Stampin’ Up! Season Like Christmas Simple and Stepped-Up!

Stampin’ Up! Season Like Christmas Simple and Stepped-Up!

Hey there! One of the great things about going to an event like Vacation Stamping School is getting to see (and take pics) of all of the great ideas on display! Today's cards were created with the Season Like Christmas stand-alone set (no punches or dies to accompany it, gasp!)

First, a very simple-stamping card with Garden Green, Real Red, Whisper White, Early Espresso, and Daffodil Delight. Cut with a Layering Oval Framelit, this would be a great card to mass-produce; all it needs is a greeting!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

Next, this card used the same colors as the first, but using a Stamping Sponge to add depth to the edges of the layers takes it up a notch. Again, a good mass-production card!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

This card from the Card Contest has more layers (Lemon Lime Twist and Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper), a sentiment from Ready for Christmas, and Embossing Paste added for "snow"! I love the addition of the tiny deer from the Carols of Christmas Bundle!

Finally, here's my recently shared creation with this set. You can view the post with all of the info HERE.

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Quilt!

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Quilt!

Hey there! The very first stamp set you can order from the Holiday Catalog is  Christmas Quilt on page 5. As soon as I opened the catalog I knew this set would be on my first order! In fact, I ordered the entire Quilted Christmas Suite!

My card today uses the Christmas Quilt stamps and the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder:

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_first_carolpaynestamps1

This is a very quick and easy card, perfect for making multiples for Christmas mailing! I used the basic Christmas color scheme of Garden Green, Real Red, and Whisper White for my creation. It works!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_first_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped "peace" with Real Red ink on the Whisper White layer before I embossed with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Folder. I love the deep dotted/quilted impression the folder makes. Really looks like a quilt top!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps5

I also created a slightly stepped-up version by adding a tiny wooden star from the Hearts & Stars Elements with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps

Inside of both is stamped with another Christmas Quilt sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Mam’s Meeting Displays Christmas Quilt!

Stampin’ Up! Mam’s Meeting Displays Christmas Quilt!

Hey there! We had lots of sharing with displays brought by several of the Mam's at our meeting on Monday. Today I'm sharing cards created by Tina Biby using the Quilted Christmas suite of products from the very first pages of the Holiday Catalog!

Stampin_up_ready_for_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps1

Tina used a pack of Quilted Christmas 6×6" Designer Series Paper to create her cards. The colors in the paper are Real Red, Garden Green, Blushing Bride, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, and Whisper White.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps2

She used a Stitched Shapes oval framelit to cut out the greeting for this card. These adorable little felt trees, stars, and holly sprigs are from a pack of Stitched Felt Embellishments, found in the Quilted Christmas Suite on page 4 and 5 of the Holiday Catalog.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps3

There are 15 Stitched Felt Embellishments in each package, 5 each of the three designs.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps4

Tina used a simple basic layout, Real Red, Whisper White, and Garden Green card stock, and the Quilted Christmas 6×6" Designer Series Paper stack to create a bunch of cards really quickly!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps5

There are 12 different double-sided designs in the Quilted Christmas paper stack, so you have lots of choices to mix & match!

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps6

Tina also had a couple of cards created with the Ready for Christmas bundle, found next-door to the Quilted Christmas Suite on pages 6 and 7 of the Holiday Catalog! She used a piece of Quilted Christmas Designer Paper for the background for the tree and cut out ornaments from Gold Foil with Christmas Staircase Thinlets Dies.

Stampin_up_ready_for_christmas_carolpaynestamps8

These two cards are "wall-worthy", works of art perfect for framing as a Christmas decoration to bring out year after year!

Stampin’ Up! Yes Mam! Stampers Holiday Catalog Shoebox Swap!

Stampin’ Up! Yes Mam! Stampers Holiday Catalog Shoebox Swap!

Hey there! A few of my Stampin' Up! team of demonstrators, the Yes Mam! Stampers, gathered together last night for our monthly meeting. This month we had a Shoebox Swap, which means we each designed a card, cut enough supplies for everyone at the meeting to make it, and at the meeting everyone made each other's cards!

