Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Four!

Hey there! Today I need to just jump right in and share my final card in my Acorny Thank You series:

After embossing the Rich Razzleberry background layer with the Woodland Textured Impressions Folder I added Into the Woods Designer Series Paper Leaves cut with the Leaflets Framelits Dies.

It felt like it needed a bit more "rustic", so I added loops of thread from the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon. I folded the threads, adding them with glue dots behind the leaves. The "thankful" banner is also from the Acorny Thank You set, and of course, I had to add a Into the Woods Element!

The sentiment inside is from Lighthearted Leaves, surrounded by Acorny Thank You acorns.

Stampin’ Up! September Online Classes!

Hey there! Today is my 38th wedding anniversary! I KNOW. Aren't we still only 29?

I'm thankful for my husband and the life we've built together. With all of our children now in adulthood, we are enjoying the blessings of our labor of love:

Since this October of 2014 pic we've added two more little ones to the Payne Clan, Lando Ronan Hiller and Darcy Anne Jenkins!

BTW, we only have Son-in-laws, no Daugher-in-laws. All 8 of these grandbabies do not have the Payne last name!

I'm so thankful that God blessed me with my handsome, honest, hardworking, trustworthy, stubborn husband, our 3 daughters, 3 sons, 3 son-in-laws, and 8 grandchildren. My life is full and blessed!

Stampin’ Up! September Online Classes!

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You Card Number Three!

Hey there! Today I have card #3 in my Acorny Thank You series!

For today's creation I adhered 3/4" wide strips of Into the Woods Designer Paper on the diagonal to the Whisper White, trimming the ends even with the layer with my Paper Snips.

I was able to easily stamp the "SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU" along the top edge of the paper strip, and the Into The Woods Element acorn coordinated perfectly with the stamped and punched Acorny Thank You acorn. I added an Old Olive leaf stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and one of the Lighthearted Leaves stamps for more contrasting color, cutting it out with a Leaflets Framelits die. I wrapped the layer with a long thread from the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon.

Inside I added just one Into The Woods Designer Paper strip and a partial phrase from Lighthearted Leaves that I masked off with wrapping tape before inking.

Tip when masking off images with tape: add the tape over the part of the image (or words) you want to omit from your final image. Ink the stamp. BEFORE YOU STAMP ON YOUR PAPER REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE TAPE FROM THE INKED IMAGE!

The Emily Bronte quote also included in the Lighthearted Leaves set.

Stampin’ Up! Acorny Thank You and New Weekly Deals!

Hey there and good morning! Hope your Labor Day weekend was as lovely as mine was! Three and a half days away with my hubby! yay!

Today I'm sharing the second card in my Acorny Thank You series. This card coordinates with the card I showed you last Friday. Today I used Dotty Angles to stamp the background with Rich Razzleberry ink and corner rounded the edges with the Envelope Punch Board.

I'm really loving the new Into the Woods 3/8" Cotton Ribbon in Rich Razzleberry! I added in a little leaf from the Into the Woods Elements just because they are sooooo stinkin' cute!

I punched lots of little banner with my Banner Punch to add to the front and inside to pull in more of the designs from the into the Woods Designer Series Paper.

Stampin’ Up! Labor Day Greetings!

Hey there! As I was starting to write this post, I started thinking about Labor Day. How did it start? Why do we celebrate it? I googled it, of course, and in a nutshell, this is what I found on Wikipedia:

Labor Day in the United States is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.

I also found that some originally wanted to celebrate it on May 1, but the first Monday in September was chosen instead. How weird would it have been to have two national holidays observed in the same month? I glad they chose to "bookend" summer with Memorial Day and Labor Day!

I'm still vacationing with my hubby in Branson, MO, today, but we will be heading home tonight. I don't have a creation to share with you right now, just the Labor Day origin info (hope your'e not too disappointed), but I WILL be back tomorrow with a new card, the second in my series using the Acorny Thank You set! Please come back tomorrow!
