Stampin’ Up! Tags & Tidings!

Stampin’ Up! Tags & Tidings!

Hey there! Well, the annual November cold/sinus infection has struck again. I'm pretty miserable right now. I started coming down with it on Sunday afternoon, and now my head is stuffed and my teeth hurt! I guess I'll have to get my self to the dr soon!

I did pull myself together yesterday and stamped this card with the Tags & Tidings Bundle. Several of the more popular framelits that are bundled with stamps in the Holiday Catalog are selling out or are sold out already, so I'm playing with less-well-know-but-still pretty awesome bundles now!

This card would be perfect for the beginner or the casual stamper; east to create a bunch just in time to mail out for Christmas cards!

Stampin_up_tags_&_tidings_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the entire Tags & Tidings image (there's just one BIG image with all of the little tags on it) with Versamark, I sprinkled with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and then melted the powder with my Heat Tool. I then stamped the image again with Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White and then cut it out with the Christmas Tags Thinlets Die. The stamp set alone is $17.00 and the thinlet is $28.00. Bundled together they are 10% off at $40.50, but if you don't have a Big Shot and don't mind fussy-cutting you could easily cut most of the tags with Paper Snips. The thinlet even cuts the holes in most of these darling little tags for you!

Inside I used a sentiment from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set. An easy-peasy card!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop November 2018 Color Challenge!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop November 2018 Color Challenge!

Hey there and welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop for November 2018!

970616_10152216696390070_1901389811_n

Our November theme is a color challenge:

November 2018 Color Challenge

My first thought with these colors was "valentines", but when I scanned my Holiday catalog sets I found for some inexplicable reason Candy Cane Season was still un-inked!

I started with a Merry Merlot  5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base, then added a 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" layer of Smoky Slate. I discovered I had just a few slivers of Silver Foil in my stash (gasp! But more is arriving tomorrow if the snow we're getting tonight doesn't delay delivery), so I fudged the silver with Smoky Slate.

I added another layer of Merry Merlot 5 1/4" x 4" before adding the Whisper White layer stamped with the Powder Pink candy cane "hearts". Candy Cane Season is photopolymer, so it was easy to stamp accurately.

Can I just say I think Merry Merlot is the PERFECT burgundy color? We've had a couple of different versions of this color in the past (Bravo Burgundy comes to mind), but they were either too brown, too dull, too SOMETHING that just wasn't "it".  Merry Merlot, however, IS IT!!!

Stampin_up_candy_cane_season_carolpaynestamps1

I did manage to add a splash of Silver Foil with the Candy Cane Builder Punch, which is bundled with Candy Cane Season to save 10%. I stamped the 1 3/4" x  3 1/4" white layer with the "HO!HO!HO! image and Smoky Slate ink. The Merry Merlot layer behind it is 1 7/8" x 3 3/8".

And the envelope. Candy Cane Season is an "all inclusive" set!

Stampin’ Up! Alpine Adventure Christmas Greetings!

Stampin’ Up! Alpine Adventure Christmas Greetings!

Hey there! Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog goodies are selling fast; some are already sold out:

150095: Santa’s Workshop Cards You Can Make It Bundle
147905: Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack
147815: Santa's Workshop Memories & More Cards & Envelopes

147816: Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper
147890: Festive Farmhouse Elements
147811: Santa’s Workshop Enamel Elements

White Velvet Sheets from the Snowflake Showcase are also sold out, so  you NEED  TO PLACE YOUR Holiday Catalog ORDER NOW!

Because some items are gone or are on back order, such as Merry Merlot/Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon, and Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper, I had to change some of my projects for upcoming classes! I created today's project for that very reason!

Today's card was inspired by a swap from OnStage one of my team members received, so I don't have the creator's name.  I used the Alpine Adventure Bundle to create this:
Stampin_up_alpine_adventure_carolpaynestamps1
Do you see a Christmas tree?

I used the Stamparatus to line up each image using either Coastal Cabana, Shaded Spruce, or Real Red to build the tree. I layered onto a piece of Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.

Stampin_up_alpine_adventure_carolpaynestamps2

I added sparkle to the snowflake "star" with a Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplet. The bow was cut with an Alpine Sports Thinlets Die, as was the sled at the bottom.

Stampin_up_alpine_adventure_carolpaynestamps3

It was easy to get perfect placement of the images by using the Stamparatus! I know where each one will be before I even add any ink!

Stampin_up_alpine_adventure_carolpaynestamps4

Inside I stamped the snowshoe and the sled with Soft Suede ink.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 11th!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day November 11th!

Hey there! Today we're on the last leg of our trip home from the Stampin' Up! OnStage 30th Anniversary Event in Orlando, FL. Today is also my 16th Anniversary as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

The Christmas swaps I'm sharing today were all created with the Winter Woods Bundle!

First, a Winter WoodsBundle/Woodland Textured Impressions creation with the Black Ice technique by Angela Waters:

Stampin_up_winter_woods_black_ice_carolpaynestamps1

The 3/8" Basic Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

Stampin_up_winter_woods_black_ice_carolpaynestamps2

Next, Karen Kurz colored Shimmery Embossing Paste with Tranquil Tide and "maybe" Night of Navy reinkers to create a sparkly background for her cut-out Winter Woods trees!

Stampin_up_winter_woods_carolpaynestamps1

The greeting is from the Annual Catalog set, Star of Light.

Stampin_up_winter_woods_carolpaynestamps2

Finally, Ruth Ann Lilley stamped on the "negative" side of the Woodland Textured Impressions embossing folder with the Winter Woods tree before running through the Big Shot. The tree is "decorated" with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter sprinkled onto sponged Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin_up_winter_woods_woodland_carolpaynestamps1

 Very prettily sparkled!

Stampin’ Up! Nothing Sweeter with Festive Farmhouse!

Stampin’ Up! Nothing Sweeter with Festive Farmhouse!

Hey there! I have ideas for more Nothing Sweeter creations, but ran out of time before we left for Orlando to attend the Stampin' Up! 30th Anniversary OnStage event. Today is the middle day of OnStage and I'm seeing so much fun new stuff that will be in the Spring Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogs! I'm taking lots of pictures, so be ready to see some fun new things soon!

Today's card continues the "homespun" look with Crumb Cake, Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper, Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, and the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After I embossed the layer wtih the folder I rubbed my Crumb Cake ink pad directly over the raised ridges.

Stampin_up_nothing_sweeter_trees_carolpaynestamps1

After I stamped the tree in stamped-off Mossy Meadow and then stamped the outline in full-strength Mossy Meadow, I cut it out with the two pieces of the tree die from the Sweetly Stitched Framelits. It really looks stitched! The star is another Nothing Sweeter image stamped with Crushed Curry and  cut with a Sweetly Stitched Framelit

Stampin_up_nothing_sweeter_trees_carolpaynestamps2

I found the perfect greeting in the Christmas Traditions Punch Box! There are 6 stamps, a coordinating punch, two Stampin' Spots, and a clear stamping block, all in a gorgeous Real Red and silver tin! I stamped the greeting first with Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla, punched with the Christmas Traditions Punch, then stamped again with Cherry Cobbler on a scrap of Very Vanilla. I hand-cut "Christmas" with Paper Snips to layer over the middle of the greeting. I rubbed the edges of the greeting directly on my Crumb Cake inkpad. No sparkles or bling were needed on this one!
