Stampin’ Up! Punch Puppy From Fiji!

Stampin’ Up! Punch Puppy From Fiji!

Good morning! Just a quick post here today, I'm running behind with my day and it's just getting started!

We had a good Father's Day celebration yesterday, beginning with a special song at church, "A Few Good Men"! My husband and SIL, Tony, (a young father of one, Liam!) sang in the mens' ensemble:

A few good men
Our father-of-four pastor, two young father's of two, a young father of about-to-be three, a young father of soon-to-be six, and one young unmarried fellow all came together to sing this inspiring song!

After church we spent the rest of the afternoon at Jessica's. PaPa Mark was able to spend time with all of his children and grandchildren. He's enjoying Jaxon & Liam, who are just a little over 7 months apart in age:

Papa's boys
Seating is not a problem when we get together (at least not as long as you can fit at the kiddie table!) Cohen informed me that the chairs at this table were "very strong, they have BIG NAILS in them"!

Kiddie table

We had hoped to be able to swim in Jessica's pool, but it was cloudy, not a good swim day at all, so we contented ourselves with indoor activities.

I want to share this card with you today. It is a case of one of my Fiji swaps. We made this card at the final Punch Class of the year back in May. I thought I had shared it with you already, but after checking my blog here I found that I hadn't, shame on me! One of my groups has asked to make it this month, so here it is:
Pink puppy 1
Doesn't her little tail just look like it's wagging?

Pink puppy 2

A fun card!

Well, I'd better get off this computer and get busy! I have a workshop at the Elkville Rick Warren Library tonight!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Gifts of Kindness!

Stampin’ Up! Gifts of Kindness!

Good morning! How are you doing today? I'm doing pretty good, I'm on the homestretch in the workshops this week. I actually have enjoyed the routine: get up in the morning, reorganize my workshop supplies, make sure I have enough M&T packets, then do whatever else I can fit in the day before it's time to get dressed to go. Drive to the workshop, stamp, laugh, and share with wonderful women friends, then home to submit the workshop. I could actually do with a couple of weeks like this EVERY month!

Today during the "whatever else I can fit in the day" time frame, I was able to sit down for about 30 minutes and create this using my new Gifts of Kindness stamp set!

Gifts of kindness 1
The card base is Beautifully Baroque-embossed Sahara Sand, layered with a strip of Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper. I inked the main floral image from Gifts of Kindness with Pear Pizzazz and Coastal Cabana Stampin' Write Markers, stamped on Very Vanilla, then cut out with one of the new Deco Labels Collection Framelits. The Modern Label-punched "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" is also from Gifts of Kindness. I love the font used for all the words and phrases in this set!

Here's the fun part of this card – it's a diorama card!

Gifts of kindness 3

Close up:

Gifts of kindness 2

Pretty neat, yes?

The inside window of the diorama is cut also cut with one of the Deco Labels Collection Framelits!

I have some ideas about this card, but you are going to have to wait to find out what they are! Hopefully you won't have to wait too long!

Well, that's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Clockworks for the Guys!

Stampin’ Up! Clockworks for the Guys!

Good morning! It's raining here this morning, which does NOT make my farmer hubbby happy. They still have some planting to do that has been rain-delayed for quite some time, and this mornings'  moisture is extending the delay more. But they will find something productive to do, so the day will not be wasted, just frustrating!

Today begins my four-workshops-in-five-days week! Eeeek! I've designed a couple of cards that I think will work for just about all of them all week. You saw the first one yesterday, the Happy Day "smile" card. Today's card is a masculine birthday/father's day one using Clockworks. I've designed and prepped the packets for this card so the stamper can choose to either create a birthday  or a Father's Day card:

Clockworks simple birthday 1

Since the Clockworks set lends itself so easily to a "collage stamping" look, I kept the layers to a minimum. The card base is the yummy new Baked Brown Sugar, stamped with Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, and Early Espresso. The Early Espresso banner is embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Folder, and the sentiment is from Best of Birthdays. We are adding a Naturals Designer Button with a little bit of Early Espresso Baker's Twine for the finishing touch!

Clockworks simple birthday 2

Inside we are stamping a phrase from the fun new Hostess Set, Express Yourself. This is the phrase I have chosen to go with this birthday card, but there are several other phrases (love you, celebrate, amazing you, best wishes) that would work just as well!

