Stampin’ Up! New Catalog Sneak Peek Sweet Songbirds!

Hey there! The 2022-2023 New Annual Catalog goes live just two weeks and one day from now, so I decided to give you a little sneak peek of one of the most adorable new bundles, as well as a couple of the new In Colors!

I used the Sweet Songbirds bundle of stamps/punch with Parakeet Party and Orchid Oasis to create this cute card! These products and more will be available to order beginning on May 3rd!

I stamped the bird with Orchid Oasis in on Basic White card stock then punched with the Songbird Builder Punch. I stamped the eyes and feet with an image from the Sweet Songbirds set, and punched the wing from new 2022-2-24 In Color Designer Series Paper. The music notes, also stamped with Orchid Oasis, are from Sweet Songbirds. The tiny bird with musical notes, is found in the Peekaboo Farm set. I stamped with Orchid Oasis, darkened the eye and wing with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, then colored with a new Orchid Oasis Stampin' Blend. The birdies sit on a branch and leaves from Sweet Songbirds stamped with Crumb Cake and new Parakeet Party ink.

I embossed the Parakeet Party background layer with the returning Musical Notes 3D embossing folder.

I also added a 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip of Parakeet Party 6" x 6" Ombre Glimmer Paper for a bit of sparkle!

Hey there! I've been MIA for a few days while I work on the pile of memories that have been removed from my attic; sorting into sections for each of my children to go through and decide what they want to keep, throw away, or put in the yard sale. It's a daunting task, and even though we worked on it alllllll week, I still haven't gone through it all (the papers take the longest), and there's still more up there!

I have managed to get it sorted through enough to be able to have Easter Part 1 here today. Most of my kid's families will be here next Sunday to celebrate, but we will be celebrating Resurrection Day today with Kimberly's family.

Today I have juat a few cards to share. Not as many as usual, but hey, you probably are pretty busy today too, aren't you?

First, a card from Janace Charbonneau. She used Catch You Later from the January/June Mini Catalog (available thru June 30th) with Scalloped Contour Dies and retiring Greenery 3D embossing folders.

Shelly Gruber used the retiring Wild Cats Bundle of stamps and dies with In the Wild Designer Paper and Animal Print Embossing Folder. to create her fun fold card. All of these products are retiring on May 2nd and are currently available to order, unlike many of the other stamp sets and products on the Last Chance Retiring List!

Hey there! Hey there! I don't have a project to share with you today. We've been Spring Cleaning at my house, starting with our attic containing over 30 years of accumulation. Whew! My advice is don't wait that long to tackle it!

BUT I do wantt to share the cover of the New Annual Catalog, which starts on May 3rd. I will send you the new catalog for free if you need one and do not have your own Stampin' Up! demonstrator who you order from and will be sending you the new catalog.  Send me an email with your Snail Mail address: carol@carolpaynestamps.comcarol@carolpaynestamps.com

Just like everything else right now, Stampin' Up! has announced an small increase in the prices of some items in the New Annual Catalog. Here's a graphic showing the categories affected:

Minimum shipping is also increasing $1, from $6.95 to $7.95. Workshop order shipping will be 11%. Actually not a terribly large increase since Stampin' Up! hasn't raised their shipping prices in over 10 years.

Now for some fun news!

Here's a peek at the new In Colors for 2022-2024! Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky, and Orchid Oasis are cute names and are even prettier in person! I have received my box of pre-ordered items and am dying to play! I hope to be playing Friday and Saturday. I have some mail-in swaps to get posted out!

Stampin’ Up! Heart & Home Daisies!

Stampin’ Up! Heart & Home Daisies!

Hey there! Last weekend I attended a wedding shower for our nephew, Ryan, and his bride-to-be, Olivia, at our church. I made a card for the gift, so of course I created two cards so I had one to keep!

I used Heart & Home Designer Paper, the Medium Daisy Punch, and Celebrating You. The Misty Moonlight card stock, ink, and Stampin' Blend I used to color the Pearl Basic Jewel for the flower center are all retiring, but they matched the Misty Moonlight in the paper, so I had to use them!

After I punched two Medium Daisies from Basic White card stock and glued them together, I ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine inside the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I finished each daisy with a pearl colored with a Light Misty Moonlight Stampin' Blend.

I stamped the greeting from Celebrating You directly on the whitewashed print from Heart & Home using Misty Moonlight ink. I punched it with the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch. I tied a bit of Misty Moonlight ribbon from the 1/8" Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack in the January/June Mini into a bow and adhered with a glue dot.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from Celebrating You and the daisies image from Flowering Rain Boots with Misty Moonlight ink. I'm sure going to miss Misty Moonlight. It has bee one of my favorites these past two years.

Hey there! Today's card has a bit of a technique with it. I used the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, without the hedgehog, and the Peaceful Moments stamp set to create this card with a masked section in the middle!

I started by laying down a piece of Post-it Tape across the Very Vanilla layer so I could stamp along the top and bottom edges but leave the center empty. I lined up the edges of the layer with the squares on my grid sheet, then laid the Post-It Tape across, using the lines of the squares to keep the tape straight. I was able to stamp the flower spray, the toadstool, and the butterfly, letting the stamping overlap the tape a bit without inking the middle.

I colored the toadstool with the nib tip of the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend, then colored the flounce below it with the Light Poppy Parade. I colored the flowers with a Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blend and the flower centers with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend.

I stamped a greeting from Peaceful Moments in the center with Tuxedo Black ink. I added a few rhinestones for some sparkle, otherwise this would have been a completely flat card!

Inside I used another Peaceful Moments sentiment, then stamped the other images from the front with the same inks but left them uncolored.

Stampin’ Up! Masked Happy Hedgehogs!

Hey there! Today's card has a bit of a technique with it. I used the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, without the hedgehog, and the Peaceful Moments stamp set to create this card with a masked section in the middle!

Stampin’ Up! Friends of the Forest!

Hey there! I finally decided it was time I put the Friends of the Forest stamp set to good use! I tend to buy so many stamp sets that I love from each catalog that it is hard sometimes to get around to playing with them all!

For my card today I combined Friends of the Forest with Watercolor Shapes. I stamped the tree with Pear Pizzazz ink, then instead of coloring each leaf with a Stampin' Write Marker or Stampin' Blend, I inked the long rectangle image from Watercolor Shapes with Pear Pizzazz, stamped-off once, then stamped behind the tree.

I stamped the birdie with Balmy Blue ink on the tree branch, then stamped the birdie again with Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Basic White. After I colored with a Light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blend, I cut him out with Paper Snips, darkened his eye with the nib tip of a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, and then used tiny dots of glue to adhere over the stamped birdie.

The deer was much easier than the birdie! After stamping with Crumb Cake ink and coloring with a Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blend, I darkened the eye, nose, and back markings with the same Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I didn't have to use paper snips to cut him out, there's a Deer Builder Punch for that!

This sentiment is included in the Friends of the Forest set!

I created the background layer for the front and inside with the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder and swiping one side of the folder with Balmy Blue ink before running it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine. The inside sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set which is carrying-over to the new Annual catalog.