First, Cathy Lingle used the Sneak Peek bundle, Carols of Christmas for her card. There were actually two color combos for this card; the other one was Real Red and Garden Green. I love that little deer! I would probably never fuss with hand-cutting it out, but it's so easy with the die from the Card Front Builder Thinlets!

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps
Next, Tina Biby used the Christmas Quilt set, Christmas Quilt 6×6" Designer Series Paper, Quilted Christmas 1/4" Ribbon, and Stitched Felt Embellishments. Copper heat embossing really makes this card pop! The background trees are cut from the designer series paper.

Stampin_up_christmas_quilt_carolpaynestamps2

Angela Black used the Quilted Christmas 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper stack with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create a Christmas/birthday card featuring a Happy Birthday Gorgeous greeting punched with the new Everyday Label Punch!

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gprgeous_carolpaynestamps

Joanne Cantrell combined Silver heat-embossing with the Snowflake Sentiments set with the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets Dies for her easy card. We adhered the intricately beautiful Silver Foil border with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and added Silver Metallic-Edged Ribbon tied in a bow.

Stampin_up_snowflake_sentiments_carolpaynestamps

Finally, Angie Lisk  demonstrated for us the Shutter Card Fold, and then we made her swap with the same technique! Angie used the Painted Harvest set with Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. I love fall color!

Stampin_up_painted_harvest_carolpaynestamps1

I've been dying to learn this fold! It's one of those "looks impressively hard but is actually really easy" techniques. You'll be seeing me use this one again!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Slider!

Stampin’ Up! Night in Bethlehem Slider!

Hey there! Another of my favorite projects I shared with Vacation Stamping School were these two slider cards I created with the Night in Bethlehem set:

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps1

First I created this Versamark Resist version. To do the Versamark Resist technique, I stamped the "milky way" stars image from Star of Light and the Nativity star from Night in Bethlehem with Versamark on glossy card stock. I then used a Sponge Brayer to roll first Soft Sky and then Night of Navy over the stamped images. After I got the color intensity I wanted I then rubbed the images gently with a Kleenex to remove the excess ink. The Versamark "resisted" the ink, leaving soft star images.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps2
For my "stepped-up" version I heat embossed the same images on glossy card stock with white and silver embossing powder before brayering the same Soft Sky/Night of Navy colors over them. After rubbing away the excess ink with a Kleenex I then sponged the edges with Basic Black ink. I mounted the piece on Basic Black, then added it to a Basic Black/Merry Music Specialty Paper layer that I punched with the Classic Label Punch to create the slider opening.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps5
I stamped the "milky way" image with stamped-off Night of Navy ink and then stamped the Night in Bethlehem sentiment with Basic Black ink on a 2" x 4 1/2" strip that I punched one end with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create the end to attach the ribbon pull.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps6
I added a 1/4" wide strip to both sides of the other end of the tag to create a "stop" so the tag won't fall out of the opening.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps7

I finished off the tag with Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edged Ribbon for the pull.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_slider_carolpaynestamps8

Inside I finished with the Star of Light "milky way" and Night in Bethlehem images:

Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Night in Bethlehem!

Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Night in Bethlehem!

Hey there! The Night in Bethlehem set gave me lots of room to create! After my "warm up" Tranquil Tide cards I shared yesterday, I moved on to Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Gold for my color palette. I heat embossed the star with gold powder in the upper left corner, making sure I rubbed the card stock with my Embossing Buddy first to remove static and oils.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps1

Sponging is an easy way to add depth and texture to your creation. The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog was perfect for this card, but it is Whisper White-based, not vanilla, so I sponged the edges with Soft Suede and very lightly sponge brayered with Crumb Cake. (In real life it looks more aged and yellowed than it does here.)

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps2

I gold-embossed the greeting on a strip of Very Vanilla that I used Paper Snips to cut banner points on one end. I added a wrap of Linen Thread to finish.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used more Night in Bethlehem images, gold-embossing the sentiment and stars. I stamped the Bethlehem skyline with Early Espresso, and sponged the edges with Soft Suede.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_gold_carolpaynestamps

This set may be my favorite in the whole Holiday Catalog!

Night in Bethlehem and the Merry Music Specialty Designer Paper will be available to order on September 1st. To  check out the updated Clearance Rack and to order Stampin' Up! today, go to my online store: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps
