Stampin’ Up! Do You Know Your Greens?

Stampin’ Up! Do You Know Your Greens?

Hey there! Just a quick post tonight. I've been playing "catch-up" all day, after spending TOO MUCH time on those dreaded taxes, hence the lack of a blog post until now. And since I've been "catching up", that also means I've not had a chance to create anything new. Sorry!

Since there's nothing "new" to share today, and since with this latest deep freeze we are in right now, I thought you might like to see something GREEN!

One of my stampers recently needed to decide on a green for an event she was preparing for, so I stamped this so she could see all of the Stampin' Up! greens side-by-side:

Using the leafy stamp from the free Sale-a-bration set, Petal Parade, I started with Pistachio Pudding and worked my way through all 7 Stampin' Up! greens until I ended with Always Artichoke.  I thought they actually look quite lovely together. What do you think?

What color did my stamper choose for her project? She chose Garden Green!

Which Stampin' Up! green is your favorite?

That's all for now. Friday is the last day of February. February is always such a short month. Maybe God gave us a short month to help it seem like spring is coming faster. We can always hope!

Here's the card I promised to show you yesterday. I merged the giftcard layout from yesterday's post with elements from this cruise swap by Mary Robinson:

I LOVED how the Square Lattice embossing folder gives a "grass thatch" look to the kraft cardstock, especially when it is sponged with a little Soft Suede! I took this concept and merged it with the giftcardholder card layout and came up with this:

Pretty neat, huh! I am pretty pleased with the result. I change up the focal point a bit by using the Scalloped Circle #2 Bigz Die for the Garden Green scalloped circle (a color that is retiring but will be replaced by the return of past In-Color "Wild Wasabi" in the new IB&C on July 1st!) and used the Circles Die for the Whisper White stamping piece.

Here's the inside:

Pretty neat! In the past I've done lots of almost exact CASEing of cards I've received in swaps and from my web surfing, but lately I've been challenging myself to stamp more originally, and even though this card does have elements of the original inspiration, I feel I've changed it up enough to make it my own, what do you think?

Let's try something, shall we? Everyone who leaves a comment on this card from now until Friday May 21st  will have their name put in a drawing to receive this card, including a coordinating envelope ready for you to use! I would love to hear from more of you, I know you're out there!

Until tomorrow, have a STAMPIN' ROX DAY!
