Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Just a Note!

Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Just a Note!

Hey there! Seems like I've had a lot of specific card requests lately. Today's card has a "thinking of you" theme with Sheltering Tree and Watercolor Wishes:

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_1 - Copy

I stamped the Hardwood background with Tip on Taupe on Crumb Cake, sponged with Tip Top Taupe, adhered to a sponged Tip Top Taupe layer, then adhered to a Crumb Cake card base.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_2 - Copy
I made the foliage stamp do double-duty! First, I attached the leaves side of the stamp to the clear block so I could stamp a background of Delightful Dijon. After I cleaned the stamp, I flipped it back over to the leaf side to stamp Cajun Craze foliage on top of the Delightful Dijon.

I love the little touches included in the Sheltering Tree set; a scattered foliage stamp and a rake! The greeting is from the Watercolor Wishes stamp set, which you can only get when you buy the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit.

"You're in my Thoughts", the perfect thinking of you sentiment!

Stampin’ Up! Leaflets Framelits Dies!

Stampin’ Up! Leaflets Framelits Dies!

Hey there! Today I'm sharing some gorgeous swaps that all use the Leaflets Framelits Dies. Two stamp sets coordinate with the dies, Vintage Leaves in the Annual Catalog and Lighthearted Leaves in the Holiday Catalog, but I was surprised by other sets that also work great!

Marcie Besecker combined Hardwood Background, Woodland Textured Impressions folder, Vintage Leaves, and a Sheltering Tree greeting:

  Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_1
Marcie embossed Vintage Leaves with gold powder, colored with reinkers and Aqua Painters, then cutting  with Leaflets dies.

She pulled threads from 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon to add a fringe, then tied the threads around the leaves.

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_2

Mary Waring cut Into the Woods Designer Series Paper with a Leaflets Framelit, layering over Blackberry Bliss and Gold Foil. She used more Into the Woods for the "tree trunk", dividing from the Blackberry Bliss with Natural 5/8" Chevron ribbon turned with the plain side up.

Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_1

A greeting from A Little Something was punched with the  Acorn Builder Punch, then layered over a Gold Foil acorn. Little touches of Crystal Effects to each tiny acorn adds dimension and shine. Stampin_up_acorny_thank_you_2
Katy Simecka combined Vintage Leaves, Sheltering Tree, and Woodland Textured Impressions Folder for her creation:

Stampin_up_vintage_leaves_3

Finally, Karen Kurz cut a leaf "window" from Crushed Curry before embossing with the Woodland folder. She stamped Happy Scenes on a Shimmery White layer, sponging with So Safforn, Crushed Curry, and Cajun Craze. She highlighted the window with a Basic Black marker.

Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals and a Post Office Discovery!

Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals and a Post Office Discovery!

Hey there! Last night and tonight I'm hosting a Vendor Fair at my house. We have 7 different products represented by 6 different people. Needless to say, my yesterday was craaaaaazy.

It's Tuesday, and Stampin' Up! has new Weekly Deals. Remember, these save you  25% and are only this price for ONE WEEK:

12003362_10205369703671157_553849481284702822_n

Makes me want to get out my Stars Framelits and Ornate Tag Topper Punch and start creating!

The other day I was at the P.O. mailing Holiday Catalogs and discovered these:

Non machineable postage stamp

What does the tiny print under the butterfly say? "NON MACHINEABLE SURCHARGE" !

This is a big deal! Stampers frequently ask advice on how to mail beautiful (but bulky) cards. They fear the card will be mashed or worse, destroyed as it goes through P.O. machinery. It's also an inconvenience to go in to the P.O. to mail them separately.

Problem solved! Put one of these on your envelope, drop it in any mailbox, and you are done! You don't have to put any other postage on it, the 71 cents you pay for the stamp covers all costs of first class postage plus the added cost for it to be hand-processed and not go through the P.O. machines!

Pretty cool, huh?

You do need to go to the P.O. to purchase the stamps, but I just bought a sheet of them to have on hand every time I need one!

I double-checked with my local Postmaster this morning to make sure I was giving you all the correct information, but if you have any other questions about these amazingly helpful little stamps, just ask your postmaster when you go in to buy your stamps.

To place an online order for any of the Weekly Deals (and anything else from any of the Stampin' Up! catalogs, click here to go to my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Stamp Sets I’ve Resisted!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day, Stamp Sets I’ve Resisted!

Hey there! How did you like the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop yesterday? Our theme was Babies, and if you haven't taken it yet, you can go back to yesterday's post HERE,  to hop through all 13 blogs. You will end up back here so you won't forget check out today's swaps, o.k?

First, Ruth Bingle created a bright and cheery card with the new Annual Catalog set, Gift from the Garden:

Stampin_up_gift_from_the_garden

I loved this set the first time I saw it in the catalog, but have been resisting ordering it ever since. This card makes it harder and harder!

Why resist? I'm not really sure, except there are so many great sets in both the Annual and Holiday Catalog that I know there's no way I have enough time in my life to stamp with them all! You've heard the saying, "so many stamps, so little time"? That's me! lol!

Next, Audra Moncur used another set I've been resisting, Wild About Flowers!

Stampin_up_wild_about_flowers

Audra used a classic color combo: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, and Whisper White with just a touch of Pear Pizzazz for the flower stems.

Finally, Carol Slack's creation uses another oft-resisted set, Heartfelt Sympathy:

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy_2

I love her color combo of Blackberry Bliss, Mint Macaron, and Whisper White!

Stampin_up_heartfelt_sympathy

Here's the stamp supply list for these three cards. If you can't resist these sets, and after this post I'm finding it almost impossible to hold out much longer, you are welcome to order your favorites from my online store:
