Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Night in Bethlehem!

Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso Night in Bethlehem!

Hey there! The Night in Bethlehem set gave me lots of room to create! After my "warm up" Tranquil Tide cards I shared yesterday, I moved on to Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Gold for my color palette. I heat embossed the star with gold powder in the upper left corner, making sure I rubbed the card stock with my Embossing Buddy first to remove static and oils.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps1

Sponging is an easy way to add depth and texture to your creation. The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog was perfect for this card, but it is Whisper White-based, not vanilla, so I sponged the edges with Soft Suede and very lightly sponge brayered with Crumb Cake. (In real life it looks more aged and yellowed than it does here.)

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps2

I gold-embossed the greeting on a strip of Very Vanilla that I used Paper Snips to cut banner points on one end. I added a wrap of Linen Thread to finish.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used more Night in Bethlehem images, gold-embossing the sentiment and stars. I stamped the Bethlehem skyline with Early Espresso, and sponged the edges with Soft Suede.

This set may be my favorite in the whole Holiday Catalog!

Stampin’ Up! Tranquil Tide Night in Bethlehem!

Stampin’ Up! Tranquil Tide Night in Bethlehem!

Hey there! It's my birthday today! I remember when I was a little girl, I waited for this day ALL YEAR. Next to Christmas, it was my favorite day. Now with a husband, 3 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, 3 sons, and 9 grandchildren, my birthday has taken a backseat in my attention; not because I don't like getting another year older, I actually don't mind (much), but my family is more important to me than me.

Be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post. I have a little gift for everyone ordering from me today!

Today I'm sharing another project I created for Vacation Stamping School with the Night In Bethlehem set. This was actually my "warm up" project before I moved on to more advanced/technique cards. I used a simple combo of Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla. I embossed a layer of Tranquil Tide with the Holly Textured Impressions Folder to go behind the vanilla stamped layer.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped everything with Tranquil Tide ink, and tied  Tranquil Tide 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in a bow on the side. I sponged all of the edges with Tranquil Tide ink. This card would be a super simple one to duplicate for your Christmas card!

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps4

For my second card I rearranged the images, embossing the bottom layer with the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Folder. I also switched out the ribbon for Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim.

I just love this set! The images are easy to stamp and the meaning of the sentiments are so special!

Stampin’ Up! Thailand Achiever’s Blog Hop August Edition Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks!

Hey there and welcome to the Thailand Achievers Blog Hop! With the start of the Holiday Catalog right around the corner, (September 1st!), our theme for August is appropriately designated as "Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks"! Currently you are visiting Carol Payne. When it's time to move to the next blog, just click on the name below mine and hop along through the list to enjoy all of the inspiration and creativity. You just might find THE CARD you want to make for your Christmas cards this year or perhaps a 3-D project that will fulfill your needs for family, friends, teachers, coworkers, etc.

I couple of weeks ago I was blessed to be asked to present at a demonstrator event, Vacation Stamping School. I chose the Night in Bethlehem Bundle to share, so today I'm sharing one of my projects:

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps1

This easy project received a collective "gasp" when I shared it. In addition to the beautiful images and the coordinating Bethlehem Edgelit dies, I used Foil Snowflakes, Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper, and Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps3

I sponged the night sky with Fresh Fig ink first, then added Night of Navy above, blending them together a bit with my sponge.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps2

I cut a stencil to sponge the Bethlehem "skyline" with a Bethlehem Edgelit Die. I laid it on Very Vanilla before sponging Fresh Fig, and then Night of Navy.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps6

After I removed the stencil I gold heat-embossed the Nativity star.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps7

All of the images I used on this card are included in the Night in Bethlehem set.

I shared several projects at Vacation Stamping School. I will be sharing another one on Thursday!

Now it's time to continue on to the next blog on the hop by clicking the name below mine on the list. Right now you are at Carol Payne.

Stampin’ Up! Carols of Christmas from Vacation Stamping School!

Stampin’ Up! Carols of Christmas from Vacation Stamping School!

