Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday, September 7th!

Hey there! I hope you all had a good Labor Day weekend! We spent the weekend in Branson, which has been my hubby & I's traditional trip for the past 20 years. We see a few shows, eat out of course, and relax! Two of our favorite shows are whatever is playing at the Sight & Sound Theater (this year it was "Jesus") and the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Play.

While I was in the car I was able to work on a few blog posts, and decided if everyone was a busy with other things this weekend like I was and weren't on the internet much, like me, I would save my projects for the coming week!

Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Dahlias!

Hey there! Today I'm going in a different direction entirely, although I am still using Delicate Dahlias Sale-a-bration stamp set. I CASED (and of course add my own changes) to a card found on page 24 of the July-December Mini Catalog. It's a Christmas card, but mine is a birthday card. There's so much great inspiration to be found in the pages of a Stampin' Up! catalog!

This card is a combination of heat-embossing, die-cutting, fussy-cutting with paper snips, vellum, rhinestones, and Whimsy & Wonder designer series paper!

I created a "bow" with Mint Macaron Flowers For Every Season ribbon, tied together with a bit of Linen Thread.

The greeting is from Delicate Dahlias, heat-embossed on the vellum with white powder.

Inside I used a birthday greeting from Shaded Summer.

I also got inspiration for this card from Artisan Tami Hewlett.

Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Dahlias!

Stampin’ Up! Misty Moonlight Double Time Spotlighted Delicate Dahlias!

Hey there! Today I have another Delicate Dahlias card to share with you! I know I need to move on to some of the other Sale-a-bration freebies, but I LOVE this set!

As you read in the title for today's post, I've created a Delicate Dahlia Double-Time Spotlighted card featuring Misty Moonlight and the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder:

Double-time is even easier than Triple-Time stamping! You cut your layers of Very Vanilla, adhere together with a tiny bit of adhesive, and then stamp! Don't worry if the images don't completely ink near the edges of the smaller layer, that will mostly be covered up by the Crumb Cake layer you add after you are finished stamping the spotlighting!

Take the two layers apart and add color to the two dahlias on the smaller layer using stamped-off Misty Moonlight ink.

Lay the two layers back together and emboss inside the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Take the layers apart and lightly add Crumb Cake all over the layers with a Blending Brush.

Adhere the bottom 5 1/4" x 4" stamped layer to the card front. Adhere the 2 3/4" x 4" top stamped layer to a 3" x 4 1/4" layer of Crumb Cake. Wrap Linen Thread around the top layers a few times and tie in a knot. Adhere to the card front so the flowers and leaves "match". Add Gilded Gems and a "hello" banner 1/2" x 1 1/4" snipped into banner points on one end with Paper Snips.

The blended Crumb Cake makes the embossing of the Timeworn Type folder pop!

I love adding the Gilded Gems!

Inside I stamped with another Delicate Dahlias sentiment and a few more Soft Succulent leaves. I made sure I blended a bit more Crumb Cake around the Very Vanilla edges for continuity with the card front.

Stampin’ Up! Cards That Move!

Hey there! It's time again for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop! Our theme for August is "Cards That Move"!

I decided to re-visit a card fold that I just recently learned, the Pop-Up! Flip, only this time I am featuring the Sale-a-bration Freebie, Delicate Dahlias, and the In Color, Fresh Freesia!

I stamped the Fresh Freesia layer with the open bloom and a tiny solids leaf with Fresh Freesia ink, cut the opening with a Layering Circle die, then embossed the layer with the Macrame 3D embossing folder. I stamped Basic White with both of the dahlia stamps, cut with the same Layering Circle die, then stamped around the edges with the solid leaf image and Soft Succulent ink.

I tied a knot of Soft Succulent 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon and added a few Pastel Pearls for adornment.

I stamped the inside with the same colors, and added a sentiment from Sunny Sentiments.

Stampin’ Up! Delicate Dahlias Pop-Up Slider!

Hey there! Today I have another card that moves, a Pop-Up! Slider, created with the Delicate Dahlias Sale-a-bration set, and Best Year!

A simple pull on the string and the top slides up and the middle folds to reveal the sentiments!

I heat embossed the dahlias with white embossing powder on the Blushing Bride layer. I added a few pink Pastel Pearls for embellishment.

I heat embossed "hello" from Delicate Dahlias with white powder, then simply cut around it with my Paper Trimmer.

I stamped the lower sentiment with Early Espresso ink, leaving just enough room to sign the card.

The top sentiment, also from Best Year. I used the top of the smooth hear punch from the Heart Punch Pack to cut the half-circle at the top of the slider layer.

Here's a video showing the basics of making this card. It's not the same one, but you can adapt the cutting, scoring, and the general making of the card to the one I've made!

Stampin’ Up! Delicate Dahlias Pop-Up Slider!

Hey there! Today I have another card that moves, a Pop-Up! Slider, created with the Delicate Dahlias Sale-a-bration set, and Best Year!

A simple pull on the string and the top slides up and the middle folds to reveal the sentiments!

I heat embossed the dahlias with white embossing powder on the Blushing Bride layer. I added a few pink Pastel Pearls for embellishment.

I heat embossed "hello" from Delicate Dahlias with white powder, then simply cut around it with my Paper Trimmer.

I stamped the lower sentiment with Early Espresso ink, leaving just enough room to sign the card.

The top sentiment, also from Best Year. I used the top of the smooth hear punch from the Heart Punch Pack to cut the half-circle at the top of the slider layer.

Here's a video showing the basics of making this card. It's not the same one, but you can adapt the cutting, scoring, and the general making of the card to the one I've made!

Stampin’ Up! Delicate Dahlias & Butterfly Brilliance!

Hey there! Today I have a special card I created for my friend Linda. Linda & I have been friends for over 15 years, ever since she came to one of my early Stamp Camps and then decided to join my team of Yes Mam! Stampers. Linda passed away a couple of weeks ago from complications following a routine surgery, so it was a shock for me as well as several members of my team who knew Linda from traveling with her to Stampin' Up! functions.

I created this card to give to her family as a token of my sympathy and love for my friend with Delicate Dahlias, a Sale-a-bration freebie, Butterfly Brilliance, and Shaded Summer stamps. Linda loved every butterfly stamp set that Stampin' Up! came out with! If I didn't know what kind of butterfly a stamp was, she could always tell me!

I created these cards by first stamping on a Basic White layer with the Butterfly Brilliance image, the Stamparatus, and Versamark ink. I then heat embossed the butterflies with clear powder. After the embossing cooled (a few seconds), I stamped over them with Delicate Dahlias images using Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, and Soft Succulent ink. After stamping, I then gently rubbed off the excess ink from the embossed images to make them "pop"!

The greeting is from Delicate Dahlias, cut with a Tasteful Label Die.

Inside I used a sentiment from Shaded Summer.

Delicate Dahlias is a Sale-a-bration set that you can only get with an order of at least $100. Shaded Summer coordinates with the Sale-a-bration Summer Shadows Dies, another freebie with a $100 order.
