Stampin’ Up! Royal Peacock is Retiring!

Stampin’ Up! Royal Peacock is Retiring!

Hey there! The Stampin' Up! Retiring List posted yesterday afternoon! Some of the products are even discounted!

I'll post a link to the Retiring Lists at the bottom of this post, but I want to show you a card I made with the Royal Peacock Bundle that IS retiring. All of the stamps on the Retiring List will be guaranteed to be available through May 22, 2020, but everything else is WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!

I used the Retiring Noble Peacock Bundle, which includes the Noble Peacock stamp set and Detailed Peacock Dies, and Retiring Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper to create this card that would make a perfect graduation card for a girl or a boy!

Stampin_up_royal_peacock_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the peacock on Pretty Peacock card stock with Pretty Peacock ink, I cut it out with a Detailed Peacock die. Before I adhered to a layer of Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper I added shimmer with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Stampin_up_royal_peacock_carolpaynestamps4

I stamped the greeting from Royal Peacock with Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White, punched with the 2-inch Circle Punch, then layered onto Pretty Peacock punched with the now-retiring Starburst Punch. I added a few Noble Peacock Rhinestones, which are also retiring.

Stampin_up_royal_peacock_carolpaynestamps7

I added a bunch of Noble Peacock Rhinestones to the feathers.

Stampin_up_royal_peacock_carolpaynestamps6

The sentiments in Royal Peacock are perfect for a graduation card. Mailing cards is even more important this year with all the cancelled grad ceremonies, don't you think?

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Ornate Garden!

Stampin’ Up! Quilted Ornate Garden!

Hey there! I love cards that look like quilting!

Stampin_up_quilted_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps3

I used Ornate Garden Specialty prints that looked like quilt fabric, and Pear Pizzazz and Rococo Rose to match. I cut 1 1/4" squares of the flowery print to add to a  2 1/2" Pear Pizzazz square. I put the square on the diagonal to a 3 1/2" Rococo Rose square. I cut 1 1/4" squares of Rococo Rose print in half diagonally to add to every other square. After I adhering I ran the whole piece through the die-cutting/embossing machine inside the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder.

Stampin_up_quilted_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps5

I embossed the Old Olive card front with the same folder before adhering the "quilt" with dimensionals. I cut away the outer edges of a Pearlized Doily to add to the center with liquid glue, then added a bow of Old Olive ribbon from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo pack with a glue dot.

Stampin_up_quilted_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps6

I stamped the Ornate Thanks greeting with Mossy Meadow, then cut with an Ornate Layers die. I stamped a single bloom from Ornate Style with Mossy Meadow, then colored with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. After popping it up with a dimensional I added the tiniest of the Gilded Gems.

Stampin_up_quilted_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps7

I learned this technique last year in Charlotte, NC from Colleen Magness  (NOTE: the product medley she uses in her video is on the Clearance Rack today for almost 1/2 price!) and was reminded of it recently by Julie Davison.

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Flap Fold!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Garden Flap Fold!

Hey there! We had a very quiet Easter, as I'm sure most of you did too. But even without going to church and having a big family gathering, we still celebrated the Resurrection of our Living Savior!

Today I have a pair of cards I created with the Folded Flap fold and the Ornate Garden Suite!

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps

Not much difference between these two cards except for the addition of a 1/2" circle of Soft Suede behind the Gilded Gem on the card on the left, but it makes a big impact, doesn't it?

I used the same measurements and layout as the Pool Party card I shared with you on Saturday I simply changed the color palette to So Saffron, Whisper White, and Soft Suede.

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps2

I punched two daisies with the Medium Daisy Punch to layer together with liquid glue. I added a Gilded Gem to the center.

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps3

I punched a Soft Suede inked Ornate Thanks sentiment with the Classic Label Punch. I then adhered with a thin line of liquid glue.

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped "THANKS" from Ornate Thanks with Soft Suede and then stamped the floral spray from Ornate Style with So Saffron. I stamped So Saffron daisies on the envelope flap too!

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps5

My second version with the added 1/2" Soft Suede circle behind the Gilded Gem!

Stampin_up_ornate_garden_carolpaynestamps6

Adding the Soft Suede circle changes the flower from a simple daisy to more!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Embossed Vellum!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Embossed Vellum!

Hey there! A couple of days ago I took almost the whole day and just stamped! It was soooo much fun! I mostly played with the Ornate Garden Suite, and the possibilities are endless!

The card I'm sharing today was created by heat embossing on vellum, then coloring with Stampin' Blends:

Stampin_up_ornate_style_vellum_carolpaynestamps1

After heat embossing with white powder and coloring on the back side with the blends, I used an Ornate Layers die to cut out the floral spray. I sketchily colored around the blooms with a Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blend before adhereing to a white layer with strategically placed glue dots.

Stampin_up_ornate_style_vellum_carolpaynestamps2

I colored on the backside for all of the blooms and leaves except the daisies. For some inexplicable reason I colored them on the front! I prefer to color on the back side so the vellum can soften the brushstrokes and color, but I had already finished coloring it all before I discovered my mistake, so I decided to just go with it! lol!

Stampin_up_ornate_style_vellum_carolpaynestamps4

The greeting is heat-embossed with white on the Classic Label-punched Pool Party. I added some bling with a Gilded Gem from the Ornate Garden Suite.

Stampin_up_ornate_style_vellum_carolpaynestamps3

After dry-embossing the largest inside white layer with the Ornate Floral 3D folder, I added the rest of the layers stamped with Ornate Style and Ornate Thanks.

Stampin’ Up! New Catalog Early Release Ornate Garden!

Stampin’ Up! New Catalog Early Release Ornate Garden!

Hey there! Today Stampin' Up! has released a new catalog suite called Ornate Garden! Demonstrators were allowed to pre-order this suite at the beginning of March, so I've had a little time to play. Today I'm sharing one of the first cards I created with the Ornate Thanks part of the suite. This bundle includes the Ornate Thanks stamp set and the Ornate Borders Dies. I chose a print from the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper, then built my card around it!

Ornate Garden Border 1

I chose Early Espresso for my card base along with Rococo Rose and Very Vanilla, which were colors I could "see" in the paper. Rococo Rose isn't one of the colors listed on the Ornate Garden Specialty package, but when you put it up against the paper, it coordinates! "just wanted to say" is one of the 19 stamps in the Ornate Thanks set. I embossed a 1/2" strip of  Early Espresso with the new Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to cover the area between the designer paper and the fancy border I cut from Rococo Rose with one of the 9 Ornate Border Dies. I used a Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out the greeting and added a Gilded Gem as my finishing touch.

Ornate Garden Border 2

On the Very Vanilla inside layer I stamped another sentiment from Ornate Thanks. I stamped the large bloom image from Ornate Style in the lower right corner using Rococo Rose ink.

Ornate Garden Border 5

All of the components of the Ornate Garden Suite are available to order today! This is no April Fool's joke!
