Stampin’ Up! Punched Sheriff Santa!

Stampin’ Up! Punched Sheriff Santa!

Happy Saturday! I was working last night on the projects for a workshop I am doing in Salem, IL, on Monday night. This group likes punch art, and although they are not in my punch club, I decided to give them a fresh punch project!

My "Santa Sheriff" is a refresh of the "Santa Cowboy" I made last year about this time:

I used just about al the same shapes as last time, with the exception of the Pennant Builder Punch. I decided to not add the punched holly sprig to his hat and instead added a Silver Glimmer Paper star punched with the itty-bitty star in the Merry Minis Punch Pack!

This year's version is also a gift card holder like last year, but in a different style:

Instead of the Woodgrain Background stamp I used last year, I ran some of the Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock through my Big Shot in the Woodgrain Embossing Folder! (I need to remember to use NO TABS on my Big Shot when I use this folder with the Core'dinations Cardstock as this piece was very fragile and cracking when I took it out of the folder after using TAB 1. I had to use a lot of extra SNAIL to keep it togther when I put it on my project.) But I really love this effect!

I LOVE the way my greeting layer turned out! I wanted something with a Western flair, and found this "MERRY CHRISTMAS" in the set I received free as an Sr. Manager with Stampin' Up!, "Chock-Fullof Cheer"!

Here's how I made the layer:

I stamped the greeting in Real Red Classic ink on a scrap strip of Crumb Cake that was 1" wide. I then put it in my Decorative Label Punch, centered the words in the center of the label and punched it out:

I then punched out a second Decorative Label with Real Red cardstock, cut it in half lengtwise like a hotdog bun, trimmed off the tips from the center of the label as shown, and attached them to the back side of the stamped layer with SNAIL:

I always hope that when I refresh a project I will like it as well or better than the original, and in this case I DO!

I have a workshop this afternoon with Katie Wolters and her mom, Patty, and I am really looking forward to it! I get to do at least a couple of workshops with them each year, plus I get to see them at other friend's parties, so we are good friends!

Here's one of the cards Katie picked out from my display to make today:

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Preserved!

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Preserved!

The Holiday Catalog is chock-full of delightful suites of products. Christmas is the first and formost (which you know I will be featuring soon!), but it also has gorgeous fun new stuff for fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving!

The "Orchard Harvest" Suite is one such example. This card features the "Orchard Harvest" Designer Paper, along with the "Perfectly Preserved" stamp set and matchng "Cannery" Framelit Dies. This swap, which is nameless, also uses the "Little Labels" Punch Pack and "Lovely Little Labels" stamp set. The "thank you" is from "Perfectly Preserved", cut out with the small oval Punch and backed with an Itty Bitty Banner. The Scallop Oval doily under the jar is embossed with the new "Lacy Brocade" folder. The Island Indigo mat layer was embossed with the "Woodgrain" Embossing Folder.

This  card by Rene Watson uses some of the same images from "Perfectly Preserved", but with the pear image instead of the appple! Using More Mustard cardstock gives this card a whole different flavor, doesn't it? Rene used the "Window Frames Collection" framelit dies to cut the Old Olive mat for the canning jar, with some simple Whisper White Baker's Twine to "tie" the top of the jar!

Cherry Cobbler and Island Indigo are the featured colors of this card by Karen Kurz! Karen and Rene are  both demonstrators in the monthly swap I participate in. Karen used "Orchard Harvest" Designer Paper, along with the "Window Frames Collection" Framelits to cut the Cherry Cobbler mat. She complemented the window frame shape with paper piercing using the "Festive" Paper-Piercing Pack and our new, ergonomically designed Paper Piercing Tool. A bit of Early Espresso Baker's Twine finishes off the top of this canning jar!

Here's another card using products from the Orchard Harvest Suite, this time by Ann Lohmeyer. Ann used the "Woodgrain" Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss the Soft Suede layer after applying the leaves cut with the "Autumn Accents" Bigz Die. The result is a look of the leaves being embedded in the woodgrain! "THANKS A BUNCH"  is from the "Friendship Preserves" stamp set and has been cut out once again with the "Window Frames Frames Collection" Framelit Die. She applied clear "Dazzling Details" last thing to the "THANKS" letters, and sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.

Last but not least, Ruth Bingle, another monthly swapper, created this beauty with the "Autumn Accents" Bigz Die, a strip of "Howlstooth & Scaringbone" Designer Paper, a "Brushed Bronze" Designer Button, Linen Thread, and Basic Black/Basic Gray 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon. The sentiment is from the "Day of Gratitude" stamp set found in the Annnual Catalog on page 27. A beautiful card!
