Stampin’ Up! New Wonders for Ava!

Posted on August 12, 2019 by Carol Payne

Hey there! Over the weekend we went to Ava's 14th birthday party, so today I'm sharing the card I created for her with the New Wonders Host set.

Somehow while editing my pics I managed to delete the full card front picture, but I didn't delete the adorable little fairy girl "turning the page"! I colored her hair with a Light Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend to resemble Ava's auburn hair, then fussy-cut the whole piece so the leaves could extend beyond the edge of the fold. I colored the leaves with a Light Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blend to match the Pretty Peacock card front embossed with the Layered Leaves 3-D folder.

I punched the Happy Birthday with the Pretty Label Punch for a cloud effect.

I punched the inside sentiment with the same Pretty Label Punch and then punched a blank one to add our signatures and personal wishes to.

I colored her dress with Light Highland Heather and Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends. You can't really see it in the pics but I added some shimmer to her wings with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Posted on August 11, 2019 by Carol Payne

Hey there! It's Sunday, so it's time for me to share some swaps!

First, a card by Lorraine Duran created with the Back on Your Feet stamps, Layered Leaves 3-D folder, and Stitched Nested Labels Dies:

Such a cute card!

Linda Pagel also used Back on Your Feet! That burlap-looking layer is from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Paper!

Such an imaginative fold!

Cathy Miller used the Dino Days stamp set Dinoroar designer paper, and the Eyelet Lace embossing folder for her happy card:

Linda added more texture and interest with a Dinoroar Enamel Shape:

I love these colors of Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, and Mango Melody!

Brynn Thornburgh used the adorably whimsical set, We'll Walrus Be Friends with some watercoloring in the background:

Love all of these blues in the watercolor and the card stocks!

Inside:

I love the fishie's attitudes!

Finally, Karen Kurz combined Bee Thankful with Wiggle Worm to create a stunning z-fold!

The Wiggly Bugs dies are the key to making this card!

Stampin’ Up! Everything Amazing Gatefold!

Posted on August 10, 2019 by Carol Payne

Hey there! I've been working on the cards for my fun-fold class next Saturday, and I found inspiration from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog to make this card with Pool Party, Grapefruit Grove, Flirty Flamingo, and the Everything Amazing Stamp set. This color combo really pops!

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large greeting with Versamark on Grapefruit Grove card stock so I could re-stamp it easily to make sure I had a good impression with the sticky Versamark before sprinkling with white embossing powder and heating with my heat tool. I then stamped the flowers, also from Everything Amazing, with Flirty Flamingo ink before cutting it out with the largest Stitched Nested Label Die. I added rhinestones to the flower centers for some bling.

I used a sentiment from Here's a Card on the inside.

This card was so much fun I made two more with different color combos!

Lovely Lipstick and Blushing Bride:

Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Sea Foam:

Stampin’ Up! Woven Heirlooms!

Posted on August 9, 2019 by Carol Payne

Hey there! Today's card was created with the Woven Heirlooms bundle and Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. The dies and embossing folders that are part of the Woven Heirlooms bundle were so popular that they were on back order for over a month after the new catalog went into effect, so I'm just now starting to play with mine!

I used Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray card stock and ink to coordinate with the Woven Threads Designer Paper.

The Woven Threads Sequin Assortment provided just the right colors of sequins to add some sparkle!

Even the inside sentiment is from the Woven Heirlooms stamp set!

Stampin’ Up! Free As A Bird Ballad!

Posted on August 8, 2019 by Carol Payne

Hey there! I took the day yesterday to do some serious stamping and paper-cutting for my August workshops and classes, so today I'm sharing one of the cards we will be making at Donna's class with the Bird Ballad Designer Paper!

With the Bird Ballad Designer Paper it's not hard to just let the paper do the heavy lifting in determining the design. This paper is soooo pretty, it would be a shame to cover it up with a lot of layers!

I used a Stitched Labels Die to cut out the greeting from Butterfly Wishes.

I added a 1" strip of Terracotta Tile embossed with the Lace 3-D Folder, then finished the card with a bow tied with Braided Linen Trim.

Inside I colored the birdie with Watercolor Pencils, then blended the streaks with a Blender Pen.
