Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Monday December 14th!

Hey there! Another busy weekend. I try to stay ahead as much as I can, but always something comes along that gets me off-track. Family always comes first, so that's why I've been blogging my Sunday Swap Days on Monday so much lately.

Today I have a fun collection of gift card holders to share with you!

First, Emily Tull created her gift card holder with Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and the Moose Punch, which are both on the Year-End Closeout Retiring List!

Next,  Laura Barto used the retiring Festive Post with the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder and the Rectangle Postage Punch for her gift card holder. The Mossy Meadow 3/8" Diagonal Stripe Ribbon is 50% off on the Year-End Closeout Retiring List.

And then flips open!

Barb Dykhouse created her gift card holder with the Tag Buffet stamp set (retiring), Red Foil Sheets, Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders (retiring and 50% off), and Wonder of the Season Specialty Designer Paper (retiring and 50% 0ff)

It's a simple gift card:

Finally, Rhonda Bassler used the retiring Gnome for the Holidays with retiring-and-20% off 'Tis the Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. She used Hippo & Friends dies from the Annual Catalog to cut the layers.

It's easy to make a place for a gift card  by simply scoring, folding, and securing to make a pocket!

You will find the complete listing of everything on the Year-End Closeout (retiring) in my online store.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe’ Gift Card Holder!

Stampin’ Up! Merry Cafe’ Gift Card Holder!

Hey there! Yesterday afternoon the clouds finally broke, the sun came out, and the wind died down, so I was able to get outside to take pics of new cards. I LOVE using natural light! The colors come out more true. I try to do this before sundown, when the light is soft but not too dusky. Of course, I have to have freshly fed our 9 barn cats or they will mob me, but an extra-large can of pate' and a big cup of dry cat food patted on top usually buys me enough time!

The card I want to share with you today is similar to a couple of others I've shared over the past few months, but I used the Merry Cafe' set and the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper to dress this one up!

Did you know the Christmas Around the World Designer Series Paper is part of the Buy3Get1Free Special Stampin' Up! is offering this month? You can check out the whole line-up of paper packs when you visit my online store to shop: http://bit.ly/shopwithCarolPayneStamps

This sale only lasts through October 31st, so don't delay!

I've always loved plaid, so this card came together really quickly once I decided to use this print! Here are my dimensions for cutting and scoring:

Old Olive card base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2" and 5 1/2"

Basic Black for front: 4" x  31/4"   and for inside layer: 4" x 5 1/4"

Christmas Around the World Designer Paper for front: 3 3/4" x 3"   and 4" x 3/4" strip for inside right side

Whisper White for inside layer: 4" x 3 5/8"

Old Olive, Real Red, and Crumb Cake scraps for coffee cups

After stamping and cutting the cups (there's a tiny one on the inside coming up in the next pic) with the Coffee Cups Framelits, I assembled with liquid glue and adhered to the card with dimensionals. I added a heart from the Corrugated Elements pack.

To create the gift card pocket, I partially punched the 4 1/4" end of the base with the Pretty Label Punch, and adhered the 2" scored end to the inside with Tear & Tape Adhesive. I added the tiny "perk up" cup with a dimensional.

I finished the inside with a greeting from Merry Cafe' and snowflakes from the same set, stamped in Basic Black. I know black snowflakes might seem weird, but I liked them for my color scheme. Snowflakes are actually colorless, and snow reflects many colors, which just means you can stamp your snowflakes any color you want!

Want to hear a confession? I love smell of freshly ground coffee, love the smell of coffee perking, but can't really drink it because it gives me terrible heartburn, even when I load it with lots of creamer! I love stamping with both the Coffee Cafe' and Merry Cafe' stamp sets anyway!
