Stampin’ Up! Count My Blessings with Fun Foam!

Stampin’ Up! Count My Blessings with Fun Foam!

Hey there! I've been re-visiting another oldie-but-goodie-technique, Heat Stamping on Fun Foam!

Stampin_up_count_my_blessings_carolpaynestamps5

How do you heat stamp? What is Fun Foam?

First, Fun Foam is a spongy sheet 1/8" – 1/4" thick found at craft stores. I bought a beige 12" x 18" sheet for 89 cents! I can cut a bunch of squares, rectangles, and strips!

To heat stamp on fun foam: Heat with your Heat Tool until the foam gets a little wet-looking and starts to curl. This doesn't take very long! As soon as the foam is heated, press an inked red-rubber stamp into the foam. Hold in place for a few seconds. Remove and voila! You have heat stamped the Fun Foam!

NOTE: Red-rubber stamps work best because they are more deeply-etched than photopolymer.

For my card I started with an Early Espresso card base,  then added a Crumb Cake layer embossed with the Pinewood Plank Dynamic Folder inked with Crumb Cake.  I added strips of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, than the Fun Foam square  I had cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelit, heated with the Heat Tool and stamped with a Count My Blessings image inked with Early Espresso. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso  before adhering to the card with a Stampin' Dimensionals in each corner.

Stampin_up_count_my_blessings_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped a Butterfly Basics greeting and finished with a single Gold Faceted Gem.

Stampin_up_count_my_blessings_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped inside with a Count My Blessings sentiment, stamped-off acorns, and Early Espresso sponging. I covered the Very Vanilla envelope flap with the fabulous acorn pattern from the Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper!

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here at Hearth & Home!

Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here at Hearth & Home!

Hey there! Later today the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop will start hopping with a Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper theme. While working on my creation for the hop, I made these two cards with the Hearth & Home Thinlets, Cat Punch, and Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. Even though these weren't my first pick, I LOVE how they turned out!

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps1

Starting with a Crumb Cake card base, I added Early Espresso embossed with the Brick Wall Folder, followed by a Crumb Cake window cut with the Hearth & Home Thinlets. Behind the windowpanes I added a rectangle of Painted Autumn Designer Paper.

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps2

My favorite part of the card is the kitty punched from the dotted Pumpkin Pie design in the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper pack.  After adding a collar around the kitty's neck with a Burlap Trim thread, I finished with a greeting from Sitting Here, punched with the Classic Label punch and adhered with dimensionals.

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps3

The inside sentiment is also from Sitting Here.

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps4

My second card has a bit more fall-ish with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper behind the window.

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps5

Each kitty you punch will be a little different because of the watercolored look of the design.

Stampin_up_cat_punch_carolpaynestamps

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps7

The Sitting Here phrase actually is a bit longer, but I punched exactly what I needed with the Classic Label Punch!

Stampin_up_classic_label_carolpaynestamps

I inked the kitty from Sitting Here with Peekaboo Peach, then rock-n-rolled one edge with Pumpkin Pie. I used a Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends around the kitty. (Currently Stampin' Blends are only available for demonstrators to pre-order or add to their Demonstrator Starter Kit, but sometime in the next couple of months will be available for you to order too!)

Stampin_up_sitting_here_carolpaynestamps9

How do you like my runner-up cards? Come back later today or tomorrow to see the first-place winners and take the hop!

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917SK Polished Stone Leaves!

Stampin’ Up! CCREW917SK Polished Stone Leaves!

Hey there! Today I am sharing my final project for the September Creative Crew Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. For this card, we were to use the Fall theme and this sketch for our inspiration:

Quilt_59a005a8794692f91addc1dcb1b4db874c98f64b

With a sketch you can follow it literally, using four squares arranged just as shown, or you can use another shape or whatever and go with the inspiration. I chose the later way to create my card:

Stampin_up_colorful_season_label_me_pretty_carolpaynestamps1

I used the Polished Stone technique from my previous post here.

After stamping the leaf from Colorful Seasons with Early Espresso ink, I stamped a Label Me Pretty  sentiment on a plain area, then cut with a Seasonal Layers Thinlet. I arranged them to resemble the sketch over a Soft Suede layer I embossed with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Stampin_up_colorful_seasons_label_me_pretty_carolpaynestamps3

I stamped the inside with a Better Together sentiment and added another polished stone leaf.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Swappin’ With the Mams!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Swappin’ With the Mams!

Hey there! Today I’m sharing cards from our Yes Mam! Stamper’s Shoebox Swap! For a shoebox swap we bring all of the supplies in a “shoebox”  and then stamp each other’s creations!

First, Angela Black featured the Lemon Zest  set. She used Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Black, and Whisper White for a citrus-y look. The Lemon Zest set is also bundled with the Lemon Builder Punch. We didn’t use it on this card, be we did on the next one!

Stampin_up_lemon_zest_carolpaynestamps1

Next, Linda Reaney's creation feastured Daisy Delight Bundle. She used the leaf stamp from Lemon Zest and the Lemon Builder Punch to add leaves behind the flower! Punches are a quick and easy way to add depth and texture to your cards.

Stampin_up_daisy_delight_carolpaynestamps1

Angie Lisk  used the Wood Textures Suite. The Bermuda Bay-stamped rooster is cut out with a circle and a square Stitched Shapes framelit,

Stampin_up_wood_words_carolpaynestamps1

Cathy Lingle's seascape with Colorful Seasons, Seaside Textured folder, and a beach umbrella fashioned from a Delicate White Doily! LOVE her addition of burlap ribbon for the “sand”!

Stampin_up_colorful_seasons_carolpaynestamps1

Kari Dillingham used the Petal Garden designer paper with the Floral Statements stamps. It was easy to color with markers and watercolor pencils because the shading is included in the stamped image!

Stampin_up_floral_statements_carolpaynestamps1

Katie Wolters used Pocketful of Sunshine Bundle. I love everything about her card!

Stampin_up_pocketful_of_sunshine_carolpaynestamps1

Martha Swift used the Climbing Orchid Bundle for her charming double-door card:
