Stampin’Up! Button Buddies and Punch Elmo!

Stampin’Up! Button Buddies and Punch Elmo!

Good Morning! How are you today? I'm good. Still plodding away on the dreaded taxes. Yesterday I went with my daughter Jessica, to her accountant to take all of her tax information in and the lady had them done in a snap! Guess I did a good job compiling all the info she needed. Hope I can do the same for myself!

Today's cards are from the same monthly swap as the ones I featured yesterday. The theme of February's swap was Masculine or Children, and today's samples would fit in the "children" category, I think!

This first sample was made by Tamie Ackerson. She gave this little Button Buddies snail a fresh look with Tangerine Tango cardstock, Sycamore Street free Designer Paper, Sycamore Street free Ribbon & Button Pack, and "happy birthday" from the darling little greeting set, Made For You!

Darling little Elmo was created by Linda Pagel with scallop & circle punches and the same free Sycamore Street Designer Paper and Ribbon & Button Pack! "Wishing you a" is from the current Hostess Set, "Wacky Wishes"!

That's it for today! In addition to working on my taxes more today I'm also prepping for a Stamp Camp in West Frankfort tonight! I'm really looking forward to a "tax break" to stamp with some realy fun ladies!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Bitty Butterfly Punch!

Stampin’ Up! Bitty Butterfly Punch!

It's Sunday morning and my Sunday dinner is bubbling softly in the crockpot, and soon it will be time to be off to church! What a lovely day the Lord hath made!

This month another punch I am featuring is the Bitty Butterfly Punch from the Occasions Catalog. I paired it with Bitty's Big Sister, the Elegant Butterfly Punch!

Bitty butterfly 1

More favorites of mine, the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder and the Tea For Two Designer Paper give this card a decidedly vintage look (but without any sponging, can you believe it?)

To achieve the honeycomb shapes with the Tea For Two Designer Paper, I ran strips of the paper through the Big Shot inside the Honeycomb Folder, then hand-trimmed the hexagon shapes with my Paper Snips. The hexagons are attached inside the the honeycombs with a Glue Dot.

The top and bottom strips on the right side were punched with the top of the Elegant Butterfly Punch before being adhered to the Very Vanilla layer and then embossed with the Honeycomb Folder in the Big Shot:

The Bitty Butterfly was glue-dotted to the Elegant Butterfly, then both were attached to the card front with another Glue Dot.The jumbo-sized Rhinestone is actually found in the Occasions Catalog as a Large Rhinestone Basic Jewel. "Just for You" is from the  Sale-a-bration set, Vintage Verses. You can get this set free with a $50 order!

I finished off the inside with a 3/4" wide strip of Tea For Two paper and a phrase from "You Are Loved":

Well, that's all for now. Hope you have a restful and rejuvenating day. After church and Sunday family dinner, my daughters & I are making a quick run to Target, so no nap for me today, which is just as well. I've had to make an adjustment in my caffeine intake as it has been interfering with my sleep patterns at night! Being over 50 can be a drag sometimes!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Punch Miss Lady!

Stampin’Up! Punch Miss Lady!

Before I stopped all stampin' to concentrate of Christmas preparations I was inspired by Jackie Topa to create this little "lady" with  my punches:
Lady 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Isn't she just adorable? I wish she really lived at my house, but unfortunately the only "pets" my husband will permit in the house are our children and grandchildren! lol!

I used stamps and phrases from "Animal Talk":

"Miss Lady" will be part of my Punch/Technique Class on Saturday, January 5th. I am especially fond of my use of one of the new Elements Cute Clips from the upcoming Occasions Catalog beginning on January 3rd:

Stampin’Up! Petite Pennant Trees!

Stampin’Up! Petite Pennant Trees!

I so apologize for this late post, but today I have been having my "Holiday Card Bonanza" at my house, and it's been pretty busy!

Pennant parade 1©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Today's card is one I am featuring as part of the Punch/Technique Club this month. I CASEd the general idea to punch cardstock and DSP with the smaller, smooth-edged Petite Pennants Builder Punch to create the darling little grove of Christmas trees from someone's blog, but I collected the idea ages ago and now I have no idea whose it was! If you know whose original idea this was, please let me know so I can give them credit!

Anyway, I punched Garden Green cardstock with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch, then ran it through the Big Shot inside the skinny little hearts folder from the Adorning Accents Folder, then punched a bunch of trees from Garden Green, Certainly Celery, and Always Artichoke Designer Paper.

