Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Good morning! Today is the day we celebrate all SIX of our family's August birthdays! Yay! Almost every month a family member has a birthday we all get together on the Sunday closest to the date for a family dinner. August is our biggest birthday month: Liam on the 3rd, Ava on the 5th, Kimberly on the 14th, Ben on the 23rd, me on the 24th, and Cody on the 31st. Since the birthdays just go on and on all month, we just pick a day, and today is it! We are going to Jessica's after church today for dinner, and then if the weather cooperates (which finally it has started being HOT like summer should be!) we will go swimming! Now, you know our family is big, (there are 17 of us now!) so we have a real fun time when we all get in the pool together! We divide up into teams and have relay races, create a "whirlpool", and just generally enjoy the time together! I can't wait!

Now that you know what kind of day I'm looking forward to, here are my swaps for Sunday Swap Day! My cards today are from on of the convention swaps I participated in. I'm sure glad I sent my swaps to convention with my downline girls!

Amy Combs created this fun card with the Snow Day stamp set in the Holiday Catalog. She also used the Festive Flurries stamp set, a Frosted Finishes Embellishment, Silver Ribbon, and Island Indigo 3/4" Chevron Ribbon! That cute little snowman is perfect stamped in Smoky Slate ink!

Next, Catherine Stephenson used Christmas Collectibles stamps, the Christmas Ornament Punch, Joy to the World stamps, Winter Frost Specialty Paper,  and the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Folder to create her "clean and simple" card:

The name on this card simply said "Donna". Donna silver-heat-embossed the Festive Flurry snowflake and cut it out with the Festive Flurry Framelits. A Basics Glimmer Brad adorns the snowflake center. She used Smokey Slate and Pool Party cardstock, Silver Glimmer Paper, Smoky Slate 3/4" Chevron Ribbon, and a Silver Foil Sheet cut with one of the Expressions Thinlits Dies for the "merry"! A lot of work went into this card, it's a shame she didn't include her full name.

Last but certainly not least, Gina Cardera used the Calm Christmas stamp set for her swap. The dove was stamped on Smokey Slate ink on the Shimmery White cardstock, then layered on Brushed Silver. "Peace on Earth" from the same set was stamped on the Winter Frost Specialty Paper layer with Smoky Slate ink.

A Frosted Finishes Embellishment is the perfect final touch!

That's all for now! I'm off to church, then to Jessica's and our family fun day!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry!

Stampin’ Up! Festive Flurry!

Good Monday morning to you! Hope you had a good weekend! I had a fun class on Saturday! Lots of lovely ladies here to stamp, which I love!

I actually had TWO classes happening at the same time that day; my monthly WOW (Simply WOW) Class and my monthly Christmas Card Class. It's exhausting, but TONS of fun!

Today's card is a CASE (with my own tweaks of course!) of a card by Kirsteen Gill using the Festive Flurry Bundle from the Hoiday Catalog:

Festive flurry 1

Kirsteen's was bling-less, but I added the Rhinestones, and used the cut-out piece from the center of the snowflake to stamp the greeting.

I used Smoky Slate for the card base. I love that we now have a light gray color again. I love our Brushed Silver & Gold cardstocks, but they are a bit pricey to use as a card base. Smoky Slate is a perfect silvery-gray color that can ecomonically used as the card base when the illusion of shine is needed.

I used Shimmery White for the top layer and the snowflake cut-outs. It's just the perfect weight and shine for the snowflakes on this card!

To make this card quick & easy, we used pieces of Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper inside the cut-out opening. Accented with Basic Jewel Rhinestones and stamped with a Petite Pairs greeting, this card is an easy WOW!

Festive flurry 2

Inside is also quick and easy: Smoky Slate-stamped Festive Flurry snowflakes and the corresponding phrase from Petite Pairs stamped in Island Indigo!

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day!

Stampin’ Up! Snow Day!

Good morning! We had a fun family birthday party for Ava last night! I love being able to spend time with my family!

Today's card is one we are making at my August Christmas card Class this afternoon:

Snow day 1

Isn't this little guy adorable? We will be using the Snow Day stamp set from page 25 of the new Holiday Catalog along with Season of Style Designer Paper from page 22, and the Naughty & Nice This and That Rotary Stamp from page 25!

Snow day 2
Inside we are stamping one of the phrases from the Warmth & Wonder hostess set on page 39 of the Holiday Catalog. The phrase and the snowflake stamp are part of this 7 stamp set that only hostesses are allowed to purchase with their Hostess Benefits.

You can be a Hostess two different ways:

1. Hostess an in-person party with me where you and your friends make two free cards (this can be local where I bring the party to you or I can ship a "party box" to you!)

2. Go to my website and submit an order that amounts to at least $150 before shipping and tax. Click on the "Shop Now" button here on this blog to go to my website.

Don't forget, all Online Orders of at least $25 qualify for my Bluesox Rewards Program!

That's all for now. Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Silver Glimmer Christmas Tree!

Stampin’ Up! Silver Glimmer Christmas Tree!

Good morning! We are in full Liam-mode around here! Nothing is safe from a 12-month-old! He makes me realize how far my house has come from being toddler-proofed! Needless to say, it's rapidly getting more "proofed" all the time!

I spent most of yesterday before Liam arrived running errands, helping Ben select his first i-phone, and getting groceries. I realized I hadn't done a serious supermarket run since before Oakley was born 3 weeks ago!

Today's card is one I created on Monday for my Christmas Card Class this coming Saturday. It's a pretty simple card, just some Pewter heat-embossing for the greeting from the Carryover List set Greetings of the Season and Silver Glimmer Paper strips. The addition of the Red Glimmer Paper Itty Bitty Shapes circles and the Silver Merry Minis Punch Pack star make it really festive!

Silver Glimmer Tree 1

Midnight Muse is the card base and focal image layer. I added the 1/2" wide Silver Glimmer "tree branch" strips with Tombow glue, as well as 1/2" Silver Glimmer strips around the edges of the Midnight Muse layer with the same adhesive. I wanted give the look of a solid mat of Silver Glimmmer paper behind the Midnight Muse layer without cutting full layers of the  glimmer paper, so opted for the 1/2" strips. I think it looks pretty good, what do you think?

Silver glimmer tree 2
The inside verse is from another Carryover List set, More Merry Messages, stamped in Midnight Muse ink.

That's all for now! If you are planning to come to class on Saturday, please RSVP soon!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
