Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Stamp Sets I’ve Resisted!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Stamp Sets I’ve Resisted!

Hey there! How did you like the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop yesterday? Our theme was Babies, and if you haven't taken it yet, you can go back to yesterday's post HERE,  to hop through all 13 blogs. You will end up back here so you won't forget check out today's swaps, o.k?

First, Ruth Bingle created a bright and cheery card with the new Annual Catalog set, Gift from the Garden:

Stampin_up_gift_from_the_garden

I loved this set the first time I saw it in the catalog, but have been resisting ordering it ever since. This card makes it harder and harder!

Why resist? I'm not really sure, except there are so many great sets in both the Annual and Holiday Catalog that I know there's no way I have enough time in my life to stamp with them all! You've heard the saying, "so many stamps, so little time"? That's me! lol!

Next, Audra Moncur used another set I've been resisting, Wild About Flowers!

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers

Audra used a classic color combo: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, and Whisper White with just a touch of Pear Pizzazz for the flower stems.

Finally, Carol Slack's creation uses another oft-resisted set, Heartfelt Sympathy:

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy_2

I love her color combo of Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White!

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy

Here's the stamp supply list for these three cards. If you can't resist these sets, and after this post I'm finding it almost impossible to hold out much longer, you are welcome to order your favorites from my online store:

Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail Meets Awesomely Artistic!

Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail Meets Awesomely Artistic!

Hey there! I'm getting REALLY close to finishing all of the projects for the Birthday Card Buffet next weekend! Today's card is another from the pile:

Stampin_up_swallowtail_1 - Copy

I combined the Swallowtail background with Awesomely Artistic!

The Soft Suede card base is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

The Very Vanilla card body is 4 1/8" x 10 3/4", scored at 5 3/8".

My ink colors are Pool Party and Soft Suede.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_2 - Copy

Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine coordinates beautifully with the Pool Party-stamped Swallowtail. Sponging with Soft Suede and stamped-off water splotches lends a vintage feel.

Stampin_up_swallowtail_3 - Copy

Inside I used a phrase from Banner Blessings and a "happy birthday" from And Many More along with Awesomely Artistic.

This card is a mix of red-rubber wood-mounted stamps and photopolymer. You can barely tell that I re-stamped the "FRIEND . . ." phrase twice. Only with close-up inspection can you see a slight blur on the Proverbs 17:17 reference. Because it is photopolymer you can re-stamp if you need to!

Stampin’ Up! Sassy Birthday Salutations!

Stampin’ Up! Sassy Birthday Salutations!

Hey there! I'm working on the projects for my next Birthday Card Buffet, so today I have a birthday card for you!

I started with the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper stack, using the Balloon Framelits to cut three balloons. I used the colors in the center balloon paper to determine the card stock and ink colors to use.

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations_1 - Copy

The card base is Cucumber Crush with a layer of Soft Sky embossed with the Polka Dot folder.

The cute little bows at the base of each balloon are cut with the bow framelit from the balloon set, and the Sassy Salutations "Happy Birthday" banner is punched with the Banner Triple Punch.

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations_2 - Copy

Inside I used phrases from Remembering Your Birthday and the balloon stamp from Age Awareness.

This was a quick and easy card to put together. You can use the supply list below to help you decide what to order in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ up! Sleigh Ride Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ up! Sleigh Ride Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Today I have a Sneak Peek from the Holiday Catalog! Stampin' Up! allowed convention attendees to pre-pre-order a select group of products. Yay!

I took these pics of samples the Stampin' Up! Concept Artists had created with Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way stamp set:

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_12

The Sleigh Ride Edgelits cut a row of pine trees, a sleepy little winter village, and a horse and sleigh!

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_9

Here's my creation:

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_edgelits_1 - Copy

I used the new Happy Season set I received at the CentreStage Leadership part of Convention.

Tip: If you use vellum for one of the layers like I did for the trees on the hill, you will want to sandwich them between two layers so your adhesive doesn't show.

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_edgelits_2 - Copy

Another tip: Be sure the die is entirely on the Cutting Plate. Don't let any of it hang off the edge. If it does hang off, it's could either bend or break.

I didn't use waxed paper or a dryer sheet to cut the edgelits, I just cranked them back and forth a couple of times, then used the smallest tip of my Simply Scored Stylus to poke out the little bitty pieces.

Stampin' Up! is also introducing the Precision Cutting Plate in the Holiday Catalog. It will cut using our framelits and edgelits WITHOUT needing to use waxed paper or dryer sheets! Can you say AWESOME?!?

I embossed the Whisper White layer with my new Softly Falling Textured Impressions Folder. I left the horse and sleigh stick out of the folder:

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_edgelits_3 - Copy

Inside, I used the Holly Jolly Greetings set I received from Prize Patrol:

Stampin_up_sleigh_ride_edgelits_4 - Copy

Sorry, I don't know why this pic is a little fuzzy!

That's all for now. You can't order these products until September 1st, so there's no Product Shopping List,

However, you can still shop in my online store: carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Convention Day 1 A Cupcake Party!

Stampin’ Up! Convention Day 1 A Cupcake Party!

Hey there! How about some Convention highlights? I will start out with some personal pics, then share one of my favorite card samples at the end!

Upon entering the Salt Palace we were greeted by a giant banner proclaiming the  2015 Convention theme: Inspire Create Share.

Inspire create share 2015

One thing I value most about Stampin' Up! events is the chance to make new friends and catch up with old ones. I met Brandy Cox, Stampin' Up! top demonstrator in sales (over 300K!) at the Founder's Circle Retreat last fall. It was great to get a chance to congratulate her success!

Stampin' Up! events include Prize Patrol. I was lucky to win this set from the Holiday Catalog, Holly Jolly Greetings!

Awards Night on Thursday night began with a resounding Charleston to set the Roaring 20's mood!

Inspire create share 2015 awards night

Everyone was encouraged to put on their best 20's costume, resulting in a few "twins", and in this case "triplets"! In the center is my dear downline, Martha Swift, posing with her look-a-likes!

Pam Morgan is one of my dearest friends from the Corporate Team. I always make sure to chat with her at every event.

Stampin’ Up! Definitely Dahlia Convention Gifts!

Stampin’ Up! Definitely Dahlia Convention Gifts!

Hey there. Today I want to show you the gifts I gave my team members that attended convention with me. I purchased a Double Duty Caddy for each, then added a personalized tag. These bags make great card swapping bags:

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_1

Are you surprised that I used the Definitely Dahlia background stamp for my tags? I stamped them with Calypso Coral ink on the Whisper White. This one is for one of my first level team members, Joanne Cantrell.

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_2

I curved all the corners with the corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board. This one is for my second level team member, Martha Swift.

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_3

I cut the initials with the Little Letters Framelits Dies.

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_4

Of course I made one for myself too. I tied each tag to the caddy with a length of 3/8" Whisper White Striped Satin ribbon.

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_6

The regular handheld punches would not cut through the 3 layers of the tag, so I ended up using the flower framelit from the Baby's First Framelit Dies. As long as I made sure there wasn't any adhesive under the area I wanted to cut the framelit cut through the three layers like butter!

Stampin_up_definitely_dahlia_7

I finished off the centers with a 7/8" Scallop Circle punched from White Corrugated Paper and a Silver-Rimmed Pearl.

That's it! To place your order for stampin' supplies, just go to my online store:
