Stampin’ Up! Oh Snap! for Jessica!

Stampin’ Up! Oh Snap! for Jessica!

Hey there! We had a busy weekend! Saturday I did a Stamp-a-Stack for my friend Cindy Lisk. Afterwards I picked up groceries and then it was home to prep for our Payne Clan gathering on Sunday for my oldest daughter, Jessica's, birthday!

Of course I had to make her a special card. This one has been brewing in my brain for awhile:

A camera shaker! I used my Envelope Punch board to create the camera shape!

Stampin’ Up! Afternoon Picnic Tea Party Card!

Stampin’ Up! Afternoon Picnic Tea Party Card!

Hey there! Good day today. I slept Nyquil-free last night! yay!

I have just a few more workshops left for Sale-a-bration. The next one is Thursday night for Kim. Last summer when I did a workshop for her we made a teapot card using the Gingham Garden Designer Paper. You can see that card HERE. Kim enjoyed the card so much she wanted to make it again, so I re-created it using Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper, Sahara Sand Cardstock, and the Tea Party stamp set:

Stampin_up_tea_party_1 - Copy

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It's very soft and vintag-y, in contrast to the bright and retro one from last summer!

Stampin_up_tea_party_2 - Copy

The body of the teapot is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder. We are inserting a tag made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamped with a sentiment from Blooming With Kindness.

Stampin_up_tea_party_3 - Copy

We are adding a few tiny pearls to the Tea Party teapot, and the ends of the tag are stamped with the scallop stamp from the Tea Party set with Wisteria Wonder ink.

Stampin_up_tea_party_4 - Copy

Since this card is a little larger than your standard-size, we are making a custome envelope with more Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper and the Envelope Punch Board.

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Here's the supply list for today's project. Click on any of the pictures to find that item in my Online Store:

Stampin’ Up! Hello Lovely Reverse Easel Tutorial!

Stampin’ Up! Hello Lovely Reverse Easel Tutorial!

Hey there! As promised, here is another Reverse Easel card, this time with the "Hello, Lovely" stamp set and Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper.

Tip: Designer Series Paper (aka DSP) is the lovely 2-sided paper Stampin' Up! sells. There's a different design on each side of each sheet. Lots of choices! yay!

Stampin_up_hello_lovely_1

My card base is Gumball Green, layered with Pool Party, then the Epic Day paper, and tied with a Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Stampin_up_hello_lovely_2 - Copy

I brayered a Tea Lace Doily with Pool Party ink, then layered on a Whisper White strip that I embossed with one of the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Folders and my Big Shot.

I inked my stamp with Gumball Green and Pool Party markers, then punched the image with the Decorative Label Punch. I layered a couple of Pool Party Decorative Labels behind the greeting before adhering to the card over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Tip: Stampin' Dimensionals give the perfect "lift" for both interest and to let the ribbon do it's job without popping the label off.

Lastly, I added a Summer Starfruit In Color Dahlia to make it all pop!

Pssst. . . Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit are 2012-2014 In Colors, which will be retiring at the end of May, so if you want these colors in cardstock, ink, markers, ribbon or Dahlia's, you need to order them now!

Stampin_up_hello_lovely_4 - Copy

Inside I stamped a sentiment from "Take Care", cut it out with a Deco Label Framelit, and then layered a Pool Party Deco Label behind it.

Here's my tutorial for the "Reverse Easel" technique:

Card base dimensions: 12" x 4", scored at 2", 5 1/2", and 9".

Lay 3" long end of the card base up against the ruler of the Envelope Punch Board, putting the left edge at 1 1/2". Punch but do not score.

IMG_5538 - Copy

Flip the card over and repeat with the left edge again at 1 1/2". You will have one "peak" along the edge.

IMG_5539 - Copy

You will cut off the ends of the cardstock from the peak out to the corners of the card base with the Paper Trimmer.

IMG_5540 - Copy

One end of your card base will now have a tab that looks like this:

IMG_5541 - Copy

On the opposite end, line up the Word Window Punch  as shown to punch a slot to insert the tab when the card is standing up. I lined up the "patent numbers" on the back of the punch with the fold of the card base, then "eye-balled" the sides for eveness. ("eye-balled" is my word for guessing as accurately as I can just by looking but not measuring. I was an awful "eye-baller" when I started stamping 11 years ago, but I'm much better now!)

IMG_5543 - Copy

After folding on all the scored lines, here's what my card base looks like:

IMG_5545 - Copy

Insert the tab on one end into the slot on the other end:

IMG_5546 - Copy

You now have a little easel. I adhered the card front to one side with Sticky Strip.

