Stampin’ Up! Love Cats Swaps and I Am Finally Back!

Hey there! I am finally back! My last post was about heading up to Springfield to see my brother before he was to have open heart surgery. Unfortunately, they discovered he had too many blockages and an aortic valve that would need replaced. With all of the health problems, including diabetes, the doctors concluded he probably wouldn't live through the surgery. They also found out through their tests that his kidneys were failing, so he made the decision to go on comfort care. He passed away a few days later. We've been to the funeral in Decatur and now I am dealing with the reality that my brother is gone. I'm thankful he wasn't in much pain and didn't linger very long, but to say that it has been easy would be a lie. But I am clinging to God and He is the true Comforter.

I haven't been doing much stamping since the funeral, but I am hoping to get back to it soon. Stamping is good therapy, and I really enjoy creating, so I know I can't stay away long.

Today I have some Valentine cards I should have shared with you sooner that were created with the Love Cats stamp set. Although these cards are Valentine-themed, each one could be turned into a birthday or other occasion simply by changing the sentiments.

First, a simple fun-fold by Janace Charbonneau. The designer paper is Dandy Designs, a Sale-a-bration freebie choice when you spend $100!

Next, a pop-out fun-fold by Laura Barto. Laura used the Heart Punch Pack, Country Bouquet Punch (currently unavailable to order until after 4/17),and Country Bouquet Designer Paper.

By Kathy Morgan. Kathy used Stylish Shapes Dies and Country Gingham 6 x 6 Designer Paper.

Finally, Jenna Roby embossed the Basic Black background layer with the Gingham Embossing folder and highlighted the greeting with Conversation Bubbles Dies.

Stampin’ Up! No Post Today!

Hey there! Just wanted to pop in and let you know I am not able to post a project today and probably not tomorrow either. Today my husband & I are heading up to Springfield to see my brother, Don. He is in the hospital having testing today and is looking at open heart surgery tomorrow for 4 or 5 by-passes. He's my only brother. I was born 18 years after him, (he's 81 to my 63) so he knows me better than I know him. For the past 5 years or so he been calling me every day just to chat. He's also blind and was living in a nursing home before this heart problem was discovered. At the end of every phone call he always tells me he loves me. I know no one lives forever, but I'm really not ready to let him go. I do have a sister, Connie, who is 12 years older than me, and I am so thankful for her. I will probably be seeing her while we are up there. Just pray for us all the next couple of days, please.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day January 29th!

Hey there! Can you believe that January is almost gone? I can hardly. January to me is like a month of Mondays, which is my favorite day of the week, by the way. The first month of the year is so full of possibility, whether I made resolutions or not (I don't)!

Today I have a pretty group of swaps to share, so let's get started!

First, a card with the Adorable Owls Sale-a-bration stamp set by Suse Woolever.

This is a fun fold where the middle flap raises up! Unfortunately, the Mango Melody Gingham Cottage Designer paper used on this card is retired.

Emily Tull used Dainty Flowers Sale-a-bration paper with the Something Fancy bundle.

Angela Waters used the Sale-a-bration set, In The Country, with Deckled Rectangles dies and the Timber 3D embossing folder.

Chris Wedell used the Sentimental Park Bundle with Dainty Flowers Designer Paper. I'm tellin' ya, you need to place your Sale-a-bration order soon, before this gorgeous paper is all gone! I really don't expect it to last till the end of SAB on February 28!

Finally, a gate-fold card with Waves of Inspiration stamps and By the Bay Designer Paper by Lela Meinke. Lela keeps the card closed with a belly-band embellished with a Waves of Inspiration greeting cut with a Something Fancy die and a bow tied with Balmy Blue/White 1/2" Variegated Ribbon.

Inside she added the pop-ups, using Dandy Designs 12 x 12 Designer paper for the background.

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay All the Good Things!

Hey there! Today I have a Seaside Bay card to share with you that might look familiar, but it's actually a new card I created for a workshop last week that incorporates a couple of the cards I showed you a few weeks ago.

When I made the trio of Seaside Bay cards, the Beginner, Casual, and Avid, I actually couldn't find my pack of By the Bay 6 x 6 Designer Paper, so I had to make all of my cards with just stamps and ink. I loved how they turned out, but when I found my paper I wanted to make another Seaside Bay card incorporating the designer paper into it.

I used the same z-fold as I did for the Avid Stamper card, but instead of stamping on the front folded-back flap, I used a piece of the gold-embossed By the Bay 6 x 6 Designer paper with the swirling school of fish. After stamping the beach scene, I embossed the entire front focal layer with the Seashells 3D embossing folder then used a Blending Brush to swirl Balmy Blue ink to make the embossed images pop.

I stamped the greeting from Seaside Bay, with Soft Suede ink before embossing with the Seashells folder.

I used the same blending brush to add Balmy Blue ink to the oyster.

I added a Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl, the largest one in the package, to the inside of the oyster.

I stamped the beach scene on the inside, and used a sentiment from the Season of Chic stamp set to finish it off.

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Quick & Easy!

Hey there! The card I have to share with you today is super-easy! The Dainty Flowers 12 x 12 Designer Paper in the Sale-a-bration brochure is absolutely gorgeous, and includes two sheets of paper that has flowers growing out of two opposite sides, perfect to cut into twelve 4 x 5 1/4" pieces to uses on card fronts! It's sooo pretty it really doesn't need much else!

