Stampin’ Up! Fiji Swaps! Best of Butterflies & Pure Gumption!

Stampin’ Up! Fiji Swaps! Best of Butterflies & Pure Gumption!

Good morning! Bula! (I just can't seem to stop myself from using this Fijiian greeting, I heard it from everyone I met in Fiji! I also noticed that men tended to emphasize the first part of the greeting more, pronouncing it "BOO-lah" with a very heavy sound, and the women pronounced it much more lightly – "bu-LAH")

Anyway, I have THREE fun swaps to show you from the swap boards in Fiji. Because they were attached to the board I have no idea who the creators are, but they are very fine swaps!

Note: all products used are ©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013 unless otherwise stated.

First, an ingeniously folded grad-cap card using the stamp set, Pure Gumption and Parker's Patterns Designer Paper!

Pure gumption

Next two swaps using the 25th Anniversary Collection stamp set, Best of Flowers!

This one is clean-and-simple, just the way a sympathy card should be:

Best of flowers 1

This one has some color popped with a Sponge Dauber and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter added with a 2-way Glue Pen. The largest Apothecary Accents Framelit was used to both frame the focal image and to cut the Basic Black mat behind it. The Lacy Brocade-embossed layer has been sponged with some Frost White Shimmer Paint!

Best of flowers 2

That's all for now! I'm off today to see Liam! I haven't given him a hug in over a week! I'm dying to see him! Then this evening I will be attending Maddie Kate's end-of-school choir concert! Yay!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Bombs Away Birthday & My Crazy Friday!

Stampin’ Up! Bombs Away Birthday & My Crazy Friday!

Happy late Saturday Morning! Whew! Yesterday really wore me out! It was one of those days where everything happens on top of each other so you feel like you are in six places at once, but it was ALL GOOD and I feel SO BLESSED!!!!

I will just give you a quick run-down of my day:

8 a.m. I leave my house to drive the 21 minutes to Kimberly's to pick up my grandson, Liam. On the way home we make a quick trip around Kroger to pick up some groceries and get gas. Liam has discovered there IS such a thing as a strange face, so bursts into hysterical tears when only 3 feet away from me down the check-out line.

10 a.m. We get home and Ben helps me bring in all my groceries and Liam. Mark comes home and I put Liam down for his morning nap while I get a shower.

11:30 a.m. Jessica drops off Cohen & Jaxon so she can run some errands in Mt Vernon. I fix lunch.

12:45 p.m. Liam gets up from his nap and Jaxon goes down for his nap at 1. They use the same pack-n-play, of course, so the bed barely gets cold in between!

1:15 p.m. Liam and I head back to Mt Vernon to meet Jessica for pedicures. Like me, Jessica is so busy with her photography business she rarely gets a moment to enjoy a little perk like this.

3:00 p.m. Liam, Jessica & I meet Alisa & Cody, Cody's Mom Diane, and Kimberly at Alisa's dr. We all get to watch the 4-D sonogram of Alisa & Cody's coming baby boy, Oakley!

4:00 p.m. I arrive back home minus Liam, who stayed with his mom of course, to pack up to go to the Honduras Fundraiser.

5:00 p.m. My dear Downline, Linda Reaney, arrives with her granddaughter, Brooklyn, to ride back up to Mt Vernon with me to the Fundraiser.

11 p.m. Arrive back home from the Fundraiser!

Can you see why it's taken me until late morning to get around to blogging?????

Here's some pictures of my day (I'm amazed I had time to think to take any pictures! I wish I had taken more!)

Logan & Logan & Mommies & Babies!

Logan & Logan & Mommies & Babies!

Yesterday was a fun, relaxing day! My company came and we had a good time hanging out! That's something I seldom do, so it was a treat!

Logan & "little Logan" got to hang out some too!

Logan & Logan

In the evening my daughter, Kimberly and my grandson, Liam, came over to visit. "little Logan" is not quite a month older than Liam, and Kimberly and Amanda were cousins who got to see each other alot while they were growing up, so it was a fun reunion!

Girls & babies 1

The girls are so happy being Mommies, just like Debbie & I were when our babies were little!

Girls & babies 2

Just precious! The babies rolled around on the floor together for quite awhile until it was time to go to bed!

While we were at Cracker Barrel today I saw a sign that said, "I may not be rich or famous, but having grandchildren is priceless". That's SO TRUE!!!!!

That's it for today! I'll be back tomorrow with another stamping sample for you!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Stampin’ Up! Heart Punches to the Rescue!

Before we get started today, I want to show you what was in my living room last night:

Swody boy 1

Did you guess????

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In July we will greet our 4th grandson! We are so excited!!!!!

No name yet, but I'll keep you posted when one is decided!

