I took a picture of this card at Spring Into Stamping just so I could remember this cute use for this punch. Now before I even have a chance to use it I find out the Lace Ribbon Border Punch is retiring! booo!

Pretty much everything else about this card is retiring too: Loved Ones stamp set retiried with the Occasions Mini, Fresh Vintage was a Sale-a-bration set so is no longer available, and the brad and ribbon were also from SAB! I hope to get a chance to feature this punch one more time at my next Punch Class in May and hope the supply of this punch is not exhausted before then! If this punch was on your "wish list", you'd better order it today!

Stampin’Up! Summer Smooches and Loved Ones!

Now that you have had a chance to view all of the retiring lists, how about a few cards?

These cards are the result of my stamping for my "Spring Into Stamping" presetation last Saturday. These cards are all made with the Summer Smooches DSP, Blossom Party Die, Scallop Square Duo Die, and the Occasions Mini set, "Loved Ones"!

I liked the colors and the layout, but something was just not quite right, so I changed the greeting colors to this with Not Quite Navy, Real Red, and Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Markers:

And I loved it! It's amazing how just changing the color scheme of the greeting "Mom" made all the difference between o.k. and WOW!

As a tie-in for my presentation with the Big Shot Multi-Purpose Adhesive Sheets (which are NOT on the Retiring Accessories List! YAY!), I did another card identical except for adding the Adhesive Sheets on the cardstock before going through the Big Shot with the Blossom Party Die, then adding Dazzling Diamonds:

A completely different look, adding the glitter! It mutes the bright colors, but is truly "dazzling"!

"Loved Ones" will only be available for 5 more days, when the Occasions Mini expires. And unfortunately, the Summer Smooches Fabric Brads are no longer available, as the supply was just for this month and has now been exhausted. The Flower Brads are on the Retiring Accessories List but currently still available, so you need to check out those lists and get your orders in early! I'm really digging the bold, bright colors in the Summer Smooches Suite! The "grandma" word is from "Loved Ones" in the soon-to-be-expired Occasions Mini, and "you're the BEST!" is from the "Perfect Words" Hostess set!

I'm still working on the projects for next week's Punch/Technique Class. The next technique we will be learning, along with the VersaShadow and Embossed Kissing, is the Herringbone technique, a great way to use up all of those little scraps of DSP we all have piling up! This technique is also another great use for the MultiPurpose Adhesive Sheets!
