Our Family Pictures!

Our Family Pictures!

Hey there! No card sharing today, but I'll be back tomorrow with a new creation to kick off the 2021 January-June Mini Catalog. Today I'm sharing our annual family Christmas card and pictures of our growing family.

First, our family Christmas card. We took most of these pictures in September during our September family birthday celebration. Right now we have birthdays in all months of the year except March and June!

My daughter, Jessica, is our photographer. She used a timer to set up the shots and jump in before the shutter snapped!

The back side of our card featured all of the grands. Left to right back row: Oakley, Maddie Kate, Ava, Cohen, and Liam.

Front row left to right: Jaxon (holding Avara), Darcy, Cyndal, Fiona, Ivory, and Lando.

Now I will share individual family pics. Starting with Jessica's family left to right: Luke Thompson (Maddie Kate's fiance'), Maddie Kate, Jessica, Johnny, Cohen, Ava, with Jaxon in the front.

Last but certainly not least, our youngest son, Benjamin. He is currently living with us again while he takes classes to become a high school English teacher.

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Strawberry Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Strawberry Sneak Peek!

Hey there and Happy New Year! I didn't stay up to ring in the new year because we are finally having our family Christmas today and I've been pacing myself all week getting ready. This COVID crap is just that, it makes you weak and tired, even if you don't have a bad case, which we are thankful it was mild. I'm finally getting an appetite and just finally generally feeling better. Now to just get in some mild exercise so I can get my strength back!

Today I have a fun card to share that I created with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and the Berry Blessings Bundle you can choose for free when you spend $100 all at once beginning on January 5th through February 28th!

Stampin_up_sweet_strawberry_carolpaynestamps1

I created this card for a swap I signed up for but was unable to mail because I couldn't get out to the P.O. due to our quarantine. I also really didn't like to think that I might be mailing the virus along with my cards!

I love the coordination Stampin' Up! has provided with the Strawberry Builder Punch punching both the images in the Sweet Strawberry stamp set and the berries in the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper that is part of the $100 earn bundle in the 2021 Sale-a-bration brochure!

Stampin_up_sweet_strawberry_carolpaynestamps2

I stamped the berry top with Garden Green ink on Garden Green card stock, then punched with the Strawberry Builder punch to add to the berry.

Stampin_up_sweet_strawberry_carolpaynestamps4

I used one of my favorite punches, the Tailored Tag, to punch the greeting from Sweet Strawberry, as well as the Flirty Flamingo mat tag behind it. I added a single Cherry Cobbler Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewel for some bling. You can find them in the Annual Catalog!

Stampin_up_sweet_strawberry_carolpaynestamps2

The inside sentiment is from the Berry Blessings stamp set, which is paired with the Berry Delightful Designer Series paper in the Sale-a-bration Catalog. All you have to do to get this bundle is spend $100 before tax & shipping!

Stampin’ Up! Garden Wishes Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Garden Wishes Sneak Peek!

Hey there! On this last day of 2020 I want to just say that while this year has not be anything like any of us expected, I'm still thankful for life, for my family, and for my Savior. HE is what has brought us through this year and I am praying 2021 is better for everyone!

Today I have a few cards to share that I have created with the new Garden Wishes Bundle from the upcoming January/June Mini Catalog. I also used the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder and the Curvy Dies that are also in the mini.

First, a Bumblebee/Whisper White creation with a Smoky Slate base and the bee stamped on Smoky Slate:

Stampin_up_garden_wishes_carolpaynestamps8 (2)

Inside sentiment from Garden Wishes:

Stampin_up_garden_wishes_carolpaynestamps7 (2)

I made this one "pop" a bit more by using a Basic Black mat behind the flowers:

Stampin_up_garden_wishes_carolpaynestamps4 (2)

My favorite is this one stamped with Rich Razzleberry ink:

Stampin_up_garden_wishes_carolpaynestamps1 (2)

When I added Clear Wink of Stella to the blooms it blurred the ink just a bit, which I liked!

Stampin_up_garden_wishes_carolpaynestamps2

The blooms and the Rich Razzleberry mat behind them were all cut with a Dandy Wishes die. I cut the Rich Razzleberry layer in half so I could "stretch" it to fit around the stamped blooms. I adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Fine Art Floral with Gilded Leafing!

Stampin’ Up! Fine Art Floral with Gilded Leafing!

Hey there! Today I have my last sneak peek with the Fine Art Floral Suite. This card has a decidedly Asian feel to it and I used new Gilded Leafing from the suite to create the background.

Stampin_up_art_gallery_gilded_leafing_carolpaynestamps1

This card turned out to be gorgeous and I love it. However, the Gilded Leafing is a challenge to use so unless you are up for a mess I wouldn't recommend it to the faint of heart.

Let me explain. I started off by stamping the bloom repeatedly on a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Basic Black with Versamark,  sprinkled the with the Heat & Stick Powder from the suite. You need to be very careful when heating Heat & Stick; it's very easy to overheat and then it won't be sticky. I used my heat tool from the underneath side of the card stock to keep from overheating. Then I laid the sticky layer in a tray and sprinkled the Gilded Leafing over the entire piece. I smashed the leafing into the sticky with my fingers and then used a dry brush to flick away the excess leafing. This took awhile and lots of tiny pieces flew everywhere; it was impossible to keep it all in the tray.

Unless you are fond of cleaning up tiny bits of leafing from your work surface, hands, and clothes, I'd leave this off your wish list. Sorry to give it a poor review, but I wouldn't want you to be misled. I will probably play with it again, but I'm also going to re-create this card with gold heat embossing for a much cleaner result. After stamping the bloom with Poppy Parade ink I quickly sprinkled it with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heated with my Heat Tool. I cut it and the Mossy Meadow-stamped stem with Floral Gallery Dies.

Stampin’ Up! Another Art Gallery Sneak Peek!

Stampin’ Up! Another Art Gallery Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Today I want to share with  you another card I created with the Fine Art Floral Suite! This time I created a "book-style" card so I could feature both sides of the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper:

Stampin_up_art_gallery_carolpaynestamps1

For this card I only cut out the "just" from the "just want to say" die cut to coordinate with the "thinking of you" sentiment. Originally "I'm thinking of you" in the Art Gallery stamp set, I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker to omit the "I'm".  I cut it out with a Floral Gallery Die, then layered on a strip of Basic Black. I framed it with a Gilded Gem on each end to complement the strip of Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate I added over the Basic Black "spine" of the card front.

Stampin_up_art_gallery_carolpaynestamps2
I stamped the inside with a sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set, another new one from the January/June 2021 Mini Catalog. See how pretty the other side of the designer paper I used for the front flap is? I have the measurements below so you can make a card like this one too!

Stampin_up_art_gallery_carolpaynestamps3

Measurements for today's card:

Basic Black card base: 5 1/2" x 5 1/4", scored at 4 1/4"

Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper front: 4" x 5 1/2"

Basic Black to cut "just": 1 1/2" x 3" greeting mat: 5/8" x 3"

Golden Garden Designer Specialty Acetate: 3/4" x 5 1/2"

Whisper White greeting strip: 1" x 3" inside layer: 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"

Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper inside strip: 1/2" x 3 3/4"

You will be able to order the Fine Art Floral Suite and all of it's components beginning January 5th!

Until then you probably should check out the Year End Closeout Retiring List and Clearance Rack. You can view the list here:
