Stampin’ Up! Brides & Babies Class Samples!

Stampin’ Up! Brides & Babies Class Samples!

Good morning! It's "Brides & Babies" class day here at my house! I showed you the "Babies" part of the class yesterday, and now it's time for the "Brides"!

This first sample is a CASE of a swap I received at Leadership in January created by Tamie Ackerson. I've been waiting five MONTHS to show this to you and actually created the class just so I could make this card with my stampers! For awhile I thought I wasn't going to get the job done, as this set, "Love & Laughter" was in the now-ended Occasions Mini Catalog, but after receiving my NEW ANNUAL CATALOG early (which is one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!), I was very excited to see that this set will now be available for the next whole year! Yay!

Next I have another CASE, this time of a beautiful card I found on the blog of Robin Merriman! I met Robin at my very first Founder's Circle Retreat in 2008, and she is just a beautiful person inside and out! The shimmer on the Very Vanill embossed surfaces is from the "Frost White Shimmer Paint" I sponge-daubered onto it! Sadly, the lovely scalloped border on the lower edge of the embossed panel is from the retiring "Lace Ribbon Border Punch", which will only be available for 12 more days!

I really like the inside, which is my own design:

Last but not least, this is our final "Brides & Babies" class card, the Bride & Groom! I've been dying to make a card like this for a couple of years, so the idea is obviously not new, but I just hadn't come up with an acceptable template for the dress and wasnt' sure how to go about making the "tux" until I ran across some little cheapy-looking wedding dress shower favor boxes at my local dollar store and the lightbulb came on! After using one side of the box as my template to trace out the dress form, I then realized that the "Pennant Builder Punch" would be perfect for the tux' shirt! After punching the shirt from Shimmery White cardstock to match the dress, I layered the triangle onto a scrap of Basic Black and hand-cut the lapels. I used my Versamarker (on the retired list!) along the black lapel edges, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

I put a matching petal-snipped Itty Bitty Shapes Punch scalloped flower inside to match the one on the dress sash! The pearl has been colored pink with a permanent marker. It dries quickly so it's not messy to handle when you are ready to apply to the card!

Well, I'd better run! I have a few more things to get ready before my stampers start arriving at 10 a.m.!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!

I took a picture of this card at Spring Into Stamping just so I could remember this cute use for this punch. Now before I even have a chance to use it I find out the Lace Ribbon Border Punch is retiring! booo!

Pretty much everything else about this card is retiring too: Loved Ones stamp set retiried with the Occasions Mini, Fresh Vintage was a Sale-a-bration set so is no longer available, and the brad and ribbon were also from SAB! I hope to get a chance to feature this punch one more time at my next Punch Class in May and hope the supply of this punch is not exhausted before then! If this punch was on your "wish list", you'd better order it today!

Until tomorrow, have a "Stampingrox!" Day!
