Stampin’ Up! His Light Graphic Background for Christmas Eve!

Stampin’ Up! His Light Graphic Background for Christmas Eve!

Hey there! It's Christmas Eve!  After  I finish this post I will be in constant motion until bedtime, which will be late since it is Christmas Eve! I will be  wrapping, cooking, and preparing beds for my kids to come sleep here tonight, but I wanted to share this one last Christmas card with you that I just had to create with my "graphic background" technique.

I used the large "Rejoice" from the His Light stamp set in the Holiday Catalog with gold embossing powder to create this card that really speaks the reason for the season for me:

Stampin_up_his_light_carolpaynestamps1

The His Light stamp set is retiring from the Holiday Catalog, so be sure to order your set before January 2nd. Available only while-supplies-last!

To heat emboss an entire background like this one I rubbed the paper all over with my Embossing Buddy first, then stamped "rejoice" with Versamark repeatedly, then sprinkled with gold embossing powder and then blasted it with my Heat Tool. Heat embossing is magical to watch happen! I heat embossed the Holy Family with gold powder on Blackberry Bliss card stock, then cut with a Bethlehem Edgelit.

Stampin_up_his_light_carolpaynestamps2

I used Gold Foil as my background layer on both the inside and outside.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day December 23rd, Dashing Deer!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day December 23rd, Dashing Deer!

Hey there! On this last Sunday before Christmas I need to share with you a bunch, and when I say bunch I mean BUNCH,  of NINE cards created with the Dashing Deer Bundle from the Holiday Catalog. This stamp set and framelits, ARE NOT retiring on January 2nd like so many other Holiday Catalog products are, but the bundle discount IS going away on that date!

The creator of this first card embossed the Pear Pizzazz frame cut with a Layering Oval Framelit with the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions folder, then added monochromatic accents cut with a Detailed Deer Framelit. She created the snowy scene with Pool Party and Whisper White card stock, then added "snow" with Embossing Paste. This card is CASED from page 8 of the Holiday Catalog!

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps2

Another CASE from the same page with Festive Farmhouse and Wood Textures Designer papers, Detailed Deer Framelits, and Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits. Clear & Frosted Epoxy Droplets were colored with Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends for the holly berries.

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps3

This sample makes good use of the "generation" stamping technique to get three shades of the deer by inking once and stamping three times. The focal piece was embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions folder.

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps4

This card features the Buffalo Check background stamp heat embossed with gold and the Pretty Label Punch for the greeting.

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps5

With the Dashing Deer stamp set along you can make a lovely simple card:

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps6

Add the Detailed Deer Framelits, Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions folder, Layering Circle framelits, and Copper Foil for a more stepped-up look:

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps7

Or use the Sprig Punch to step-it-up even more!

Stampin_up_dashing_deer_carolpaynestamps8

Finally, this card features an Old Olive background embossed with the Tufted Dynamic folder, Gold Foil and Gold Glimmer paper, and a layer of Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas to All!

Stampin’ Up! Merry Christmas to All!

Hey there! Alisa & I "shopped till we dropped" again yesterday, and I "think" I may be done! A few odds & ends for stockings, and now I just have to finish wrapping and getting my house ready! Oh, and a couple of special ornaments I want to make, and a birthday card to create! Sound like I can get it all done by Christmas Eve? We'll see!

Today I have more samples to share with you from Vacation Stamping School!

First, a quick & easy card created with the Tags & Tidings Bundle, which is retiring but not sold out yet, and the Merry Christma Thinlits Dies that are not retiring. The creator used the Big Shot Embossing Mats to emboss around the tags instead of cutting them out, then accented the card with Red Rhinestones and 3/16" Braided Linen Trim, which are also continuing to be available.

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_carolpaynestamps3

The designer paper used on this card is already sold out, but the Merry Merlot card stock, Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions folder, Stitched Shapes Framelit, Merry Christmas Thinlit die,and Gold Foil Sheets are not!