IMG_5547 - Copy

The folds will lay flat to insert into an envelope!

Stampin’Up! Simple Stems Reverse Easel!

Stampin’Up! Simple Stems Reverse Easel!

Hey there! I have a fun new card fold for you today! I saw a card on Splitcoast that inspired me to use my Envelope Punch Board to create my own version. I call mine a "Reverse Easel":

Stampin_up_simple_stems_1 - Copy

I used the stamp sets Simple Stems and Petite Pairs with Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, and Modern Medley Designer Paper.

Stampin_up_simple_stems_2 - Copy

In this picture you can see one of the things that helps make my "reverse easel" card work, the tab I created with the Envelope Punch Board!

Stampin_up_simple_stems_4 - Copy

Up close you can see I stamped my favorite bloom from the Simple Stems set first directly on the Very Vanilla oval, then stamped it again on a Very Vanilla scrap and cut it out with my Paper Snips. I sponged the edges with Coastal Cabana ink before mounting it over the first stamped image with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I love the tiny pearls I added to the center of the flower, and the paper-piercing I did with my Paper-Piercing Tool, Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack, and Stampin' Pierce Mat gives it the perfect finishing touch!

I have another reverse-easel card to show you, so be sure to come back tomorrow. I will also have a mini-tutorial of how to create a reverese-easel ready for you. Right now the pictures are still in the camera and it's getting too late to download and edit them tonight!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown Goes Retro!

Stampin’Up! Baby We’ve Grown Goes Retro!

Hey there. Things are starting to thaw out around here, but I'm still sticking pretty close to home!

Today I have the final card in my "Baby We've Grown" series. This time I used the little owl family stamp, Retro Fresh Designer Paper, Label Collection Framelits, and the Painter's Tape Technique:

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_1

I used the fun-fold technique for my card base. You can download the directions for the fun-fold by going to this post HERE.

This card fold always needs a slightly-larger than normal envelope, so I made my own with my Envelope Punch Board.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_2 - Copy

I took the colors for the Painter's Tape Technique from the Retro Fresh Designer Paper: Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, and Coastal Cabana. I masked off the "baby we've grown" words below the owls with another piece of painter's tape, inked up the owls, then removed the tape before stamping them without the words. The "welcome baby" words are from Petite Pairs.

I added Tempting Turquoise and  Tangerine Tango Candy Dots to pull a bit more of the colors into the greeting. Candy Dots area MUST HAVE for your cards! They come in all four color families and there are 10 of each of the 10 colors in each family. At $5.95 for 100 total, they are a great value and add so much to a card!

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_retro_3 - Copy

On the backside I inked up just the baby owl and used the corresponding sentiment from Petite Pairs.

This is the last card in my "Baby, We've Grown" triad. I will be back tomorrow with the first of two lattice cards made with the Chevron Border Punch, so please stop by!

Stampin’ Up! Baby We’ve Grown in Blushing Bride and Baked Brown Sugar!

Stampin’ Up! Baby We’ve Grown in Blushing Bride and Baked Brown Sugar!

Hey there! Well, the weatherman was right again wasn't he? No church today, no family, just a quiet day at home stamping. I've been having a blast playing with my stamps, punches, and Big Shot, yes I have!

My effort to show you today uses the adorable Occasions Catalog set, Baby We've Grown. I chose Baked Brown Sugar for my Circle Card Thinlet Die base, and then used Blushing Bride and Whisper White for added girly-ness!

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_pink_2 - Copy

I used patterns from the Subtles and Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stacks, and the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Folder on the front Blushing Bride panel.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_pink_3 - Copy

I needed a smaller envelope than any of the dimensions on the Envelope Punch Board listed, so I created my own with a 4" x 4" square of Baked Brown Sugar Designer Paper, then punched and scored at 2" on all four sides. It turned out perfect to slide in the giftcard! The sentiment on the "flip" side of the circle is also from Baby We've Grown and cuts out perfectly with the smallest Sunburst Framelits Die, then layered on a 1 1/4" Scallop Circle of Blushing Bride.

Stampin_up_baby_weve_grown_1 - Copy

In a close-up of the focal image you can see I did a little watercoloring with a Blender Pen and ink I pressed into the lid of the inkpad. I colored as lightly as I could because Whisper White cardstock can start "pilling up" if it gets rubbed while damp too much.
I pieced the scallops just a tiny bit with my Paper-Piercing Tool, and then added the tiniest of tiny Pearls Basic Jewels to the buckles of these sweet little baby patent leathers!

That's all for now! I have a boy version of this card to share with you tomorrow, so come back and see me, ok? Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!
