Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day October 17th!

Hey there! Today is Sunday, so of course I have swaps to share!

First, a Penguin Place slider card by Linda Pagel!

Stampin_up_penguin_place_carolpaynestamps1

She combined Pansy Patch sentiments with one from Penguin Place.

Stampin_up_penguin_place_carolpaynestamps2

A full pull shows the rest of the Pansy Patch sentiments.

Nancy Juliano combined the Snow Wonder stamp set with Wintry Embossing folder and Beauty of the Earth Designer paper. The sentiment is from Time of Giving from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Stampin_up_snowman_season_carollpaynestamps1

She used a fun-fold called a bridge fold.

Stampin_up_snowman_season_carollpaynestamps2

I just wanted to show you how pretty these snowflakes and swirls are from Time of  Giving!

Stephanie Flath used the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle with Sweet Stockings Designer Paper to create her swap:

Kelly Schudi also used Sweet Little Stockings, combining with Stitched So Sweetly Dies:

This card is a fun-fold too!

Finally, Chris Wedell used the Whimsy & Wonder Collection for her creation:

Stampin’ Up! Chalkboard Technique!

Stampin’ Up! Chalkboard Technique!

Hey there and welcome to the October edition of the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! Our October theme is a fun technique, Chalkboard!

1800397_10152216696440070_2004070056_n

I used the Merriest Moments Bundle to create two card with the Chalkboard Technique. First I cut & embossed the frame with Snowy White 12" x 12" specialty paper using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps1-1

I heat embossed the sentiment from Merriest Moments using white embossing powder and my Heat Tool. After heating, I cut it out with the rectangle die from the set (the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder name is a bit misleading, the package also contains dies) then added smudges of white craft ink using a Blending Brush to look like an old-fashioned chalkboard.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps2-1

The poinsettia image is from Merriest Moments. I cut it and the gold bloom with more dies from the Merriest Frames pack. I finished it off with a Gilded Gem.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps3

These little cuties are part of it too. I cut them from Cherry Cobbler card stock!

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped another Merriest Moments sentiment with black ink.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps5

For my second chalkboard creation, I used Blushing Bride for a softer color palette.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps6

I used the same heat embossing method as with the first card, then added the chalkboard smudges again with white craft ink and a Blending Brush.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps7

The Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder includes these pretty scattered "sparkles" when you emboss an entire layer of card stock.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps8

I tied a few inches of Blushing Bride 3/8" Frayed Grosgrain in a pretty knot then wrapped the ends around the chalkboard layer.

Stampin_up_merriest_moments_carolpaynestamps9

Inside and out I added a few Elegant Gems in the Petal Pink color for some sparkle. I stamped the inside sentiment with Blushing Bride ink.

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Mountain Air!

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Mountain Air!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing the card I created for my monthly mail-in swap. One of our choices for this month was to make a masculine birthday card, so I used the Mountain Air and Stacked Stone stamp sets with sentiments from Sweet Strawberry to create this:

Stampin_up_mountain_air_carolpaynestamps1

After I decided the stamp set I wanted to use, then I looked through the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack and chose this textile design that is sort of Night of Navy but almost Basic Black or Basic Gray. I decided to use Basic Gray card stock and ink and Smoky Slate card stock for the Neutral to stamp the focal image and inside layer.

Stampin_up_mountain_air_carolpaynestamps2

I cut the focal image layer with a Seasonal Labels die, as well as the Stacked Stone-stamped layer underneath it. I stamped the mountains first with Basic Gray, cleaned the stamp, then stamped just the tops of the mountains with White Craft Ink. I stamped the moon with White Craft as well, then added sparkle with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. The greeting is from Sweet Strawberry.

Stampin_up_mountain_air_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I repeated the same stamping process for the mountains and moon, then stamped the sentiment from Sweet Strawberry, omitting the rest of the words, "you sweet thing" by cleaning off the ink with a baby wipe before stamping.

Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Beauty Nature’s Harvest!

Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Beauty Nature’s Harvest!

Hey there! Today I have another birthday card to share with you! This time it is the card I created for my daughter, Alisa's birthday that we also celebrated this past weekend. I used the Nature's Harvest Bundle with Blackberry Beauty Specialty Paper to create this fun-fold card. I am including the dimensions for this card near the bottom of this post:

Stampin_up_blackberry_harvest_meadow_carolpaynestamps1

I inked the cone flower image with Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Write Markers to stamp on Very Vanilla. I then colored the petals with a Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends and the stems and leaves with a Light Old Olive Stampin' Blend. I went back over the stems and leaves with a Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blend. I love how especially the Light versions of the Stampin' Blends Markers have an opaque look to them that lets you layer colors to get a new color you need but don't have any other way! After cutting them out with a Harvest Die I added Clear Wink of Stella to the cone flower tops for a bit  of shimmer.

Stampin_up_blackberry_harvest_meadow_carolpaynestamps3

I used my Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Marker on this sentiment from Quiet Meadow to omit the words to leave just "Heartfelt love" for stamping.

Stampin_up_blackberry_harvest_meadow_carolpaynestamps5

The final sentiment is from Sunny Sentiments, also stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.

Stampin_up_blackberry_harvest_meadow_carolpaynestamps6

I had fun putting this card together! I want to give this fun fold a try with a Christmas theme!

Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings!

Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing the card I made for Ivory's 5th birthday party with the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle and Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper:

IMG_2953 (2)

I used a greeting from Best Year for the front, accented with a strip of Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum from the In Color Shimmer Vellum pack and a Polished Pink In Color Jewel.

IMG_2954 (2)

I used Layering Circles dies to cut the opening on the card front and the layers behind and around the intricately die-cut butterfly. I cut the pink layer from Polished Pink In Color Shimmer Vellum and added Polished Pink In Color Jewels for some bling.

IMG_2955 (2)

Inside I stamped another sentiment from Best Year. The Blushing Bride animal print from the Pattern Party Host Designer pack compliments well with the Polished Pink!

Stampin’ Up! Little Pumpkin Banner!

Stampin’ Up! Little Pumpkin Banner!

Hey there! Today I want to share with you the banner I created for Grace & Troy's baby shower! The shower theme was "A Little Pumpkin Is On The Way". Grace asked me to create a banner saying "Little Pumpkin", and this is what I came up with (with a little inspiration help from Etsy) :

Stampin_up_you're_a_peach_pumpkin_banner_carolpaynestamps2

I'm sorry the above picture is so tiny. We forgot to bring a regular camera to the shower, so all of today's pictures are from a phone.

This pic is larger, (although I have no idea why) so you can see the detail better of the You're A Peach and Pattern Party Host Designer Paper I used and the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder I used on some of the pumpkin centers. I also used the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing folder and the Animal Print embossing folder.

To create the pumpkin background and the inner pumpkin, I found two complementing pumpkin shapes at (cough) Hobby Lobby to trace my shapes. I cut off the portions I didn't need, then used the stem of the larger pumpkin to trace onto Gold Foil Paper. After drawing my own twirling vine, I also traced it onto Gold Foil. I cut everything out with my Paper Snips with the exception of the Gold Foil letters, which were cut with a retired set of Stampin' Up! alphabet dies with Foam Adhesive Sheets adhered before cranking through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. The leaf is cut from Gold Foil using a Stitched Leaves die. All were then embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder. I attached everything together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To add the hanging string, I used Foam Adhesive Strips on the back of each pumpkin to create a channel for the Baker's Twine. This allows each pumpkin to be adjustable when hung.

I finished the back with another small pumpkin that matched the front. The Foam Adhesive Strips are double-sided adhesive just like a Stampin' Dimensional so they are perfect for this project!