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_carolpaynestamps2

This card features my favorite phrase from the Merry Christmas to All stamp set! The Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Sprig Punch used are not retiring.

Stampin_up_merry_christmas_to_all_carolpaynestamps1

This beautiful card was created entirely with the Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle, which is on the retiring list. The Tranquil Tide card stock, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, and Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon are not retiring.

Stampin_up_peaceful_poinsettia_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, one last card for today, also created with the retiring Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle.

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods for the First Day of Winter!

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods for the First Day of Winter!

Hey there! Today at 4:23 p.m. is the Winter Solstice! It's felt like winter for quite awhile, and if it was about 10 degrees colder all of the rain we've been getting would be piles of snow!

In observance of the First Day of Winter, I'm sharing some cards created with the Winter Woods bundle and 1 more! These cards are all samples from Vacation Stamping School in August.

First, a simple but lovely card using those great bare trees from Winter Woods! The creator either a clear block to stamp the rectangle background or created a rectangular stencil to sponge the Pool Party ink before stamping with the trees with black ink. The addition of the layer of Gold Foil really gives this card an elegant look.

Stampin_up_winter_woods_carolpaynestamps1

The creator of this card also used those bare trees to stamp with Night of Navy ink on a Smoky Slate layer. They stamped the bold greeting with Night of Navy on white, then punched with the Everyday Label Punch. A bit of Silver Mini Sequin Trim and a vellum tree cut with an In the Woods Framelit are the finishing touches.

Stampin_up_winter_woods_carolpaynestamps2

The creator of this card used an In The Woods Framelit to cut the Very Vanilla Tree then embossed with the Quilt Top Textured Impressions folder. They mounted it on a Garden Green card base stamped with black ink and the Buffalo Check background. A greeting from Beautiful Blizzard cut out with a Stitched Labels Framelit, 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim, and Red Rhinestones complete the homespun look.

Stampin_up_beautiful_blizzard_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, this fun card was created with the Cross-Stitched Christmas set. This set is perfect to stamp with the Stamparatus. If you don't have a Stamparatus, get one! Once you start stamping with it, you'll be glad you did!

Stampin’ Up! Cards From Stamping Friends!

Stampin’ Up! Cards From Stamping Friends!

Hey there! I always love it when my stampin' friends send me Christmas cards they have made, and I have three to share with you today!

First, a cute creation by my friend Jan Lacey. Jan has been one of my dearest friends since waaaay back in our Freshmen year of High School! I won't tell you how many years ago that has been, but it "might" be close to 41! shhh! Does that mean we might be starting to turn in to "old ladies"? When we get together, no matter how long it's been, it feels like just yesterday since we talked and the years fall away! Jan used a few retired items on her card, but the Cookie Cutter Christmas and the Cookie Builder Punch are still available in the Annual Catalog:
Stampin_up_cookie_cutter_christmas_carolpaynestamps1-1
The Cookie Cutter Christmas sentiment Jan stamped with Real Red ink expresses my sentiments exactly!

Stampin_up_cookie_cutter_christmas_carolpaynestamps2

Next, I look forward to receiving Crystal Lopez' card every year, as she never disappoints with her extra-special embellishments and theme!

Crystal enjoys using products from multiple stamp companies and is a design team member for some, so she is an expert at mixing and matching from many sources! Her technique to sponge white ink over the embossed snowflakes background can be utilized with Stampin' Up! textured impressions embossing folders too!

Stampin_up_celebrate_the_season_carolpaynestamps

Finally, LeeAnn Byrne created an easily reproducible card with the Night in Bethlehem stamp set and the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. She used Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, and Whisper White for a simply elegant look.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps1

After punching the Holy Family with a 1 1/2" Circle Punch, she layered it onto a Night of Navy circle cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelit.

Stampin_up_night_in_bethlehem_carolpaynestamps2

LeeAnn and Jan both used the gatefold technique for their cards. I love how it frames the inside sentiment when it is opened!
