Stampin’ Up! Catalog Year In Review!

Hey there! Since the new catalog starts on Wednesday (only five more sleeps!) and the Retiring List of Stamps and Accessories still has quite a bit of fun stuff available, I thought we'd  take a walk down memory lane to see some favorites from the past year!

The Build a Birthday stamp set will be in the new catalog, but Cherry on Top paper and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, with the flower punch used on this card, are retiring and still orderable!

You can view the full post with another Build a Birthday sample HERE.

My final favorite for today uses Serene Silhouettes, Summer Silhouettes, and World of Dreams, ALL THREE RETIRING! View the original post HERE.

The clear mount version of World of Dreams is sold out, but all the rest are still available!

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Palette Rip and Flip!

Stampin’ Up! Painter’s Palette Rip and Flip!

Hey there! I found a great little card created by one of my sister Mediterranean Achiever's blog hoppers, Georgia Giguere, It's a simple technique called "Rip and Flip". To view her technique video and take the the hop, click on her name. This was our Mam's Team Meeting Make & Take Monday night!

Stampin_up_painters_palette_rip_and_flip_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

We used the same print from the Painter's Palette Designer Series Paper Stack for our rip & flip, but this technique will work with just about any designer paper that you love the prints on both sides!

Stampin_up_painters_palette_rip_and_flip_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

A couple of slight differences, not necessarily improvements, but just differences of my card: I used a slightly larger pair of  Layering Squares Framelit dies to cut and frame the greeting, added a few more splashes of color to the greeting, and used a piece of Painter's Palette Designer Washi Tape over the the line where the two layers meet. I love using coordinating products when I can!

Stampin_up_painters_palette_rip_and_flip_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

Inside we stamped more Painter's Palette  with the same inks used on the outside greeting: Archival Basic Black, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy, and Peekaboo Peach. All of these colors, plus the Painter's Palette stamp set and the Layering Squares Framelits, will be available to order on June 1st, which is only FIVE sleeps away! yay!

Stampin_up_painters_palette_rip_and_flip_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Of course, I had to stamp the Very Vanilla envelope, which is the neutral color in the Painter's Palette paper, to match the card!

While you are waiting to start ordering from the new catalog, be sure to check out what's still orderable from the Retiring List! You can find it in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise Uneven Fold Card!

Stampin’ Up! Pop of Paradise Uneven Fold Card!

Hey there! I played with a new (to me) fun fold I'd been seeing online, so I decided to try one! The Pop of Paradise stamps and Pop of Pink Specialty Paper was still on my crafting desk, so I used them again to create this uneven fold card:
Stampin_up_pop_of_paradise_uneven_fold_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

This card gives you lots of sections to embellish; with plenty of room for  sentiments!

Card base dimensions: 5 1/2" x 11", scored at 1 1/2", 3", 5 1/2", and 8". Fold accordian-style (Mountain, Valley, Mountain, Valley).

Designer paper and card stock layers dimensions: 1 1/4" x 5 1/4"- need two,  2 1/4" x 5 1/4" – need two, 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" – need one

Stampin_up_pop_of_paradise_uneven_fold_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

I gold-heat embossed the pineapple, then hand-cut it with Paper Snips. Did you know? If you leave a little bit of card stock bordering the image it  will look much smoother and even than if you cut flush with the image and don't leave a border. The border allows your eye to ignore imperfections in the cut edge! Pretty cool!

Stampin_up_pop_of_paradise_uneven_fold_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I stamped "happy birthday to you" from Circle of Spring with Melon Mambo ink to make it "pop" against all of the gold embossing and black I've used. I gold heat-embossed the "thinking of you" from Pop of Paradise, then cut with one of the new Sweet & Sassy Framelits.

Stampin_up_pop_of_paradise_uneven_fold_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

I love stamping, embossing, and cutting out the flamingo, she's just so CUTE!!!! I used two sentiments from the new Love & Affection set to finish off the final card sections.

When folded, the card will easily fit inside a Medium Whisper White envelope, which has been stamped to match the card, of course!

Just 6 more sleeps until the new catalog! Haven't checked out the Retiring List yet? You can easily find it in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Masked Painter’s Palette!

