Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Prints Faux Bleach!
Hey there! Today's card has been rolling around in my head ever since I first saw the Sun Prints Suite in the new Annual Catalog. Several of the Nature's Prints Designer Paper pages look like bleached paper. I know they are called "Sun Prints" because of the similarity (and knowing Stampin' Up! they probably used the real deal!) to the light-sensitive paper used to create "sun prints" of leaves, flowers, shells, etc. I somehow missed that craze growing up, but some of my team members who are just 10 years younger than me have spoken fondly of playing with this technique in art class in Junior High.
Here's my creation with the "faux bleach" technique:
To achieve the faux bleach look without using bleach, I simply inked my image with white craft ink, stamped on the Night of Navy card stock, and let it air dry.
To stamp the greeting from Nature's Prints I stamped with white craft ink then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heated with my heat tool. I then cut with a Nature's Prints label die. I wrapped the "faux bleach layer with Starry Sky 1/8" Metallic Woven Ribbon, and added a pearl-y Elegant Faceted Gem. I cut another label with the same die from white card stock, cut it in half lengthwise, and the added it evenly to the back of the greeting label before adding it and the focal image layer to the layer of Sun Prints designer paper I had already added to the card front.
I love the little beveled line all around the die-cut label! Gives it such a finished, polished look!
Inside I stamped everything, including the sentiment from Happiness Abounds, with Night of Navy ink.
I hope you like my "faux bleach" card. I hope to get a chance to do some real bleach stamping soon!
