Stampin’ Up! Festival of Trees Vellum Treat Bag!

Stampin’ Up! Festival of Trees Vellum Treat Bag!

Hey there! Today will be a busy day. They are finally shelling the corn here on our property so I'm making lunch for the "men", something easy to keep ready, as they will be in and out in shifts, so I'm making Taco Soup! yummy!

Today I have another treat bag for you, this time created with Gold Fancy Foil Vellum cardstock and the Festival of Trees Bundle:
Stampin_up_festival_of_trees_1
For those of you who have been wondering, the bag is 8 1/2" x 5", scored at 1/2", 3 1/4",4 1/2", and 7 1/4" up from  the long side, and then 1 1/4" up from the right end of the short side. I used a tutorial I found here to learn how.

After gold heat-embossing the tree, I punched it with the Tree Punch and then layered it over a 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punched from a Gold Foil Sheet. The gold-embossed greeting is also from Festival of Trees, punched with the Word Window Punch.

I tied the top of the bag together with a bit of Gold 1/8" Ribbon.

That's all for now! I will be sharing another little treat bag tomorrow, so come on by and check it out!

Here's your shopping list to create today's bag. You will find all these supplies to order in my Online Store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Tree Punch

Heat Tool

Stampin’ Up! Many Merry Stars Treat Bag!

Stampin’ Up! Many Merry Stars Treat Bag!

Hey there! It's a Liam Day today! He arrived a little after 7:30 a.m. in his jammies with his hood up on his coat as it was FREEZING-CHILLY-COLD here this morning!

Today I have another litte treat bag, this time using the Many Merry Stars stamp set from the Holiday Supplement, the Stars Framelits, and the Confetti Stars Punch:

Stampin_up_many_merry_stars_1

Pretty quick and easy! This little bag whips up really fast!

After silver heat-embossing the star image, I cut it out with a Star framelit, then cut out the next-size-larger star from Silver Foil paper. I backed the stars on the top edge, punched with the Confetti Stars punch, with Silver Foil paper too.

A rhinestone in the center of the star and the Word Window-punched greeting from Petite Pairs finishes it off perfectly!

Here's today's supply list. You will find everything you need in my Online Store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Heat Tool

$49.95

Stampin’ Up! Hexagon Hive and Nature’s Hello!

Stampin’ Up! Hexagon Hive and Nature’s Hello!

Hey there! I've been working on the dreaded taxes all day, but I had to switch to stamping after supper. I just couldn't stand it any more. I have a few more days until they have to go to the accountant, so I took a "stamping break"!

Quite often when I'm playing with a new product, I have more ideas than one card can hold, so if I have time I make another version. Such is the case with today's sample. I showed yesterday's and today's cards to my husband and his remark was, "they are the same . . . but different":

Stampin_up_natures_hello

Two of the main differences: I used the flower from Natures Hello instead of Secret Garden, and I used a different piece of Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper behind the Hexagon Hive Thinlet. I stamped the Hardwood on the Hexagon Hive with Crumb Cake ink on the Sahara Sand. It gives it the look of old weathered barn siding.

Stampin_up_lovely_romance

I used a sentiment from Lovely Romance for the inside. I did not re-ink the Hardwood background before stamping on the inside layer. I just "huffed" on the stamp to re-moisten the ink before stamping. It gives it just a hint of the hardwood look but doesn't compete with the sentiment.

Here's yesterday's sample side by side with todays:

Stampin_up_hexagon_hive_two

Which one do you like the best? Leave me a comment, I really want to know!

Here's a supplies needed to make this card. Just click on any of the highlighted products below to go directly to my Online Store to order:

Stampin’ Up! Desktop Calendar Display!

Stampin’ Up! Desktop Calendar Display!

Hello! Today I want to share with you a product from the Annual Catalog no one seems to notice or know about. I call it a "sleeper" product, because it is a gem worth noticing! It is the Desktop Calendar Display:

Desktop calendar card holder 1

Located on page 194 of the Annual Catalog, this gem is designed and intended to "display a cute calendar or other project on your desk". I'm going to use them for display at my events because they hold the card securely, yet leaving it accessible to remove to inspect and view the inside.

Desktop calendar card holder 2
The case will stay upright due to the "flip-back" design of the cover to create the wide base for the display.

I have tried several other types of stands, clips, and what-not to display my cards over the years, each with it's own unique challenges: the stand falls over easily, the card falls off (usually onto an open ink pad!), or the clips used leave dents in the card, making it unacceptable to send to anyone later.

But here's the winning benefit of using these display cases for my cards:

Desktop calendar card holder 3
I can close each case with the card inside, protecting it during transport and storage! I see myself ordering SEVERAL of these in the near future! yay!

The item code  for the Desktop Calendar Display is #127033, $1.95 each. These would be perfect to include with a snapshot gift for relatives this coming holiday season. A frame that doubles as the gift box AND storage! Cool!

Well, I need to get busy with some paper-cutting for the Nancy fundraiser this Friday!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