Stampin’ Up! Masked Painter’s Palette!

Hey there! We had a lovely Sunday afternoon yesterday! After grilling hamburgers, the family hung out on our front porch and played games while the kiddos played in the yard and  sandbox my husband had built. It's so relaxing to watch little ones wander around in the yard, dabble on the swings, and scoop sand.  A wonderful day!

Today I have another card created with Painter's Palette and Love & Affection stamp sets. It was my "warm up" to the easel blog hop card last week. Click THIS LINK to check it out and take the hop!

I started by stamping the easel from Painter's Palette with Archival Basic Black ink on a 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White:

Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps2 - Copy

Now, just imagine that I stamped the easel again on a Post-it note, cut out the square, then put it over the stamped "canvas" on the easel. (I apparently forgot to take a picture of this step, sorry. Ever get so excited that you get ahead of yourself? That's what happened with this card!)

Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps3 - Copy

I stamped the brush strokes with Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach with the mask over the canvas, then stamped leaves and splatters with Pear Pizzazz.

After removing the mask I stamped Archival basic Black flowers and tiny blooms inside the flowers with Flirty Flamingo or Peekaboo Peach. I filled the canvas with the phrase from Painter's Palette and more little blooms.

This technique really makes the easel on this completely flat card really stand out!

Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps1 - Copy

Inside I followed up with another Painter's Palette phrase and more stamping to coordinate with the card front.

Stampin_up_painters_palette_carolpaynestamps4 - Copy

Pretty easy-peasey!

Just 9 more sleeps until June 1st!. Which also means only 8 more sleeps left to order from the Occasions Catalog and the Retiring List!

Check out what's still available (some at a discount) to order in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

DON'T FORGET THAT CARD STOCK PRICES INCREASE ON JUNE FIRST! Be sure to order your favs and must-haves before the prices go up!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, which means church and time to share some swaps! yay!

Most of today's swaps I received at OnStage Live in Salt Lake City in April, and unless I note the creator, I don't know who they are.

First, a bright and cheery creation using the Occasions Catalog set, Apple of My Eye. It's hard to see in the picture, but each fruit slice has been embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (which has now sold out from the Retiring List)

Stampin_up_apple_of_my_eye

Next, a combination of Whisper White, Mint Macaron, a Bold Butterfly and Butterflies Framelit, and the retiring Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and And Many More stamp set:

Stampin_up_and_many_more

This swap using the Wild About Flowers set, Brick Wall folder, and Greatest Greeting set are ALL carrying over to the new catalog! yay!

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers

Finally, Carol Slack used the Sassy Salutations set with the Confetti Textured Impressions Folder along with a bit of Punch Art for her graduation card:

Stampin_up_sassy_salutations1

Carol used the streamer image from Celebrate Today to create the graduation tassel. She attached it to the grad cap with a retiring Silver 1/8" brad.

Inside Carol used a phrase from the retiring Fabulous Four set:

Stampin_up_fabulous_four

Just a little over a week left of the Retiring List! Review the list and make your selections by ordering in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop in New In Colors!

Hey there! Today I have a pretty bunch of cards to share with you today, all created with the Flower Shop and Rose Wonder stamp sets, Whisper White card stock, White Organza Ribbon, and the 2016/18 new In Colors! Yes, it's time to get to know them!

Let's start off with my favorite new color, Flirty Flamingo!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps7

I stamped full-strength and then stamped again without re-inking for this one! An easy technique that doesn't require a lot of extra supplies!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps8

I tied the ribbon into a knot before wrapping around the card front and securing on the back side of the Flirty Flamingo layer with SNAIL.

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps9

All of these cards have a bloom from the Flower Shop set punched with the Pansy Punch, then a coordinating Petite Petals-punched  bloom in the center.  I finished off the centers with a White Perfect Accent.

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps10

Isaiah 41:10 is one of my favorite Bible verses!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps11

Dapper Denim is another pretty new In Color!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps12

The phrases in the Rose Wonder set are so versatile, they can be used on card fronts and inside!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps1

Sweet Sugarplum is a bright and "plummy" color!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_ carolpaynestamps2

Peekaboo Peach!

Stampin_up_flower_shop_carolpaynestamps3
