Stampin’ Up! Blossoming Basket Colored with Markers!

Hey there! I want to see how many different coloring techniques I can use with the Blossoming Basket Bundle!

After heat embossing the basket with white powder, I colored the backside of vellum card stock with Stampin' Write Markers.

It looks messy and ugly from this side doesn't it? I colored the basket with a Chocolate Chip marker, then used Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach, Crushed Curry, and Old Olive to fill in the blooms and leaves.

When you turn the vellum over to the front, the vellum and embossed lines make the messy markering look soft and lovely!

I adhered the vellum to the card front with strategically placed bits of Stampin' Dimensionals.

The vellum is adhered over a layer of Pear Pizzazz dry embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Folder for a softly green background.

A hand-snipped greeting banner and embossed and colored butterflies (hand-cut with Paper Snips) finish the front.

The inside is stamped with more Blossoming Basket images.

Stampin’ Up! Dry Watercolor Blossoming Basket!

Hey there! Today's card was created with the Sale-a-bration Blossoming Basket set and the "dry watercolor" technique!

As I've mentioned before, although I love to stamp and love to color, I've always felt intimidated by watercoloring. I've never felt trained, and certainly not skilled with brushes and water. However, just as the Stampin' Blends alcohol Markers have helped me get over my alcohol marker fears, the "dry watercolor" technique has helped me take another step into the world of watercolor artistry!

After heat embossing the basket with white powder, I then colored the blooms and leaves with the white watercolor pencil. This lays down a layer of white between the Crumb Cake card stock and the colors I want to add.

I used Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Early Espresso to color the blooms, basket, and leaves.

I tied Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim in a bow and white heat-embossed just the "you" from "you are loved". I sponged the Crumb Cake edges with Crumb Cake ink for more of a vintage feel.

Inside I stamped the entire Blossoming Basket sentiment with Crumb Cake ink.

Stampin’ Up! Alaska Achiever’s Blog Hop February 2018!

Hey there and welcome to the February edition of the Stampin' Up! Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Sale-a-bration and Occasions Catalogs, so I'm sure you'll see something to inspire!

I created my project for a stamp class last week with the Hold on to Hope Bundle from the Occasions Catalog!

I used a Whisper White Notecard and Envelope along with Marina Mist, Shimmery White, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I adhered a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of the glimmer paper before cutting with the Cross of Hope Framelit Die to make it easy to adhere the cross to the card.

The banner die is included in the Cross of Hope Framelits.

The scripture and garland borders are all included in Hold on to Hope! Love it!

Stampin’ Up! Blossoming Basket Bundle!

Hey there! The Blossoming Basket Bundle is free with a $100 order (before tax & shipping). Although that sounds like a lot, it's a gorgeous set of products and totally worth it!

I started with a Very Vanilla Note Card and matching envelope. You get 20 of each per pack.

The Note Cards are 5" x 3 1/2", so I embossed a 4 7/8" x 3 3/8" piece of Crumb Cake with the Basket Weave Dynamic folder inked with Crumb Cake. I sponged everything with Crumb Cake ink.

I stamped the image with Crumb Cake, then used Stampin' Blends Markers in Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Crumb Cake to color. I used the Color Lifter on the berried branches and on the ground under the basket to lighten.

The Stampin' Blends Markers really do make you look and feel like an artist! I have always felt inadequate as a watercolorist, but it's so easy to blend the colors with Stampin' Blends!

Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brusho!

Hey there! Today I'm going to share with you a card that in the past I might have thrown in the trash because it didn't turn out as planned, but I think you'll see why I decided to share it anyway.

I wanted to try the Brusho "spritz" technique of sprinkling the crystals on the paper and then spritzing with water, which is a completely different look than when you paint with Brusho.

I stamped the butterfly on Shimmery White paper with Tangerine Tango ink and the Picture Perfect Birthday greeting with Memento Tuxedo Black. I sprinkled both Yellow and Gamboge Brusho Crystal Colour on the paper and then spritzed with water.

The Brusho exploded into these brilliant colors, which was expected. What I didn't expect was how it overpowered the stamped image!

And it also made the greeting smear a little, but you know, overall I like the look!

Inside is a prim and proper contrast without Brusho.

Can you see why I couldn't throw this creation away? I'm kind of lovin' it!