Clockworks simple dad 1

The Father's Day card is similar in design, we will just use the "hey there, friend" stamp from the My Paper Pumpkin Try It kit. We will omit the "friend" word by inking up with an Early Expresso Stampin' Write Marker, then we will add in the "DAD" with a stamp created with the photopolymer set, Designer Type! The splatter stamp is also from the MPP Try It kit. While the monthly kits are only available when you subscribe by the 10th of each month, the Try It kit is available for purchase at any time, so you CAN still get these two cute and versatile stamps! Go to My Paper Pumpkin to order your kit today!

Clockworks simple dad 2
Inside another Hostess Set, Banner Greetings!

I also have a stepped-up version of these cards with more layers and lots of sponging:

Stampin’ Up! Happy Day for Sunday!

Stampin’ Up! Happy Day for Sunday!

Good Morning! Today is a really amazing day for our church! The Carpenter's for Christ have been at Ina Free Will Baptist Church this past week everyday, 117 men from all professions and several different states, to raise the rafters and build the shell for our new sanctuary. They do the work for FREE, so they are saving our congregation thousands and thousands of dollars! They will be here for TWO whole weeks and since today is the weekend that connects those two weeks, we are having our church service with these men down at our local grade school so we have room for everyone, then after church we are all having a dinner together too! It's going to be a great day!

Yesterday I worked on my projects for my four workshops next week, and here is a really cute, happy one, inspired by Debbie Crawley, using the new catalog set, Happy Day!

Happy day 1

Strawberry Slush, Gumball Green, and Whisper White pair to make a cheerful statement to "Smile"! The flower is Strawberry Slush 2013-2015 In Color Designer Paper cut with a Floral Frames Framelit, and the flower stem is Gumball Green cardstock cut with the leaf from the Secret Garden framelits. The center of the flower is punched with the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch. Overall, a pretty Clean-and-Simple card!

Happy day 2
I just love this phrase from another new set, Really Good Greetings. I can tell I'm going to be using this set a lot this year!

Well, I've got to get finish getting ready for today! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow Once Again!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow Once Again!

Good Morning! How's your weekend going? I "think" I may actually be starting to feel better! It's about time, right? I consulted with my pharmacist tonight at Kroger and he suggested I switch my daily allergy medication to another brand. I had heard, and he confirmed, that our bodies get used to using one kind all the time and it stops working, so every couple of years or so we need to change to another brand! Amazing! I had never heard of that until this year, but I think that may have been the root of my sick-i-ness!!!!!

We had fun at "SWOW" class yesterday with our three projects. I haven't shown you the third one yet, but don't worry, I will!

Today, though, I returned again to a few more of my monthly swaps using Wildflower Meadow again! I just LOVE this stamp set – it has it all – beautiful graphics, it's own built-in polka-dot background, and a matching Textured Impressions Folder! Yikes!

Denise Sullivan created this beauty with a Crisp Cantaloupe card base & ink, with accents of Crumb Cake!

What I really love about this card, besides the "best wishes" banner from Express Yourself and In-Color Crisp Cantaloupe Designer Paper, is her use of the Flower Fusion Sizzlet to create the adorable coordinating blossom embellishment! ALL THREE layers of flower can be cut at the same time with this die! Easy-Peasy!

Wildflower meadow denise sullivan

Katy Simecka created this fun card with the same Wildflower Meadow stamp, Gingham Garden Designer Paper, circle punches, Label Love stamp and Artisan Label punch. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but she finished off each circle with a layer of Multi-purpose Adhesive Sheet and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It gives this set a whole NEW look, doesn't it?

One of the major things that I LOVE about Stampin' Up! is the way so many different people can start out with the same stamps, but by using additional products and different techniques, can end up with such VERY DIFFERENT BUT GORGEOUS results! It never gets boring, that's for sure!

Well, I need to get off here and get my workshops for next week prepped! I have a lot to do – I have four workshops in five days booked! Yikes!

Until tomorrow, hope your day Stampingrox!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow!

Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Meadow!

Good morning! I have one of my "SWOW! Class/Club" projects to share with you today, using the Wildflower Meadow suite of products!

