Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brusho!

Hey there! Today I'm going to share with you a card that in the past I might have thrown in the trash because it didn't turn out as planned, but I think you'll see why I decided to share it anyway.

I wanted to try the Brusho "spritz" technique of sprinkling the crystals on the paper and then spritzing with water, which is a completely different look than when you paint with Brusho.

I stamped the butterfly on Shimmery White paper with Tangerine Tango ink and the Picture Perfect Birthday greeting with Memento Tuxedo Black. I sprinkled both Yellow and Gamboge Brusho Crystal Colour on the paper and then spritzed with water.

The Brusho exploded into these brilliant colors, which was expected. What I didn't expect was how it overpowered the stamped image!

And it also made the greeting smear a little, but you know, overall I like the look!

Inside is a prim and proper contrast without Brusho.

Can you see why I couldn't throw this creation away? I'm kind of lovin' it!

Stampin’ Up! Brusho Bloom!

Hey there! Finally Typepad is up so I can share this pretty card created with Beautiful Day and Brusho Colour Crystals!

Today's bloom was white heat-embossed on Shimmery White, then I used the "sprinkle and paint" method with Yellow Brusho in the center and Gamboge Brusho for the petals.

To "sprinkle an paint" I sprinkled a bit of the crystals I wanted (gamboge) directly on the bloom, then used an Aqua Painter to activate the color and paint. Where the crystals are concentrated is where the color will be the most intense.

For the background I first stamped Crumb Cake with images from the SAB set, Amazing You, with Soft Suede, then embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic folder that I had inked with my Crumb Cake ink pad.

The greeting is Gold Foil cut with a Celebrate You Thinlet die, another SAB freebie.

Inside I used the same inking technique on the Pinewood Planks folder after stamping my sentiment and image.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day and Brusho!

Hey there! Brusho Crystal Colour is "watercolor ink crystals you mix with water to make watercolor washes and designs"!

I used Beautiful Day stamps with Petal Passion Designer Series Paper and an Aqua Painter to pick up the crystals to paint the flower I embossed with white powder on Shimmery White.

I poked a hole in the lids of the Brusho pots with a push-pin, then left the pin in the hole. You only sprinkle a tiny bit of crystals to make a burst of color!

I colored the edges with a Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker.

The greeting from Beautiful Day was cut with a Lots to Love Box Framelit. I colored a White Perfect Accent with a Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends, adding a Whisper White 1/4" Organza bow.

This bloom is much darker:
