My 500th Blog Post! Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Fancy Fold!

My 500th Blog Post! Stampin’ Up! Secret Garden Fancy Fold!

Good morning! I am especially excited today to be writing my 500th blog post! So excited that I am offering a Stampin' Up! Stampin' Trimmer as a gift to one lucky person who leaves a comment here on my blog today! I started this promotion yesterday in anticipation of my 500th post, but so far only ONE person has left a comment! I can hardly BELIEVE it! Everyone who comments today will get a chance in the drawing, so COME ON STAMPERS, leave me some comments!

In honor of this MOMENTOUS occasion (at least for me!) I created this card:
Secret garden 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I used the card I showed you here back on the first of March as my template, then got busy changing the color scheme! I used Daffodil Delight cardstock for my base, Floral District Designer Paper, and the Secret Garden Bundle from the Occasions catalog.

Sometimes when I am creating from "scratch" it takes me a long time and sacrifices several pieces of cardstock before I am happy with the result, but this time the creative juices flowed freely and I had my sample to my pleasing in a very short amount of time!

I had been thinking that this type of fold would lend itself nicely as a gift-card holder, and I was right!

Secret garden 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I used the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Folder, "Happiness" from Loving Thoughts,  and the "just for you" from the Pop-up Posies Designer Kit to finish things off.

Well, how's that for a 500th blog post? I am so pleased to have reached the 500 mark, now it's on to 1000!

Don't forget to leave me a comment to get your name in the drawing for the Stampin' Trimmer!

I need to close for now, my son, Logan is coming home this evening for a long weekend from school, and my sister-in-law, Debbie is coming this weekend, so I have lots to prepare!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

A Pop-Up Card!

A Pop-Up Card!

Good Evening Stampers!

Sale-a-bration is in full-swing! I have been out a couple of nights this week already with Sale-a-bration workshops, and I have another one tomorrow night! I can't wait!

The past few days I have been spending ALOT of time creating some fun new projects for my workshops and classes, and I have been having a BLAST! One of the challenges I put on myself was to figure out how to make this card. One of my friends at Leadership received a swap similar to this card last week, and since I don't live with her I took some pictures of it, thinking it would be EASY TO FIGURE OUT! WRONG! I even asked my aspiring engineer-son, Logan, to help me figure it out as I didn't take any measurements, just pictures. He, however, was apparently too busy with his online computer game to help, so I just kept at it till I figured it out myself! I am very proud! (Maybe there's a little bit of an engineer in me too!)

Without further ado, here it is:

Okay, you say? What's the big deal? It's an okay card, but nothing particularly special, nothing you haven't already seen before?

Wait for it . . .

©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I am absolutely IN LOVE with this card, and once I figured it out and wrote down all of my measurements, it is EASY! I immediately made another one using the "Just My Type" stamp set from the Occasions Mini, but that one will have to wait for another day as it is for my husband's birthday, which is a month away. Although he NEVER looks at my blog, it hardly seems fair to share it with the world before he gets to see it, right?

Anyhoo, I used the Create a Cupcake stamp set, matching Build a Cupcake Punch and Big Top Birthday Designer Paper. If you want to know more, you will have to ask!

So here's the deal. I'm going to give this card away! YES I AM! Don't believe me? Just leave me a comment in the comment section. Please be nice, please be clean, and please don't comment if you don't like my card. The FIRST nice, clean, complimentary comment left on my blog about this card will receive it in the mail from me! Just leave your comment along with your email so I can contact you for your address and it's YOURS! I will include a matching stamped envelope so it will be all ready for you to give away to your favorite birthday friend!

But I'm not going to stop there! Keep an eye on my blog and you will find out what else is coming in the future!

Until tomorrow, have a "StampingRox!" day!

Tropical Party Birthday!

Tropical Party Birthday!

Here's the card I promised to show you yesterday. I merged the giftcard layout from yesterday's post with elements from this cruise swap by Mary Robinson:

Tropical party cruise swap ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

I LOVED how the Square Lattice embossing folder gives a "grass thatch" look to the kraft cardstock, especially when it is sponged with a little Soft Suede! I took this concept and merged it with the giftcardholder card layout and came up with this:

Tropical gift card ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

Pretty neat, huh! I am pretty pleased with the result. I change up the focal point a bit by using the Scalloped Circle #2 Bigz Die for the Garden Green scalloped circle (a color that is retiring but will be replaced by the return of past In-Color "Wild Wasabi" in the new IB&C on July 1st!) and used the Circles Die for the Whisper White stamping piece.

Here's the inside:

Tropical giftcard 2 ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2010

Pretty neat! In the past I've done lots of almost exact CASEing of cards I've received in swaps and from my web surfing, but lately I've been challenging myself to stamp more originally, and even though this card does have elements of the original inspiration, I feel I've changed it up enough to make it my own, what do you think?

Let's try something, shall we? Everyone who leaves a comment on this card from now until Friday May 21st  will have their name put in a drawing to receive this card, including a coordinating envelope ready for you to use! I would love to hear from more of you, I know you're out there!

Until tomorrow, have a STAMPIN' ROX DAY!
