Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blues and Golds!

Hey there! It's chilly, gray,  and dreary today. More like November than October. Time changes this weekend too. The year is winding down, isn't it?

Today I have TWO Gentle Peace cards for you:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_navy_1 - Copy

Night of Navy base, Soft Sky embossed with the Lucky Stars folder. A layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer cut with Stars Framelits. Same framelit to cut the white heat-embossed Gentle Peace image on Night of Navy. A few Rhinestones for extra sparkle.

Inside The Newborn King and Gentle Peace:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_navy_2 - Copy

I liked this design so well I created another in these colors:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_gold_1 - Copy

Basic Black base, Lucky Stars-embossed Brushed Gold, a Champagne Glimmer paper star, finishing up with a gold heat-embossed image on Cherry Cobbler. I colored a Rhinestone with my Gold Stampin' Dazzle marker to put in the center of the star.

Inside I continued the gold embossing with the star and phrase:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_gold_2 - Copy

That's all for now, but be sure to stop in to check out my final Gentle Peace card tomorrow!

Would you like to have the class handout for this Gentle Peace card from earlier this week?

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Blackberry Bliss!

Hey there! For today's Gentle Peace Week sample I went the more traditional route, coloring the "stained glass" image with Blendabilities alcohol markers:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_1 - Copy

I embossed the background with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Folder. After stamping the stained glass image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with the Blendabilites (I always loved my crayons when I was little, these are just big girl crayons!) I patted the whole image with a Versamark pad, then heat-embossed with Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder. Just the right sparkle!

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_2 - Copy

To create the background for the "merry Christmas" from Petite Pairs, I stamped the circular star image from Gentle Peace with Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White, stamped the greeting with Memento ink, then washed over both images with the medium Daffodil Delight Blendability. I then punched with my Word Window Punch.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_blackberry_bliss_3 - Copy

I love how well the images in The Newborn King set coordinate with Gentle Peace. I went clean-and-simple with just Memento ink Tuxedo Black ink on the inside.

That's all for today! There's still two more days of Gentle Peace Week left, so come back again tomorrow for more!

Here's the supply list for today's card. You can place your order in my online store any time of the day or night: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace in Hardwood!

Hey there! It's Wednesday already? Wow, time sure can fly! I created this card with the Gentle Peace set for a class coming up:

Stampin_up_Gentle_Peace_hardwood_1 - Copy

I wanted something clean-and-simple for the class since we don't have a lot of time on a week night, so I modified the card from yesterday to make it easier but still have the down-to-earth feel.

I simply stamped the main image with Early Espresso in on Naturals Ivory cardstock, cut it out with Paper Snips, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.

I inked the Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink to stamp on the Soft Suede layer.

After stamping the greeting with Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Naturals Ivory, I again used the banner framelit from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets to cut it out.

Before adding the greeting to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, I tied three strands pulled from an 8" piece of 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon into a knot and adhered to the side of the card with a glue dot. The Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the banner allow it to be adhered over the knot.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_hardwood_2 - Copy

Inside I stamped the main image from The Newborn King in the lower right corner with Crumb Cake ink and a greeting from the same set with Early Espresso.

Sponging the edges of the inside layer with Crumb Cake ink keeps the theme of the front in harmony with the inside.

That's all for now! Here's the supply list for today's project. Click on any image to find it in my online store or click on this link: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace is a Star!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace is a Star!

Hey there! I'm back again with another Gentle Peace creation combining the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Folder, Stars Framelits, and Early Espresso heat-embossing on Vellum cardstock:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_star_4 (2) - Copy

I used the Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink on the Soft Suede layer before embossing with the Woodgrain folder. After coating the backside of the Soft Suede layer with SNAIL adhesive and layering it to the Early Espresso card base, I cut through both layers with a Star framelit.

I embossed the Holy Family with Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss powder on Vellum cardstock, attaching it behind the star opening with glue dots. I covered the glue dots showing through the vellum with tiny stars punched with the Confetti Stars Punch, adhered with (you guessed it!) more glue dots!

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_star_4 (3) - Copy

The Whisper White inside layer was stamped with Hardwood and Crumb Cake ink. The sentiment from Gentle Peace is stamped with Early Espresso.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_star_4 (4) - Copy

Placing a battery candle between the folds could turn this into a really great luminaria card. Unfortunately I don't know which settings on my camera to use so I couldn't photograph the light shining through the vellum.

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_star_4 (1) - Copy

That's all for today! Be sure to keep coming back every day this week, there are still four more Gentle Peace cards to see!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace Week!

Stampin’ Up! Gentle Peace Week!

Hey there! It's Gentle Peace Week! I have six (yes SIX!) cards to show you this week created with the Limited-edition Gentle Peace Photopolymer set!

As soon as the Holiday Catalog came out, many of my stampers asked where the really awesome Nativity stamp set was this year. I had no answer, but Stampin' Up! did! I ordered this set almost as soon as it became available and couldn't wait to start playing with it, and play I did!

Today's example is in classic black and silver with a touch of gold:

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_1 - Copy

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" Basic Black card base, scored and folded at 5 1/2". I  layered next with 4" x 5 1/4" Brushed Silver.

After embossing the Holy Family with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder on the Basic Black 3 3/4" x 5" layer, I used the scalloped Delicate Designs folder to emboss the edges with the Big Shot.

I embossed the separately stamped star and the greeting with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. After punching the star with the 1" Circle Punch, I cut out the greeting with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlets Dies.

I added a Rhinestone to the center of the star for the finishing touch. LOVE those Rhinestones!

Stampin_up_gentle_peace_2

I stamped the inside sentiments from Gentle Peace and Trust God with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

That's all for now. Be sure to come back tomorrow to see card #2 in the Gentle Peace Week series!
