Stampin’ Up! Geometrical Hooray for Today!

Hey there! Hope you enjoyed the hop yesterday! If you haven't taken the May Edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop: I Do!, click HERE to start at my blog, then hop all the way through 11 more blogs to see the imaginative wedding-themed creations we have for you!

Today I decided to share a quick and simple card using the Geometrical stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. This super-duper catalog expires in just a few short weeks, but thankfully this stamp set is carrying over, so you will still be able to order it at least until the end of May 2015!

Stampin_up_geometrical_1 - Copy

Supplies used on this card you will NOT be able to order after June 1st:

Midnight Muse 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock (sold out)

Midnight Muse inkpad (still available but the ink refill is sold out)

Summer Starfruit Stampin' Write Marker (from the 2012-2014 In Color Marker set which is NOT sold out yet)

Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper

Simply Stars Stamp Set (sold out)

In Color Dahlias

Stripe Textured Impressions Folder

Bring on the Cake Stamp Set (sold out)

Stampin_up_geometrical_2 - Copy

I apologize that so many of the products used on this card are now sold out. I decided to share it with you anyway because the layout is so simple and adaptable to future stamps, inks, designer papers, and embossing folders.

That's all for now. Below is the short  list of  products still availalble in my Online Store. Go get them today while you can! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’Up! “Best of Love” Collector’s Stamp Set Sample #2!

Stampin’Up! “Best of Love” Collector’s Stamp Set Sample #2!

Even though I am cancelling/postponing my "Best of Love" stamp class for now, I still want to show you another project I created for it, a lip-balm holder:
Lip balm 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I thought this phrase from "Best of Love", which is the brand-new phrase in the set, would be perfect to go with a lip-balm gift! What do you think?

Lip balm 2
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2013

I paired Raspberry Ripple cardstock with this design from the "Print Poetry" Paper Stack, adding Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and a Summer Starfruit Dahlia!

It was easy to ink up the "Read my lips" stamp. I first inked it with the Primrose Petals inkpad, then came back in and darkened the lips portion of the stamp with a Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Marker!

Well, I need to hurry. I have an appointment this morning with an eye specialist to see what needs to be done for my "narrow angle" problem.

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Card #3! Summer Starfruit?

Stampin’ Up! Best of Birthdays Card #3! Summer Starfruit?

For today's "Best of Birthdays" Class card, "you're the icing on the cake!" stamp and Sycamore Street Designer Paper:

Badge 1

©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

We used a quirked version of the "split negative" technique for the focal image, which was very easy to do. Just stamp image once on Whisper White, punch with 1 1/4" Circle Punch, then stamp again on Tangerine Tango and again on Island Indigo. Punch both with 1" Circle Punch, cut one cirle in half, then layer just half of it onto other full 1" circle to re-complete the image and you are done! Inside, phrases from the current Hostess-exclusive set, "Wacky Wishes":

Icing 2
©Stampin'Up! ™1990-2013

I have a confession to make, I really, really don't like Summer Starfruit, at least not whole layers of it. The card I'm going to show you tomorrow has a teeny-tiny little strip of it as an accent, which I can handle, but no matter how card I try, such as with this card, I just cannot like it. I'm sorry!

But you know, that's why Stampin' Up! has so many colors to choose from in their color palette, so there is something for everyone! I love this Company!

For those of you who would like a little more info for this card, here's the class handout you can download:

Stampin’ Up! French Foliage!

Stampin’ Up! French Foliage!

French Foliage, Torn Masking, Blessings From Heaven, Summer Starfruit

Sharing one of the techniques we used at my recent "Wonderfall" Card Bonanza earlier this month, "Torn Masking"! This was a swap I received at Founder's Circle Retreat in September. Unforutnately, I have lost the creator's name! (I think it may have been France Martin?) But it's beautiful and I LOVE the technique, it's both easy and elegant!

Gratitude 1
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Here's how you do it:

Cut a piece of scrap paper the same size as the layer you will be stamping on. In this case I started with a piece of Very Vanilla 4" x 5 1/4", so I cut my scrap paper the same size. I tore the paper in half down the middle. Nothing fancy, just tore toward myself in a fairly straight line.

Gratitude 3
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I applied 2-way glue to the back sides of the scrap paper and let it air dry for a few minutes. 2-way glue air-dries to Post-It Note consistency, hence the reason it is called "2-way"! I didn't coat the back with glue, I just put a few quick strokes with the 2-way glue pen on there. I added the two strips of scrap paper over the Very Vanilla layer, leaving a space open between the strips as shown below. I started with Summer Starfruit ink and applied it to the open area using a "swirling" motion with my Stampin' Sponge instead of the usual "dab or flick". (See how swirly it looks?)

Gratitude 4
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I continued adding swirls of ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Tangerine Tango, swirling the colors of ink and blending them into each other to get a "gradiation of color"!

Gratitude 5
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Next, I added stamping, using the gorgeous set, "French Foliage" and Early Espresso ink! The little scripty-phrase behind the leaves is also from "French Foliage" and was stamped with Crumb Cake!

Gratitude 6
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

Finally, I removed the scrap paper masks and voila!

Gratitude 7
©Stampin'Up!™1990-2012

I used my Adhesive Remover to take off a little dab of the 2-way glue that had stuck itself onto my card front, easy-peasy!

I threaded a piece of "Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon" through the holes of a "Brushed Bronze" Button and attached it and a greeting, "gratitude" from "Fabulous Phrases" that had been cut out with a "Bitty Banners" Framelit with a couple of Glue Dots!