"SWOW" means "Simply WOW"! This is a new Class/Club I am starting this month. It is:

  • Open to all stampers, new and advanced.
  • We will make three projects each month for a $15 fee, or the class is free with a $25 order placed at class. Projects will vary from month to month but will be on-trend, fun, sometimes punch, often technique, almost always using the Big Shot- in short, projects that "WOW" me!
  •  Attendees can either choose to become a "Club" member by committing to placing a $25 order each month in exchange to receive the 3 project packet (which includes instructions, of course!), or can just come whenever they choose.
  • The "Club" members will take turns receiving the Hostess Benefits from the combined total of all orders received for the monthly class. Hostess Benefits start at $25 free with an sales total of $150 and increases incrementally from there (see the top of page 201 for the complete Hostess Benefits Table)
  • Hostess months are assigned in the order in which attendees sign up to be a Club member. The June Hostess is Darlene Holloway.
  • Long-distance stampers CAN participate, thanks to the easy addition of the Hostess Code!
  • Hostess Code for this month's class is:

    G4ZPEJRT
  • To participate via the Hostess Code go to my website using the "Shop Now" Button in the upper left sidebar of this blog. When you get to my website, www.carolpayne.stampinup.net, click on the "Shop Now " under the "Products" tab. You will be taken to the Online Catalog. Make sure the screen looks like this and says "Carol Payne" in the upper right corner:
  • Carol payne 1
  • You will then be able to navigate the Online Catalog by clicking on the categories in the left-hand column, or on one of the product pictures along the bottom:
  • Carol payne stamps for blog
  • You MUST click on the picture of each item in order to have the opportunity to put it in your basket. This does not automatically add it, but the screen then looks like this:

Carol payne 2

  • Say you want to look at the Wood-mount stamps in the "Bring on the Cake" product suite. Click on the picture with the words "wood-mount" under it and the next screen will look like this:

Carol payne 3

  • Say you want to look at the "Blue Ribbon" stamp set more closely. Click on the picture or the words with the Blue Ribbon stamp set and this screen will come up:

  • Carol payne 4
To add this stamp set to your shopping bag, click on the blue highlighted words "Add to Bag", making sure the "QTY" number is "1" if that's how many of the item you want. The next screen will look like this:

  • Carol payne 7
From here you will need to have already created an account with your credit card info and shipping info included. This order will ship direct to you, not the hostess, so minimum $6.95 shipping will be applied.
  • Enter the Hostess Code in the highlighted box in the lower left side of the screen.
  • You then have the option to "update quantity", "check out", or "continue shopping" which is highlighted in the upper right of the screen.
  • It's as easy as that! Give it a try!
  • YOU MUST RSVP to me: 618-237-6281 or carol@carolpaynestamps.com to participate with an online order, attend, or join the club!
  • This month's orders will be taken through June 11th, which is the date of Darlene's in-home workshop to increase her Hostess Benefits with additional orders.

Now, with the housekeeping out of the way, here's the Wildflower Meadow project:

Wildflower meadow 1
This card was inspired by a "virtual swap" by Patsy Waggoner! I used the  Wildflower Meadow stamp set and Textured Impressions Folder, along with Perfect Pairs, one of the stamp sets that is 25% off right now during the "Grab Your Greetings" promotion!

Wildflower meadow 2
Inside I used one of the phrases from Sassy Salutations, another "Grab Your Greetings" 25%off stamp set!

Colors used are Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, and Melon Mambo!

I custom-colored the Whisper White Organza ribbon Melon Mambo this way:

  • I pre-cut my ribbon to 20 inches long per card so it could be tied into either a bow or a knot around the top card layer.
  • Wear rubber gloves for this process – ask me how I know this! Last night my fingertips were bright pink!
  • I created the Melon Mambo dye by filling a Stampin' Spritzer with 91% Rubbing Alcohol and 8 drops of Melon Mambo ink refill, screwed the cap back on the Spritzer and shook it carefully to mix.
  • I laid a couple of the ribbons in an old powder pal (any non-porus container will do) and spritzed with the alcohol/ink mixture, moving the ribbon length into the powder pal and spritzing heavily because I wanted my ribbon to be BRIGHT pink!

  • Wildflower meadow 3
  • After the entire length of ribbon has been saturated with color, remove the ribbons and place between two paper towels to remove the excess ink.

  • Wildflower meadow 4
  • When most of the excess ink is removed, lay the ribbons aside for a few minutes so the alcohol moisture can evaporate, leaving you with delicously custom-colored ribbons!

  • Wildflower meadow 5
There you are! Custom-dyed ribbon AND an Online Ordering Tutorial all in one day! Whew!

Well, that's all for now! I still have organizing and prep for Friday to get to. Hope to hear from some of you today that are coming, participating online, or joining my fun new club!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
