Stampin’ Up! Apron of Love for Mom!

Hey there! Sometimes I think I'm going to make a card a certain way, but then during the process the card becomes something else entirely! Such was the case with this Apron of Love card today. I intended to make a masculine card for a "best Dad ever", but it ended up being for Mom!

I used Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, Apron of Love Bundle, and Perennial Birthday stamps to create this:

I heat-embossed the apron and flowers with white powder, cut with an Apron Builder Framlit die, then layered on ovals cut with Stitched Shapes Framelits and Layering Oval Framelits. Rhinestone Basic Jewels provide touches of bling.

The embossed Petal Palette flowers on the apron match the stamped flowers inside, which frame a Perennial Birthday sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Brusho Bloom and Black!

Hey there! Today's card is a happy accident! Brusho crystals bled over the embossed edges, so I cut away the rest of the square. The the vibrantly painted bloom is a striking contrast with the black!

Yellow Brusho for the center, Brilliant Red for the Bloom, and Moss Green, Yellow, and Prussian Blue for the leaf. I sprinkled Moss Green on a clear block, swirled with a little AquaPainter water, then sprinkled & swirled yellow separately. I added a bit of yellow to the green, then I added a tiny bit of water swirled Prussian Blue. The color combos are endless!

The rest of the card is the same as my earlier version, with the exception I added a layer of Smokey Slate under the stamped white layer.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Petal Palette February 11!

My friend Mary Ellen Stites added a Pool Party watercolor wash to the Petal Passion Designer Series paper background to complement the little bluebird from Petal Palette:

Angela Waters used classic black-and-white for her clean-and-simple card.

I stamped this card at the OnStage make-n-takes in Salt Lake City last November; coloring select flowers with a Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Marker.

BJ Peters, colored pearls with her Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends Marker to accent her card.

Jessica Brigden sponged Pear Pizzazz ink on the Petal Passion Designer paper, as well as on the rose leaves. She sponged Sweet Sugarplum on the roses, then added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella for some shine!

Finally, Georgia Giguere used classic Basic Black, Whisper White, and Daffodil Delight for her cheery card:
