Stampin’ Up! Creations by Yes, Mam! Linda Reaney!

Hi there! I want to share with you a couple of creations by one of the members of my dowline, the Yes, Mam! Stampers, Linda Reaney!

Linda reaney 1
First, Linda CASED a card that Shelli Gardner showed on stage during the Stampin' Up! convention this past July. She used the new Label Card Thinlet Dies, Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Folder, Petite Pairs stamps, Merry Minis Punch Pack, Silver Glimmmer Paper, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Festive Flurry Framelits, Winter Frost Designer Paper, Silver 1/8" Ribbon, and Festive Flurry stamps.

Linda reaney 2
I just LOVE how these Card Thinlet Dies let you "flip" your card just by opening it a little bit!

Linda Reaney
Did you know that gold is supposed to be the new silver this season? Gold sure works for this card! Linda used the new Gold Foil Sheets from the Holiday Cotalog, Oval Collection Framelits, Keepsake Ornament stamps and Holiday ornament framelits, and a greeting from More Merry Messages, all matted on a Cherry Cobbler card base.

That's all for now! Today is the first day to register for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Houston, TX! yay! It's not until early January, but it's a really great event to attend! It will be fun!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Special Season Dazzling Dryer Sheet!

Stampin’ Up! Special Season Dazzling Dryer Sheet!

Hey there! I love the card I have for you today! I used the  Dazzling Dryer Sheet technique on it. It is especially gorgeous on Christmas cards with  trees and snowflakes.Lookie:

Special season 1

I started with a card base of Island Indigo, then layered on a piece of Winter Frost Specialty Desginer Paper, one of the single-sided sheets that has a foiled stripe in it.

I stamped the tree from Special Season with Island Indigo ink on Whisper White, then covered the entire layer with my Glue Stick. I then smoothed a used dryer sheet over the glue, really rubbing it into the glue. I trimmed the sheet even with the edges of the layer, then sprinkled the dryer sheet all over with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Before I layered the tree onto a piece of Silver Glimmer paper I wrapped it with a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a piece of Coastal Cabana  3/8" Ruffled Stretch Ribbon. I used Tombow Glue to adhere the ruffled ribbon on the organza, then added the bannered greeting from Special Season over both ribbons with Stampin' Dimesionals. I added a Vintage Faceted Button and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel for the final touch.

Special season 2
I simply stamped "Christmas Greetings" and the pinecone cluster, also from Special Season, on the inside.

And that's it! I'm really loving this card! The Dazzling Diamonds Glitter clings wonderfully to both the mesh of the used dryer sheet and the glue that squeezed up between the dryer sheet threads!

One tip: the dryer sheet MUST BE USED. An un-used dryer sheet will not allow the Dazzling Diamonds to stick!

Thanks so much for coming by to see me today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Here's the supply list for today's card:

Stamps: Special Season #132766 Wood-mount $19.95, #131769 $14.95 Clear-mount

Cardstock: Island Indigo #122923 $6.95, Whisper White #100730 $8.50, Silver Glimmer Paper #124005 $4.95, Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper #132341 $12.95

Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds Glitter #101023 $4.50, Anywhere Glue Sticks #104045 $3.95, Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon #114319 $5.95, Coastal Cabana 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim #130024 $8.95, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons #127555 $5.95, Rhinestone Basic Jewels #119246 $4.95, Glue Dots #103683 $4.95, Stampin' Dimensionals #104430 $3.95, Tombow Glue #110755 $3.95, SNAIL ahesive #104332 $6.95

Non-Stampin'Up!: used dryer sheet (actually the cheaper the better. The higher-end sheets actually do not have as pretty-looking mesh when they come out of the dryer)

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop For Christmas!

Stampin’ Up! Flower Shop For Christmas!

With the unbelievable value of the current $25 Demonstrator Starter Kit Deal (which is only available until October 21st!), I've been thinking about what would I purchase for my $25 if I was signing up as a new demonstrator this month?

I know when I started as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is November of 2002, I was very interested in the value of the kit (over $250 to purchase at that time, if I remember correctly) and how to recoup my initial expense. As I chose the stamps for my kit, I considered which stamps would be the most versatile, ones I could use for more than one occasion.

Today's card is an example of using a current stamp set in a different way to get more value out of your stamps. I created a Christmas card with the new floral set from the Annual Catalog, Flower Shop.

First, here's what the set looks like in the catalog:

130939LFlower Shop #130139 Wood-mount $23.95

                                                             Flower Shop #130942 Clear-mount $17.95

There's even a coordinating punch to go with it and a bundle price when you purchase the stamps and the punch together, so it's a great value to begin with!

Here's my Christmas card using this set:

Flower shop christmas 1

I heat-embossed the flowers with White embossing powder on Real Red cardstock, then punched them with the coordinating Pansy Punch #130698 $15.95. I stamped one of the flowers on the Whisper White layer with Garden Green ink to give the look of flower leaves. The Real Red flowers are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, and the Vintage Faceted Buttons in the centers are adhered with Glue Dots.

The greeting is from Many Merry Messages stamped in Garden Green ink, which coordinates beautifully with the Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon tied in a bow!

Flower shop christmas 2
Inside I stamped two of the flowers on the Whisper White layer with Real Red ink, then stamped the phrase from Christmas Messages with Garden Green ink.

Well, what do you think? Did I do a good job using this floral set in a non-traditional way? Leave me a comment and this card could arrive in your mailbox before you know it!

I'm diggin' this card so much it's likely to be one we make at my November Christmas Card Class, what do you think?

That's all for now! Thanks for stopping by today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! Build a Banner Christmas Joy!

Stampin’Up! Build a Banner Christmas Joy!

I received my final paper-copy of Papercrafts this weekend, (it's going to all digital delivery from now on)and a sample on the cover inspired me to create this with my Build a Banner Simply Created Kit:

Joy 1

I used the stencils in the kit to sponge the "j" with Early Espresso, the "o" with Real Red, and the "y" with Garden Green on the Crumb Cake layer. After sponging the "joy" letters, I then sponged the dots with the dotted stencil and Whisper White Craft ink.

I inked just the "Christmas" on the "a very merry Christmas to you" from More Merry Messages with a Real Red Stampin' Write Marker. I cut it out with one of the Bitty Banner Framelits. I dotted the "j" with a Champagne Glimmer Paper star.

Joy 2
Inside I stamped images from the "Wishing You" stamp set.

I'm going to miss my paper issues of "Papercrafts". It seems like an oxymoron for a magazine named "Papecrafts" isn't available on paper anymore, but my blog is delivered to you digitally, so I guess that's just another bit of progress, isn't it?

You can order your Build a Banner Simply Created Kit (#133507 $19.95) from my Online Store. You can get there by clicking on the "shop now" button" here on my blog.

That's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping in to see me today. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
