Stampin’ Up! Give It A Whirl Mario!

Hey there! Yesterday was our family's "August Birthdays" celebration, so I can finally show you the card I made for Liam's 9th birthday:

I combined the Give It A Whirl Dies, Hat's Off Bundle, Playful Alphabet, and Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder to create this special birthday card. Liam is crazy about everything Mario, so I tried to give this card a "Marion look", right down to the yellow buttons on his jumpsuit!

My grandkids are always excited to receive one of my cards, this one did not disappoint!

Inside I used a phrase from the Happiest Birthday stamp set.

I had fun making this one! I even inked the inside of the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder with Pacific Point ink before I inserted the Pacific Point card stock. I embossed after I had cut the layer with the Give It A Whirl dies.

It's so much fun to be able to customize birthday cards for each grand kid!

Stampin’ Up! Cards That Move!

Hey there! It's time again for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! Our theme for August is "Cards That Move"!

I decided to re-visit a card fold that I just recently learned, the Pop-Up! Flip, only this time I am featuring the Sale-a-bration Freebie, Delicate Dahlias, and the In Color, Fresh Freesia!

I stamped the Fresh Freesia layer with the open bloom and a tiny solids leaf with Fresh Freesia ink, cut the opening with a Layering Circle die, then embossed the layer with the Macrame 3D embossing folder. I stamped Basic White with both of the dahlia stamps, cut with the same Layering Circle die, then stamped around the edges with the solid leaf image and Soft Succulent ink.

I tied a knot of Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon and added a few Pastel Pearls for adornment.

I stamped the inside with the same colors, and added a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments.

Stampin’ Up! Delicate Dahlias Pop-Up Slider!

Hey there! Today I have another card that moves, a Pop-Up! Slider, created with the Delicate Dahlias Sale-a-bration set, and Best Year!

A simple pull on the string and the top slides up and the middle folds to reveal the sentiments!

I heat embossed the dahlias with white embossing powder on the Blushing Bride layer. I added a few pink Pastel Pearls for embellishment.

I heat embossed "hello" from Delicate Dahlias with white powder, then simply cut around it with my Paper Trimmer.

I stamped the lower sentiment with Early Espresso ink, leaving just enough room to sign the card.

The top sentiment, also from Best Year. I used the top of the smooth hear punch from the Heart Punch Pack to cut the half-circle at the top of the slider layer.

Here's a video showing the basics of making this card. It's not the same one, but you can adapt the cutting, scoring, and the general making of the card to the one I've made!

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pumpkins!

Hey there! School started yesterday for my Liam & Darcy, which means I am back to babysitting for their baby sister, Fiona! With back-to-school also comes thoughts of fall, and I've been playing a bit with the Pretty Pumpkins bundle from the July-December Mini Catalog, aka Holiday Catalog!

I used a new-to-me fun-fold, the Pop-Up-Flip along with the new Timber 3D embossing folder and copper heat embossing.

Tip: Always stamp or heat-emboss your sentiment before you dry emboss with your folder and Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine!

I love the detail of this copper heat-embossed pumpkin, cut with one of the Detailed Pumpkins Dies!

I cut this pumpkin from Copper Brushed Metallic card stock, a returning favorite to the Holiday Mini!

When you open the card the focal point pumpkin from the front pops up inside!

I stamped the pumpkins with Cajun Craze ink and copper heat-embossed the sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pumpkins!

Stampin’ Up! Misty Moonlight Daisy Garden!

Hey there! Today I have a couple of cards to share with you that I created with Daisy Garden and Many Messages! I wanted the daisies to have a blue hue , so I stamped Daisy Garden with Misty Moonlight before coloring with Stampin' Blends:

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the daisies. It is a large stamp, so using the Stamparatus makes it easier to get good inking and if you need to re-ink to fill in a faint spot you can! I colored around the daisies with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, filled in the centers with Light Daffodil Delight, and colored the stems & leaves with Light Old Olive.

Inside and out I used sentiments from the Many Messages stamp set, cut with the Messages Die.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day August 8th!

Hey there! It's Sunday, which of course means it's time to share some swaps! I have an eclectic group for you today!

First, Karen Kurz used the Beauty of Friendship Bundle with Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder to create her swap:
