-December Mini Catalog that goes live on July 1st!

This card displays new products that will be available to order on July 1st: Hello Harvest Bundle of stamps and dies, Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder, as well as a Sale-a-bration freebie, Rings of Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (a free product choice when you place a $50 order, also beginning on July 1st)

After stamping and cutting the pumpkins with Cajun Craze & Soft Suede ink (the Soft Suede/white pumpkin was created by inking the Rustic Pumpkins die with Soft Suede ink before running through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine), I adhered to the Fall Leaf 3D embossing folder embossed layer with dimensionals. I added die-cut vine tendrils of Copper Foil and Champagne Rhinestones for some sparkle.

I put the inside sentiment on the backside of the card.

Card base dimensions are: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 2", 3 1/8", 5 3/8", and 6 1/2"

The floating banner image in the Hello Harvest stamp set creates a natural second layer when cut with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkins die. I colored the edge with a Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends Marker to create the look of a Cajun Craze mat behind the greeting.

Here's the same card with the Basic White banner. Which one do you like best?

I used the oak leaf image from the Hello Harvest set to coordinate the envelope flap and front with the card, stamping the leaf three times before re-inking.