The paper has a texture "look" built into it. It is completely smooth, but has this wonderful textured look! I stamped a greeting from the Dainty Delight stamp set with Mossy Meadow ink on a scrap of Basic White. After stamping one of the flower sprays behind the greeting with Mango Melody ink, I twisted the stamp before raising it from the paper to get the blurry look. I then cut it with a Something Fancy die. I cut a strip of Fresh Freesia card stock with another Something Fancy die, then colored it with my Light Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blend to get a darker version. I added three Brushed Brass Butterflies to finish off the front.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Something Fancy with Mossy Meadow ink, and added a couple more flower sprays with Blackberry Bliss and Mango Melody.

Stampin’ Up! Country Bouquet Meets Texture Chic!

Hey there! I'm so excited to share this card with you! I created it because our family is experiencing another rash of weddings this year, starting in February, so I need a few more wedding cards than usual! We are also starting another rash of babies, so I need to get started on some of those cards too!

My card today is created with the Country Bouquet Punch (currently unavailable to order until April) as well as the Love For You Stamp set, both found in the January/April Mini Catalog. I also used Blushing Bride, Distressed Gold 12 x 12 Specialty Paper (also unavailable to order until the week of February 27), and Texture Chic Specialty Paper. NOTE: Texture Chic Specialty Paper will be retiring at the end of April 2023, so if you want or need more of this gorgeous paper, you better order soon!

To save paper, I punched the hearts for the card front with the Country Bouquet punch out of the Distressed Gold layer I also used on the card front. The heart holes in the Distressed Gold are hidden by the layer of Texture Chic Specialty paper.

I try to always do some of my punching or die cutting from a hidden layer to save paper.

The Distressed Gold layer is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8". The Texture Chic Specialty layer is 4" x 5 1/4".

I cut the cross-hatching from Distressed Gold using a Share a Milkshake die. (I forgot to put the Share A Milkshake Dies #160395 in the list of supplies below this post, Sorry!) I heat embossed the "congratulations" from the Something Fancy stamp set with white powder, then cut with a Something Fancy Die.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Something Fancy, cut with another Something Fancy die, then added a couple more small Distressed Gold hearts.

Stampin’ Up! Easter Bunny Bundle!

Hey there! Today I have a little Kraft Note Card I embellished with the Easter Bunny Bundle, Cane Weave 3D embossing folder, and the Petal Park Builder Punch!

I embossed a layer of Blushing Bride card stock with the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder, then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere to the front of the Kraft Note Card.

After cutting a circle from the Vellum Basics Specialty Paper with a Stylish Shapes Die, I adhered the punched bunny to the front side, then turned the circle over and used the see-through-ness of the vellum as my guide to place the dimensionals on the back so I can adhere it to the Blushing Bride layer.

I tied a bit of Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon into a bow and adhered to the bunny with a few dots of liquid glue.

I stamped "Hi" from the Easter Bunny set with Soft Succulent ink, then punched with the Petal Park Builder Punch. I adhered to the lower right corner of the card front with liquid glue, then added three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from the Easter Bunny stamp set with Soft Succulent ink. I stamped the bunny and butterfly images from the same set with Blushing Bride ink.

Stampin’ Up! Beautifully Happy and Dainty Delight for Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! Today is my older sister's 76th birthday. Happy birthday Connie! You have always been one of my favorite people! I am the "baby" of the family, but with her turning 76 and my brother going to be 82, at 63 I am starting to think that maybe I am getting old too! They say age is only a number, and although I am going to be a great-grandmother in May, I don't really "feel" old yet!

Today's swaps are all created with the Beautifully Happy Sale-a-bration stamp set or Dainty Flowers Sale-a-bration Designer Paper. It is a free choice with a $100 product order. Most of the supplies used I will list in the clickable links at the bottom of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Sale-a-bration 2023!

Hey there! Thank you for coming by to see what I'm sharing today for Sunday Swap Day! Today I have a collection of swaps that have all been created with Sale-a-bration 2023 freebies! If you aren't familiar with the Sale-a-bration promotion, every year in January and February Stampin' Up! publishes a small brochure filled with stamps and designer papers that you can get for free with orders of $50 or $100, depending on the product. The past couple of years Stampin' Up! has had two SAB's each year, the traditional Jan-Feb, and then one in July-August, but this year we only get ONE and it's NOW!

To start off, here's an Adorable Owls card combined with the Hand-Drawn Dots stamp set and Dandy Designs 12 x 12 Sale-a-bration paper! Unfortunately, I've lost track of the creator's name.

Next, Judi Anderson's Adorable Owl creation combined with the Heart Punch Pack and Design A Daydream Host Designer Paper.

This cute card featuring the Something Fancy Dies and Dandy Designs SAB paper was created by Judi Anderson.

This Adorable Owls card also uses the Hand-Drawn Dots stamp. This is another card that the creator's name has been lost.

The In the Country Sale-a-bration stamp set was used by Natalie Travis.

Karen Titus combined three prints from the Day On the Farm SAB paper with the On the Farm Bundle.

Finally, this print from the Day at the Farm SAB designer paper makes me think of a Farmer's Market! It was created by Rachael Coon.
