Stampin’ Up! So Much Happy!

Hey there! Last night when I was starting to work on my blog post for today my computer wasn't cooperating. I use an older laptop to do most of my online stuff and I often leave it on for days at a time. I do put it to "sleep" at night, but after awhile it stops cooperating and needs to be shut down for awhile.  So I'm blogging this morning instead. You just have to be flexible with technology, right?

In my last order I receive the So Much Happy Bundle, and I've been dying to play with it. For my card today I paired it with Artistry Blooms Designer Series paper to create this bright and cheery birthday card:

The Happy dies that coordinate with the So Much Happy stamp set are my favorite feature of this bundle! I will be playing more with this one so you can see it's potential! I used the new In Color Magenta Madness for the card base and the ink.

I used the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to create the greeting label from a 1" x 3 1/2" strip of Whisper White.

I used a kissing technique to add the tiny stars to one of the solid stars. I explain this technique in the directions I am including at the bottom of this post!

Stampin’ Up! Whale Done Pop-Up!

Stampin’ Up! Whale Done Pop-Up!

Hey there! Today I have another Whale Done card for you with an easy inside pop-up feature! The card's colors are Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, and Whisper White. I embossed the Pool Party layer on the front and the envelope flap with the Seabed 3D embossing folder, which is from the Whale of a Time Suite. After embossing I sponged Pretty Peacock ink over the embossed images to make them "pop"!

I created the pop-up inside the card with Whisper White card stock and a 1/2" x 3" strip of clear window sheet. The big whale is punched from the Whale Of A Time 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper with the Whale Builder Punch, and I hand-cut the smaller whales from the same paper with my Paper Snips.

I also used the Whale Builder Punch to create the water spouting out of the whale's blow hole!

Stampin’ Up! Sunburst Sunflowers!

Hey there! Today's cards are with the Sunburst technique:

I created the background from three Flowers For Every Season 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper prints.

I used Bumblebee and Misty Moonlight from the Flowers For Every Season Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. These 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" cards include a rectangle dotted border that perfectly frames the sunburst background, and the envelopes are  lined with a coordinating print!

On the Bumblebee card I added sunflowers from Jar of Flowers, colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy-cut.

I added a greeting from Lovely You, punched with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. This punch is SO VERY NECESSARY!  Two different punch ends, each with three widths: 1/2", 3/4", and 1.  For this greeting I used a 1" cardstock strip.

Hey there! I don't have a project to share today, but I do want to share a few thoughts about the 4th of July!

The 4th of July has always been a celebration day in my family. From the time I was a little girl we always went to see the fireworks, which for just about everyone is the epitome of what the 4th of July is all about.

history.com states: 

From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.
 
The Declaration of Independence:

In Congress, July 4, 1776.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

I am thankful for the Declaration of Independence and the resulting fight for our nation's freedom. I pray we will never allow ourselves to be ruled by any other nation or body of people other than our own legally elected citizens.

Hey there! Today I have the third in my progressive series of Celebrate Sunflowers birthday cards. I stepped-up this one just a little bit more with another embossing folder and the Sunflower Dies!

I added a layer of Cinnamon Cider embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder behind the die-cut sunflower. I also added Cinnamon Cider ink to the Hammered Metal embossing with a sponge dauber. You can't really see it in the picture but I added Clear Wink of Stella to the sunflower center after I popped it up with dimensionals.

I added a bow tied with Bumblebee 1/4" In Color ribbon and a Bumblebee In Color Enamel Dot.

I finished off the inside with a smaller sunflower colored with Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Write Markers and cut with a Sunflower die.
