Stampin’ Up! Round of Applause!

Stampin’ Up! Round of Applause!

Hey there! A couple of weeks ago I was commissioned to make some graduation cards, so I used the Round of Applause stamp set and the Label Me Lovely Punch to make eight of these!

I started by stamping the Basic Gray layer with the graduation hat and "you did it" with Basic Gray ink.

Stampin_up_round_of_applause_carolpaynestamps4
After heat embossing the focal image with silver powder, I punched with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch, then punched Silver Foil with the Label Me Lovely punch. After cutting the silver label in half I adhered to the back to mat it.

All of the images and phrases are from Round of Applause.

This was my first creation with the same stamp set. I decided to upgrade it to the first one I showed you for more elegance; but this one is nice too!

Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases Sympathy

Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases Sympathy

Hey there! Another retiring set I'm sad to see go is Flourishing Phrases and the coordinating Flourish Dies. It's actually one of only two remaining wood-mount sets in my stash, and the other one, Label Me Pretty, is retiring too! Wood-mount was the way all of my stamps were mounted when I started stamping 18 years ago. There were no photopolymers or cling-mounts back then, just good 'ol red rubber mounted on wood blocks! I was hesitant to convert to cling mount and photopolymer, but gradually I did.  I still love the feel of that wood block in my hand! Everything changes (except for the Lord who never changes) and now I love my cling and photopolymer!

Wood block

For my card today I used Flourishing Phrases to create a sympathy card with Mint Macaron, Shaded Spruce, and a stenciling technique.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps2

After stenciling with Mint Macaron ink on the Mint Macaron card stock, I ran it through my embossing machine in the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps4

I added a few Frosted Flower Embellishments to the greeting punched with the Label Me Fancy punch.

Stampin_up_flourishing_phrases_carolpaynestamps5

This set makes it so easy to create a sweet card for sympathy, wedding, congratulations, just a note, thank you, and hello!

So many of the supplies I used for today's card are retiring and will be gone forever after June 2nd, so don't delay!

Stampin’ Up! I Say Hello!

Stampin’ Up! I Say Hello!

Hey there! With virtual graduations being posted on Facebook every day,  I thought it would be a good idea to stamp up a few basic graduation cards to have on hand to mail out to some of my friend's kids! I don't always know the school colors, but you can't go wrong with Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Whisper White!

For my card today I used the retiring I Say Hello stamp set and Mosaic 3D embossing folder. The Mosaic gives it a modern feel that would be perfect for masculine or feminine, but you could use a swirly or floral embossing folder to make it more feminine.

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_carolpaynestamps1

I hand-cut the graduation hat with Paper Snips and added Clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer to coordinate with the Black 3/8" Glitter Organdy Ribbon.

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped the streamers with stamped-off Basic Gray ink as well as the stitch-like corner images.

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_carolpaynestamps5

I think it looks festive! It can be used for any graduate at any school with the Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White color combo!

Stampin_up_i_say_hello_carolpaynestamps7

This card was super-quick and super easy to create! Download my free directions and give it a try!

Stampin’ Up! Bee Thankful!

Stampin’ Up! Bee Thankful!

Hey there! When the Retiring List comes out I often find I have some stamps that I've never gotten inky.  It's sad, so I try to create with all of the neglected ones before they fully retire. The card I have for you today is with the Bee Thankful single stamp, which was one of those neglected for too long!

I combined Bee Thankful with All Wired Up and Ornate Garden Specialty Paper:

Stampin_up_bee_thankful_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the image with Tuxedo Black ink, I then traced around the stamp on scrap paper to create a mask to lay over the "thanks" and bee image to stamp over it with the All Wired Up image. Intended to look like chicken wire, I think it passes for honeycomb too. What do you think?

Stampin_up_bee_thankful_carolpaynestamps2

Inside I used a sentiment from the retiring "Thanks for the Laughs".

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks CASEing the New Catalog!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks CASEing the New Catalog!

Hey there! Stampin' Up! released the New Annual Catalog to demonstrators a few days ago. I checked out the card samples made with the Ornate Garden Suite. I fell in love with a little square card created with the Ornate Borders dies:
Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_catalog_card_carolpaynestamps1

Stampin' Up! also released a Catalog Samples guide to demos with supply lists for every sample in the new catalog. I used the list to put this card together. I used the card stock colors of Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Pool Party. Each strip was cut with an Ornate Borders Die, then added to a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square of Whisper White using liquid glue. Don't worry, when the New Annual Catalog goes live on June 3rd I'll be sharing the Catalog Samples Guide PDF with you!

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_catalog_card_carolpaynestamps2

I heat embossed the sentiment with white powder on a rectangle of Basic Black, then punched the corners just a bit with a 1/2" Circle Punch.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, and added snippets from the border strips to each corner.

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_catalog_card_carolpaynestamps3

I can tell already the New Annual Catalog is going to be fun to shop, as well as providing tons of inspiration! Let me know if I can mail you one in May. Put  your name and address in the comments!

Supplies to order:

NOTE: The Ornate Borders dies are currently on the "not orderable" list. I will notify you when a they do become available to order.
