Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks CASEing the New Catalog!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks CASEing the New Catalog!

Hey there! Stampin' Up! released the New Annual Catalog to demonstrators a few days ago. I checked out the card samples made with the Ornate Garden Suite. I fell in love with a little square card created with the Ornate Borders dies:
Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_catalog_card_carolpaynestamps1

Stampin' Up! also released a Catalog Samples guide to demos with supply lists for every sample in the new catalog. I used the list to put this card together. I used the card stock colors of Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Pool Party. Each strip was cut with an Ornate Borders Die, then added to a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square of Whisper White using liquid glue. Don't worry, when the New Annual Catalog goes live on June 3rd I'll be sharing the Catalog Samples Guide PDF with you!

Stampin_up_ornate_thanks_catalog_card_carolpaynestamps2

I heat embossed the sentiment with white powder on a rectangle of Basic Black, then punched the corners just a bit with a 1/2" Circle Punch.

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Ornate Thanks, and added snippets from the border strips to each corner.

I can tell already the New Annual Catalog is going to be fun to shop, as well as providing tons of inspiration! Let me know if I can mail you one in May. Put  your name and address in the comments!

Supplies to order:

Stampin’ Up! Faux Cracked Glass with Country Road!

Stampin’ Up! Faux Cracked Glass with Country Road!

Hey there! I combined retiring stamps Crackle Paint and Country Roads with a Faux Cracked Glass technique for a masculine, shabby chic card!

Stampin_up_country_road_carolpaynestamps1

I used the "faux cracked glass" technique for the star embellishment.

Stampin_up_country_road_carolpaynestamps2

The original Cracked Glass technique consists of covering a stamped image with multiple layers of clear embossing, then freezing for a few minutes to be able to "crack" the embossed layers when removed from the freezer. I wanted to get the cracked glass look without all of the time it takes to emboss multiple layers.  I stamped the star image with Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla, then stamped over it with the retiring Crackle Paint stamp using stamped-off Gray Granite ink. I only added ONE layer of clear embossing, punched with a 1 1/2" Circle Punch and sponged the edges with Gray Granite ink. MUCH easier and less time-consuming!

Stampin_up_country_road_carolpaynestamps4

The only drawback to this "faux cracked glass" technique is the Crackle Paint stamp is retiring with the end of the current Annual Catalog (June 2nd). If you want to try this faux technique for yourself you need to order Crackle Paint SOON. All retiring stamps are only guaranteed to be available through May 22nd. I added a retiring antique gold Designer Element (they are discounted 30%! right now!) to the center to complete the look.

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style One More Time!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style One More Time!

Hey there! I know I've been stamping and stamping and stamping with Ornate Style almost exclusively for the past three weeks, but I can't help it, I just love it and keep getting ideas of different ways to use it! Such was the case with the card I'm sharing with you today. I was inspired while watching another demonstrator's video with the Sepia technique. Although my card is not sepia, it is definitely monochromatic, and even though it seems like a fussy, complicated look to achieve, it's really very simple!

Stampin_up_mint_macaron_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps1

I combined Ornate Style with Very Versailles (for the faint ton-on-tone stamped script in the background). After stamping the script with stamped-off Mint Macaron on the Mint Macaron layer, I rubbed it all over with my embossing buddy before stamping the Ornate Style floral spray with Versamark and heat-embossing with White Powder. I darkened the leaves with Versamark ink picked up from the pad with an older Blender Pen, then colored the daisies and lower large bloom with White Craft ink with the same pen.

Inside I used a combo of sentiments from Butterfly Wishes and Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy Ornate Style!

Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy Ornate Style!

Hey there! The card I'm sharing with you today was created from an inspiration I had while I was taking a power nap yesterday afternoon. I woke with this idea burning in my brain, so here's my card!

Stampin_up_night_of_navy_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the floral spray image from Ornate Style on the Whisper White layer before embossing with the Ornate 3D embossing folder. I then cleaned my stamp and stamped it on vellum to heat emboss with white powder. I then used my Paper Snips to cut out the individual daisies. After coloring the backsides with Light Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends, I popped them onto their place on the floral spray with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin_up_night_of_navy_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps3

I added pearls to the remaining flower centers.

Stampin_up_night_of_navy_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps4

I used a Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker to pull out just the "Prayers" from the Positive Thoughts sentiment "Hugs Prayers Love" before embossing with the folder.

Stampin_up_night_of_navy_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used a sentiment from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Highland Ornate Style!

Stampin’ Up! Highland Ornate Style!

Hey there! I decided to re-visit the Triple Time Stamping/spotlighting technique with the Ornate Style stamp set, so I used a completely different color palette of Highland Heather hues to create this:

Stampin_up_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps2

After stamping the large floral spray from Ornate Style in the center of the three layers of Whisper White card stock with Highland Heather ink, I colored with Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers. I chose to not color the tiny flowers I stamped around the edges so the colored spray would really "pop"! It's hard to see but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the daisies and the darker bloom at the bottom. After coloring each bloom with the lighter color I accented with the darker one of each combo before going back over it with the lighter color to blend and smooth.

Stampin_up_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps3

I love the light and airy feel the White Polka Dot Tulle gives, which I simply tied in a knot and trimmed the ends. The greeting was punched from "Hugs Prayers Love", found in Positive Thoughts. I added a Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dot, which is from my $50 ordering gift this month!

Stampin_up_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps4

I used all Highland Heather inside, adding another phrase from Positive Thoughts, which is one of my favorites!