Hey there! With my Colorful Seasons Class still going on today I thought I would share some of the  swap pictures I took last Saturday at Vacation Stamping School. All of these are created with the Carols of Christmas Bundle that you can order this month and get a jump on creating your Christmas cards. All of the cards I'm sharing today have no creators names available, as these were entered in a card contest:

First, a lovely Whisper White and Soft Sky creation. The creator used the Marbled Background with Soft Sky ink to peek through the cut out trees, then added Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer trees in front. I love the little deer and the holly/berry touches.

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps3

Next, the creator of this beauty used a print from Be Merry Designer paper to achieve a North Pole look. Cut-out Garden Green pines were slathered with embossing paste and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to create a awesome background for the Lots of Labels die cut greeting.

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps4

The creator of this card embossed the background with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions folder, cut a Gold Glimmer scalloped square to highlight the greeting, and added glitter to just about everything for a snowy winter wonderland look!

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps5

Finally, this creation is the perfect gift bag! Gold heat-embossing, gold die-cut accents, and Gold 3/8" Metallic-edged Ribbon all coordinate perfectly!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop, August Edition, Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop, August Edition, Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks!

1723402_10152213035905070_85588169_n

Hey there and welcome to the August edition of the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! We have been a fewer than a dozen for a few months as some of our members have made changes to their business model and excused themselves from the hop, but this month we are welcoming TWO new members, bringing our number of hoppers back up to the full dozen! yay!

Our theme this month is "Holiday Catalog Sneak Peeks", so sit back, relax, and get ready to be "WOW'd"!

If you have placed an order with me in the past year, the  Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog should be arriving in your mailbox very soon! If you don't receive a copy from me and would like to receive one so you can get started making your Wish List, then leave me a comment or message me and I'll get one in the mail to you in a jiffy!

For my project I chose to use a Holiday Catalog set that does not come bundled with framelits or a punch (I know, gasp!) There are plenty of great sets you can choose from that don't require an extra apparatus to make beautiful cards. I chose Season Like Christmas and paired it with a new embossing folder, the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions folder. Although I love this card with the embossed snowflake, it would be a gorgeous card without it!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

I created two versions, first a very simple one with just stamping twice with Old Olive ink without re-inking in between stamping and then embossing with the Winter Wonder Folder. This one allows the embossed snowflake to shine!

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps6

I also created a slightly stepped-up version with three stamped trees (stamped all three time with only inking the stamp with Old Olive once) and the addition of a Hearts & Stars Element:

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps3

Both have the same inside, stamped with Season Like Christmas images and Old Olive and Basic Black ink.

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps5

Season Like Christmas and the Winter Wonder folder will be available to order on September 1st when the Holiday Catalog goes live.

Which version of this card do you like best?

Stampin_up_season_like_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

Now it's time to move along to the next hopper to see what Judy Garza has created!

1551612_10152213036645070_18131182_n

Or hop back to Laura Milligan's blog to see her lovely creation!

Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days & Christmas in July Ends Today!

Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days & Christmas in July Ends Today!

Hey there! The card I'm sharing today I created for a blog hop that unfortunately I was unable to participate in, but it's appropriate for today because today is the last day of the Bonus Days promotion AND the last day to purchase the Demonstrator Starter Kit and get the Carols of Christmas set added to your kit for free! See all of the details about both promotions at the bottom of this post, but for now, here's my card:

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps1

I combined the Carols of Christmas stamps with Be Merry Designer Series Paper, Gold Glimmer Paper, and Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim.

After stamping the ornaments (each side is a different set, can you tell?) with Cherry Cobbler ink I sprinkled with Clear embossing powder and heat set with my Heat Tool for extra shine and dimension.

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps3

I wrapped about 40 inches of lace around my hand 5 times then tied the piece of ribbon I had wrapped around the card front around the middle of the loops to create the fun, loopy bow!

Stampin_up_carols_of_christmas_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped more Cherry Cobbler clear-embossed ornaments, then used my favorite Butterfly Basics phrase and the Teeny Tiny Wishes Merry Christmas.
