Stampin’ Up! Highland Ornate Style!

Stampin’ Up! Highland Ornate Style!

Hey there! I decided to re-visit the Triple Time Stamping/spotlighting technique with the Ornate Style stamp set, so I used a completely different color palette of Highland Heather hues to create this:

Stampin_up_ornate_style_carolpaynestamps2

After stamping the large floral spray from Ornate Style in the center of the three layers of Whisper White card stock with Highland Heather ink, I colored with Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers. I chose to not color the tiny flowers I stamped around the edges so the colored spray would really "pop"! It's hard to see but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the daisies and the darker bloom at the bottom. After coloring each bloom with the lighter color I accented with the darker one of each combo before going back over it with the lighter color to blend and smooth.

I love the light and airy feel the White Polka Dot Tulle gives, which I simply tied in a knot and trimmed the ends. The greeting was punched from "Hugs Prayers Love", found in Positive Thoughts. I added a Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dot, which is from my $50 ordering gift this month!

I used all Highland Heather inside, adding another phrase from Positive Thoughts, which is one of my favorites!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Triple Time Spotlight!

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Triple Time Spotlight!

Hey there! Sometimes I get hooked on a certain fold, technique, or color palette and keep playing with it. Right now I am hooked on the Triple Time technique! I love the look, and once you have the dimensions in your head it's easy to see it for so many stamps!

Today's project is stamped with Ornate Style using both Triple Time stamping and a Spotlighting technique:

Stampin_up_ornate_style_daisies_carolpaynestamps1

I stamped the floral spray from Ornate Garden with Early Espresso on the Very Vanilla layers, then stamped the single daisy around the edges. I colored the center layer with Stampin' Blends: Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Balmy Blue, Light Old Olive, and Bronze in the daisy centers (think for this card they are Black-eyed Susans?) I only colored the top layer so the color would "pop" and be spotlighted when the card is finished. I added a bow of Gold Metallic Edge ribbon, and sponged all of the So Saffron edges with Early Espresso ink.

Stampin_up_ornate_style_daisies_carolpaynestamps2

I added a Gilded Gem in the lower middle corner.

Stampin_up_ornate_style_daisies_carolpaynestamps3

Inside I used "Friends like you mean more every year" from Positive Thoughts, and "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" from Well Said. I stamped the envelope flap and a bit of the front with the single daisy and sponged all of the edges with Early Espresso.

Stampin’ Up! Abstract Impressions, CASEing Myself!

Stampin’ Up! Abstract Impressions, CASEing Myself!

Hey there! I CASED myself when creating this card for Cindy's Stamp Camp today with Abstract Impressions. She was looking at my recent creations and chose THIS card, but requested it in a different color, so I used Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist. I love the original, but I sure am diggin' these colors too!

Stampin_up_abstract_impressions_carolpaynestamps1

I really, really, really LOVE this sentiment! It's from Abstract Impressions too!

Stampin_up_abstract_impressions_carolpaynestamps2

This card combines the Spotlighting Technique with a paper-saving tip: Cut the greeting mat directly from the stamped front layer!

Stampin_up_abstract_impressions_carolpaynestamps7

After you add the Coastal Cabana oval mat behind the greeting and adhere with dimensionals, you'll never be able to tell where it came from!

Stampin_up_abstract_impressions_carolpaynestamps8

Photography is so weird. This is the inside of the same card, but here you can really tell it's Coastal Cabana and Lemon Lime Twist. In the pic above the colors look like Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz!

Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Spotlighting!

Stampin’ Up! Sheltering Tree Spotlighting!

Hey there! Just a quick post this morning. Unless Alisa's baby girl decides to come on her own, she will be here sometime on Friday. Induction is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday night!

Today's card was created with one of the Seasonal Decorative Masks and Sheltering Tree:
Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps1

I used the spotlighting technique to make the Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry fall foliage really pop!

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps2

I love the little rake, don't you? Sheltering Tree is a timeless classic stamp set you can use for any occasion!

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps3

I used a Sponge Brayer to lightly roll Smoky Slate ink through the paisley Seasonal Decorative Mask.  I think it gives the background a smokey-fall-haze-from-burning-leaves look. The sentiment in one of the four included in the set.

Stampin_up_sheltering_tree_carolpaynestamps5

The only image I used that was not from Sheltering Tree was the "my heart smiles just thinking of you" from Suite Sayings.