Before we had the big reveal, Jessica brought the grandkids to my house so we could get their valentines  made. Remember I showed them to you a few days ago.

I also gave them all their Valentine gifts from me yesterday. I won't be seeing them on Valentine's Day, and the gifts for Maddie Kate and Ava were valentine-themed cooking kits, so I got them wrapped and ready for them to open while they were at my house.

After I gathered everything together, I realized I had NO VALENTINE WRAPPING PAPER (GASP!) but it only took me a half a second to realize that I HAVE PUNCHES, so nothing to worry about!

Here's what I did for the girls' gifts:

Gifts 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Full Heart Punch, Small Heart Punch, the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, some Tea Lace Doilies, and the Big Shot Alphabet from the Stampin' Up! catalog! Voila!

For the boys:

Gifts 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

Heart Framelits and the same alphabet again!

And finally, my gift for baby Swody (our name for Alisa's baby right now, a combo of "Sweed", (Alisa's nickname), and Cody:

Gifts 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I was trying to be gender-neutral because when I wrapped it we didn't know he was a boy yet! A little girly-looking, but I used the blue gingham side of the pink gingham wrapping paper I used for the girls to tone it down!

That's all for today! I will leave you with one more picture from last night. When we received the news that Alisa & Cody were expecting, they gave us this onesie with the name "Swody" on it, but it was all black and white, no color. Well, "Swody" has color now!

Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up!

Besides going to the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this month, I also had the chance to go see "Wicked" at the Fox Theater in St. Louis! My ticket was my Christmas present from my daughter, Kimberly! It was so much fun!

I've been hearing about the Fox for years, ever since my kids were in grade school and occasionally one of them would get to go as part of a school trip, but I'd never been so the whole experience was one of great anticipation, followed by no disappointment!

As probably many of you know, "Wicked" is a fun musical based on the well-known story of the "Wizard of Oz", but what I didn't know was that it tells a possible sequence of events leading up to and after the visit to Oz by Dorothy. Why DID the Wicked Witch of the West become so WICKED?

The Fox is a gorgeous place to visit just in itself, I highly recommend going if you get the chance!

Fox 1

Of course, the best reason I enjoyed it so much is because I got to go with my three beautiful daughters!

Fox 2

From left to right: Alisa, Kimberly, and Jessica. Who could ask for better?! I truly am honored to be their mother and am proud to say they are my best girlfriends!

Fox 3
Yes, it WAS COLD!!!!!!!

Here's one of my swaps I took to Leadership for an organized swap I participated in. I used the "Tea for Two" Designer Paper and the "Hearts a Flutter" Framelits:

A close-up of the inside:

Hearts a fllutter gatefold 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I did the "Paper Quilting" technique for the heart and cut out some of the new Crepe Filter Paper  with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet. I love the Filter Paper, but don't think I will be using the Sizzlets with it again. Although most of the little "chad" pieces came out easily, it was not fun removing the remaining ones without tearing because of how delicate the paper is.

I used the Sale-a-bration set, "Bloomin' Marvelous" for the greeting and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"  is from "From My Heart".

Well, I've got to get going. "Best of Birthdays" Class is this afternoon and my "Yes, Ma'am!" Downline Meeting is tonight!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Our Family Christmas!

Our Family Christmas!

While I am sitting here being a lump on the couch I thought I would show you what I've been up to during this Christmas holiday season!

Christmas morning: the Payne Clan grandkids: Maddie Kate holding Liam Percival, Ava Claire holding Jaxon William, and Johnny Mark Cohen!

Christmas 1

Liam's dad, Tony, loves the movie, "Elf", so this onesie was perfect for him!

Christmas 2

Jaxon is very laid back, at almost 12 months (his birthday is December 26th!) he had to be encouraged to open his gifts!

Christmas 3

Not Liam, he's always been a real wiggle-worm and has been reaching for things for quite awhile, HE had no trouble trying to get his gifts open!

Christmas 6

Alisa & Cody – we received the news on Christmas Eve they will become parents in July! (insert squeals here!)

Christmas 7

My husband has always been very creative in his gift wrapping for me – he cut down a Coke carton to wrap my socks!

Christmas 9

A very thoughtful gift from my hubby: a box of my "favorite things" – Pretzels, Wild Cherry Pepsi, Heath candy bars, and PAPER and a PEN! (How did he ever guess??? I think after 35 years of marriage he has learned a thing or two!)

Christmas 10

The annual "Swim in the Wrapping Paper"! Our kids started this tradition years ago!

Christmas 11

All together we had three nights and four days with all 14 of us squeezed into our house, so it was an endless round of food, games, and laundry! (smile!)

That's all for now, I hope to be back to posting creative samples for you all soon!

Until then, have a "Stampingrox!" day!
