Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Chalkboard!

Hey there! This morning I'm on my way to help my photographer daughter's house to get her tax nfo ready for her tax lady. We do this once a year, and it takes all day, but it's one of the rare days of the year we get to spend the whole day together so I love it!

Today I"m sharing another card created for my #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp-a-stack but didn't make the cut. I used the chalkboard technique with Birthday Blooms stamps and Timeless Elegance Designer Paper:

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base, a layer of Basic Gray, then a layer of Timeless Elegance Designer Paper softly sponged with Soft Sky ink using a Sponge Dauber.

The reason this card didn't make "the cut" for my class is probably obvious. After I heat-embossed the blooms on Basic Black with white powder, I gently sponged the blooms only with White Craft ink for the "chalkboard" look. I "fancy cut" with my Paper Snips (aka fussy cut) the blooms.

I layered Venetian Crochet Trim over Basic Black 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, and added a white-heat-embossed greeting from Birthday Blooms punched with the Washi Label Punch.

Inside I punched the Very Vanilla corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and stamped the bloom again with Soft Sky ink.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Bouquet Banners!

Hey there! My bout with sickness put me waaaaay behind this week, but I've learned to expect the unexpected and just go with what I'm given. I'm working away at it even though I know I can't get everything done or the way I wanted it.

Today I have two cards, both made with Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Birthday Blooms stamps:

They are very similar, but up close you can see the subtle differences.

The layout, colors, sentiment, designer paper, and ribbon are the same, but this one is simpler with the Silver 5/8" Satin bow low on the front:

I made the flat card first, heat-embossing the greeting with white powder before deciding it needed a bit of texture. After white-heat embossing the greeting and adding the Banner Triple-punched paper strips with SNAIL, I embossed the Pool Party/designer paper layer with the Decorative Dots folder:

I also raised the ribbon bow near the top . Which one do you like best?

I did the inside similar but different as well. Here's the inside of the flat-front card:

And the textured card inside:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! It's Sunday morning, which means it's time for Sunday Swap Day! yay! Sundays are the day I post a collection of swaps or cards I have received.

First, Barbara Dykhouse used Birthday Blooms with Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper for her cheerfully feminine creation. She used Whisper White and Blushing Bride card stock to pull the colors from the designer paper, punching an Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower from Calypso Coral card stock and adding a Pearl Basic Jewel to finish it off!

I have started an #imbringingbirthdaysback initiative to send more hand-stamped birthday cards to family and friends. I sent Kristy Davis a birthday card in January, and she sent me this thank-you card in return! Sooooo cute! Snoopy is my fav! Not much Stampin' Up! on this card, but I love it none the less!

Finally for today, I received this excellent card in the monthly swap a few months ago. Unfortunately, I have lost the creator's name, but it's a good one! The Open Sea was combined with a sentiment from Guy Greetings and Typeset Designer Series Paper. A GREAT masculine card!

Stampin’ Up! Bloomin’ Birthday Occasions Catalog & Sale-a-bration Have Begun!

Hey there! Well, yesterday family took priority over stamping! Usually after Christmas or New Year's we start getting sick with sniffles or flu. Troy came down with flu on Sunday and Mark started a bad cold on Monday. Yesterday I needed to run several errands to deliver and acquire meds, food, and supplies for both. Consequently, blogging did not happen, the very first day of the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration!

Today I'm sharing a card we made at my Stampin' in the New Year class, created by Tamie Ackerso and finished on the inside by me. We used Birthday Blooms, Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, and Blushing Bride 1/4" Cotton Ribbon:

The greeting is from Birthday Blooms, stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.

I inked the largest bloom with Blushing Bride ink first, then applied Mossy Meadow marker directly on top of the Blushing Bride ink on the leaves. I "huffed" the ink before stamping in case some of it had dried while adding the Mossy Meadow.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday Blooms Sneak Peek!

Hey there! Today is the first day of the 2016 Occasions Catalog Pre-Order. Yay! I'm being very strict with myself and blogging before I start placing my order! lol!

Since today is pre-order day, I thought I would share with you an elegant swap I received from my friend Jennifer Cotton at the Dallas OnStage a few weeks ago. Jennifer was a Founder's Circle attendee in September where Stampin' Up! gave them the Birthday Blooms set, an Occasions Catalog 2016 sneak peek. Jennifer used this set, combining it with Mint Macaron and Whisper White card stock, Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron ink, the Banner Triple Punch, a Rhinestone Basic Jewel, and Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace Trim:

This is SUCH an easy-but-elegant card. I'm just DYING to CASE it!

Jennifer added just a bit of Mint Macaron sponging to add more color while keeping the card clean-and-simple!

This bloom is so gorgeous! I can imagine using sponges, blender pens, and re-inkers to color, as well as embossing in gold, silver, and black! Emboss-resist, as well as stamping and embossing on vellum are just a few of the techniques I want to try!

Birthday Blooms will definitely be included in my pre-order this morning! yay!