I embossed the Whisper White background with the Northern Flurry Folder, and added Basic Jewel Rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and the top of the Garden Green cardstock tree for some bling!

Can you guess what the tiny little red bow is from on the base of the tree? It's a very skinny-cut piece of Cherry Cobbler 3 1/2" Scallop Tulle!

I finished off the front with the Christmas collage phrase from Seasonal Sayings. You can purchase this whole set of 5 stamps or any of them individually until January 2nd.

Well, I guess I'm done for now. I have had just enough of a sliver of time between waves of stampers to pop a little bit of supper in the oven and type up this post!

I promise an earlier post tomorrow! Until then, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Blossom Punch Bold Snowflake!

Stampin’Up! Blossom Punch Bold Snowflake!

Here's a new card I just created last night for my Saturday Stamp-a-Stack hostess, Cindy Lisk!

Bold snowflake 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

It's a CASE of a card I created back in March of this year. You can view it HERE.

Instead of the Boho Blossom Punch used last time I stamped the new, limited-edition Bold Snowflake stamp in Versamark watermark ink on the Island Indigo cardstock. The Blossom Punch will punch out the Bold Snowflake perfectly, but I didn't need to for this card.

I embossed the "Merry Christmas" from Greetings of the Season with White Embossing Powder. The neutral stripe color in the Festival of Prints Designer Paper piece is actually Very Vanilla, but we don't carry Vanilla embossing powder anymore, so I substituted White instead. I think it blends in and makes you think it's Vanillla, don't you?

I added the smallest snowflake from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die in the center of the negative space left from punching. A tiny scalloped flower punched with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punches and a few Rhinestones finish it off perfectly!

Bold snowflake 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

For the inside, I used the pieces I punched out from the front along with another small snowflake, scalloped circle flower, and rhinestone! The verse is from Beautiful Season!

That's all for today! See you tomorrow for another Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Punched Sheriff Santa!

Stampin’ Up! Punched Sheriff Santa!

Happy Saturday! I was working last night on the projects for a workshop I am doing in Salem, IL, on Monday night. This group likes punch art, and although they are not in my punch club, I decided to give them a fresh punch project!

Sherrif santa 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

My "Santa Sheriff" is a refresh of the "Santa Cowboy" I made last year about this time:

Cowboy santa card & page
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I used just about al the same shapes as last time, with the exception of the Pennant Builder Punch. I decided to not add the punched holly sprig to his hat and instead added a Silver Glimmer Paper star punched with the itty-bitty star in the Merry Minis Punch Pack!

This year's version is also a gift card holder like last year, but in a different style:

Sherrif santa 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Instead of the Woodgrain Background stamp I used last year, I ran some of the Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock through my Big Shot in the Woodgrain Embossing Folder! (I need to remember to use NO TABS on my Big Shot when I use this folder with the Core'dinations Cardstock as this piece was very fragile and cracking when I took it out of the folder after using TAB 1. I had to use a lot of extra SNAIL to keep it togther when I put it on my project.) But I really love this effect!

I LOVE the way my greeting layer turned out! I wanted something with a Western flair, and found this "MERRY CHRISTMAS" in the set I received free as an Sr. Manager with Stampin' Up!, "Chock-Fullof Cheer"!

Here's how I made the layer:

I stamped the greeting in Real Red Classic ink on a scrap strip of Crumb Cake that was 1" wide. I then put it in my Decorative Label Punch, centered the words in the center of the label and punched it out:

Sherrif santa 9
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I then punched out a second Decorative Label with Real Red cardstock, cut it in half lengtwise like a hotdog bun, trimmed off the tips from the center of the label as shown, and attached them to the back side of the stamped layer with SNAIL:

Sherrif santa 8
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I always hope that when I refresh a project I will like it as well or better than the original, and in this case I DO!

I have a workshop this afternoon with Katie Wolters and her mom, Patty, and I am really looking forward to it! I get to do at least a couple of workshops with them each year, plus I get to see them at other friend's parties, so we are good friends!

Here's one of the cards Katie picked out from my display to make today:

Stampin’ Up! Owl Pirate!

Stampin’ Up! Owl Pirate!

One of my favorite events every month is my Punch/Technique Class. I love using my Stampin' Up! punches to create fun pieces for my cards! Another of November's Punch Projects is this darling Owl Pirate! I found him somwhere in the blogsphere, I just can't remember exactly where, but he is a winner!
