In case you just stopped by to look at cards, here's one of the swaps I created for the cruise using Regarding Dahlias:
Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux silk_1

This is the same swap, one created before I re-inked my pads and the other after. Whew! What a difference a few drops of ink can make!

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_2

It's not the easiest to see, but I used the "faux silk" technique on this card, inking the dahlia first with Daffodil Delight ink and then sponging Tangerine Tango ink around the edges. After I stamped on plain white tissue paper I wadded the tissue into a tight little ball, smoothed it out, then adhered it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I had covered with my Anywhere Glue Stick. After gently but not completely smoothing the tissue down I cut it out with a Floral Frames framelit. I then sponged the edges with more Tangerine Tango ink.

The greeting is from Gifts of Kindness, cut out with a Bitty Banner Framelit.

I think this is the first card I've shared with you in weeks that didn't have at least one retiring product used! Amazing!

Inside I used stamps from the new Work of Art set. Even the shape of the card has been cut with a Floral Frames Framelit!

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_3

More vividly inked version. (It goes without saying, this is the one I swapped!)

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_faux_silk_4

Lots of sponging going on. I was actually pretty happy I only had to make 9 of these. I swapped these with my Stampers Dozen Blog Hop friends!

Stampin’ Up! Fabric Flowers on Cardstock!

Stampin’ Up! Fabric Flowers on Cardstock!

Hey there! I'm heading to the dr later today to see what they can do for this crud I have. Every year in May I go down with a massive seasonal allergy attack that leaves me coughing, feverish, and feeling overall lousy. I have allergy meds I take all year long, and a few other daily things to help keep my allergies at bay the rest of the time, but when the wheat blooms (which this year is all around my house!) I'm done for.

Today I have a different bloom for you, fabric flower blooms:

Stampin_up_fun_flowers_bigz_1

I had a request from a hostess last month for a fabric flower bouquet and matching card so this is what I came up with. Stampin' Up! doesn't sell fabric anymore, so I broke in to my stash of fat quarter bundles to find this fabric. I matched this bundle with Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, and Marina Mist!

Stampin_up_thoughts_prayers_flower_1 - Copy

For shape we adhered cardstock to the fabric using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (retiring), then we cut them with a retiring flower die, the Fun Flowers Bigz L.

My next newsletter (going out tomorrow) will contain a tutorial to make these flowers, so if you aren't subscribed to receive my newletters, please go over to my sidebar to the "sign up for my email newsletter" box and sign up!

Stampin_up_thoughts_prayers_2 - Copy

We stamped the inside and the envelope with Petite Petals flowers.

Here's a few new things you don't want to miss from Stampin' Up!

Stampin’ Up! Retro Regarding Dahlias!

Stampin’ Up! Retro Regarding Dahlias!

Hey there. So sorry you were unable to view my blog Monday. Typepad was experiencing another DDOS attack by Internet pirates. They have the issue resolved for the moment, but I'm afraid they probably aren't done trying.

Today's card has a very "retro" feel to it:

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_1

The Crushed Curry, dry embossed vellum, and gold embossing reminds me of the "Harvest Gold" appliances from my childhood home!

Stampin_up_regarding_dahllias_2

I gold heat-embossed the dahlia 4 times on cardstock vellum, then cut the largest layer with a die from the Floral Frames Framelits, then punched the remaining three layers with the Blossom punch, the Pansy Punch, and the Boho Blossoms Punch. A Vintage Faceted Button glue-dotted to the center finishes it off.

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_3

Inside I gold embossed the Occasions Catalog stamp "People Like You" for the sentiment.

That's all for now. I'm going to get off of here as quickly as possible before the pirates come back!

Stampin’ Up! Stippled Blossoms!

Stampin’ Up! Stippled Blossoms!

Hey there! We had a lovely day today attending Cohen's baptism in Effingham, but my annual May allergies have finally caught up with me and now I am coughing and running a fever! Yuck! Guess I will be making a trip to the clinic sometime this week.

Today I want to show you this:

Stampin_up_stippled_blossoms_1

I CASED this from someone, but now I can't remember who! I've Googled the set, Stippled Blossoms, but after going through two looong pages of samples and checking Splitcoaststampers, I'm still coming up nil. If you know who created this original design, please let me know so I can give them credit!

Stampin_up_stippled_blossoms_2

I love this color combo, Gumball Green, Whisper White, Primrose Petals, and Raspberry Ripple. These colors of ink will be completely gone in a smidge over two weeks, so contact me ASAP if you want any of them!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthdays are Great!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthdays are Great!

Hey there! I had an open Saturday (something that RARELY happens for me) so I was able to stamp for fun! I went with a group of my stampers to Gigi's Retreat in Dix IL! I highy recommend it. Tonya really spoils you with good food, snacks, tons of paper crafting supplies at your fingertips, and a gorgeous place to craft!

We are off to Effingham to day for Cohen's baptism. He and his cousin, Justus, are being baptised by their Hollis grandpa, so Mark & I are going up for the service.

Today I have a few more swaps to share before some of the products completely retire:

Stampin_up_another_great_year_1
Kathy Morgan used Another Great Year (not retiring!) with Eastern Elegance Designer Paper (retiring) and Label Collection Framelit to create this fun easel card.

Stampin_up_another_great_year_2

Gold Foil Vellum and Baked Brown Sugar ink make this card happy!

Brenda Hukriede used Retro Fresh Designer Paper, Bring on the Cake stamps (retiring) and the Banner Punch:

Stampin_up_bring_on_the_cake_1

Brenda had a surprise inside:

Bring_on_the_cake_2

Your own personal cake! So fun!

Lastly, Cindy Ewertz used Epic Day  Paper and Create a Cupcake stamps (sold out in clear but still available in wood) to create  a shaker card:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_1

Perfect Pennants, Gold Sequin Trim, and the Fringe Scissors to make easy confetti:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_2

Bring on the Cake (retired and completely sold out, sorry!) for the Happy Birthday:

Stampin_up_perfect_pennants_3

That's all for now. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
