Stampin’ Up! Fresh Prints Balloons!

Stampin’ Up! Fresh Prints Balloons!

Hey there! Hope your Monday is going well. I got up really early this morning to go to Jessica's house to help the girls (chiefly Ava) get ready for school, then I've been watching Jaxon until Jessica gets home. She went to a photography seminar in Champaign, IL over the weekend.

I spent a few days last week stamping, stamping, stamping, so I  have quite a pile of projects waiting to show you. Today's project incorporates the balloon tutorial that went out with my last newsletter, only this time I used the Extra Large Oval Punch for the body of the balloons:
Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_1

I liked using the Extra Large Oval Punch, because I could stamp the greeting from Regarding Dahlias first, and then punch it out. I used one of the patterns from the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack and Island Indigo cardstock for the other two balloms, all anchored with Island Indigo Bakers Twine and highlighted with my White Chalk Marker.

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_2

I've tried to capture for you the custom-made clouds embossing I did on the Soft Sky layer, but it's hard to see:

Stampin_up_regarding_dahlias_4

Inside I stamped a sentiment from Bring on the Cake:

Stampin_up_balloons

Here's how I made the embossed clouds:

I started by cutting 24 clouds with the cloud-shaped word bubble framelit and some medium-weight cardboard I had saved in my stash from discarded packaging. I stacked the clouds three high, adhering them to each other and the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardboard base with SNAIL. I trimmed off the ends of the clouds flush with the edges of the base with scissors.

Stampin_up_word_bubbles_clouds_1

Starting with Tab 1 and a cutting plate, I put the cardstock I wanted to emboss face-down on the clouds shapes on the Big Shot platform.

Stampin_up_word_bubbles_clouds_3

I added three layers of craft felt over the cardstock/clouds layers before finishing with the top cutting pad. I cranked this through the Big Shot. It was tight, but not too tight to go through. You need the layers of felt so they will squish down over the cloud shapes and emboss the paper. (If you have one of the soft, floppy silicone pads from Stampin' Up!'s retired Letterpress plates that would work too, but I wanted to use something that was readily available and not frustrate you by using something I can't sell to you anymore.)

Stampin_up_word_bubbles_clouds_4

After embossing the clouds I sponge them with whatever color I want them to be. On today's card I sponged them with White Craft ink. In the picture below I sponged the white clouds with Soft Sky ink.

Stampin_up_word_bubbles_clouds_6

I attached this layer to my card with LOTS of Stampin' Dimensionals. I even put a dimensional in the center of each cloud to keep them from flattening as the card went through the mail.

Finished card again:

Stampin’ Up! Afternoon Picnic Tea Party Card!

Stampin’ Up! Afternoon Picnic Tea Party Card!

Hey there! Good day today. I slept Nyquil-free last night! yay!

I have just a few more workshops left for Sale-a-bration. The next one is Thursday night for Kim. Last summer when I did a workshop for her we made a teapot card using the Gingham Garden Designer Paper. You can see that card HERE. Kim enjoyed the card so much she wanted to make it again, so I re-created it using Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper, Sahara Sand Cardstock, and the Tea Party stamp set:

Stampin_up_tea_party_1 - Copy

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. It's very soft and vintag-y, in contrast to the bright and retro one from last summer!

Stampin_up_tea_party_2 - Copy

The body of the teapot is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder. We are inserting a tag made with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and stamped with a sentiment from Blooming With Kindness.

Stampin_up_tea_party_3 - Copy

We are adding a few tiny pearls to the Tea Party teapot, and the ends of the tag are stamped with the scallop stamp from the Tea Party set with Wisteria Wonder ink.

Stampin_up_tea_party_4 - Copy

Since this card is a little larger than your standard-size, we are making a custome envelope with more Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper and the Envelope Punch Board.

That's all for now! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Here's the supply list for today's project. Click on any of the pictures to find that item in my Online Store:

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day!

Hey there! I'm doing better, not great, but better. Lots of rest, fluids, and Nyquil are doing their job! After my fever broke during the night last night, I've been feeling quite a bit better. My head's still very stuffy and my nose is still runny (TMI, sorry!), but at least I don't feel like I'm carrying a baby elephant on my back like I did yesterday!

I'm so glad it's Sunday Swap Day, because at least today I have some pretty things to show you!

Raedean Shibata's creation with Hardwood, Peaceful Petals, Lacy & Lovely, Chalk Talk & Ovals Framelits. A layer of Vellum cardstock is held down to the cardfront with Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape. Raedean stamped directly on the vellum with StazOn Black ink, then colored the blossoms, stems, and leaves with Stmapin' Write Markers.

Stampin_up_peaceful_petals_raedean_shibata

Ruthann Liley's creation with Petite Petals Bundle, Hearts Framelits, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Bird Builder Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, & Rhinestones. She used Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and ink, and cardstock colors of Whisper White and Pistachio Pudding.

This would make a pretty wedding, valentine, or baby card too!

Stampin_up_petite_petals_ruthanneliley

Kathy Johnson's creation with Secret Garden and "Thinking of You" from Thoughts and Prayers. Her colors are Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, and stamped-off Daffodil Delight for the centers. She cut out the main flower with the coordinating Secret Garden Framelit. After stamping all the flowers and leaves on Whisper White she embossed the layer with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot.

Bluesox Stamping Tip: "Stamping Off" is a stamping term used when you ink your stamp on the stamp pad, then stamp on a piece of scrap paper at least one time before stamping on your project. This gives you a lighter version of the original color. It also gives you TWO shades for the price of one inkpad!

Nancy Hall heat-embossed Vivid Vases with Tangerine Tango Stampin' Emboss Powder on Soft Suede cardstock for her creation. She mounted it on a layer of Coastal Cabana which had been dry-embossed  with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Folder. She accented a flower with a Pearl Basic Jewel, and punched a little banner flag with the Banner Punch and Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper. There are 12 different designs in each package of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper, which all coordinate with each other, making it the perfect additon to just about any project!

Stampin_up_vivid_vases_nancy_hall

That's all for now. I'm bushed and it's time for bed. I'm going to go easy on myself tonight and just remind you that you can always order your Stampin' Up! supplies in my Online Store.

There's only 1 short week left of Sale-a-bration, so don't hesitate to place your order and choose your freebies, one with each $50 you order (before tax & shipping).

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Simple Stems!

Stampin’ Up! Simple Stems!

Hey there! Things have been pretty hectic around here the past few days, so much so that I finally sat down tonight and stamped something new:

Stampin_up_simple_stems_1 - Copy

I love the Simple Stems set in the Occasions Catalog, and this flower that I stamped with Melon Mambo ink in particular. Isn't it just gorgeous?

My color palette is Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, and Melon Mambo, very fresh, lush, and spring-y!

Stampin_up_simple_stems_2 - Copy

I used sentiments from Blessings from Heaven inside and out.

Stampin_up_simple_stems_3 - Copy

I stamped and fussy-cut my favorite blossom with Melon Mambo on Very Vanilla. I added the tiniest pearls to the center of the bloom and randomly in the greeting.

Stampin_up_simple_stems_4 - Copy

I stamped the blossom on a piece of scrap paper, then cut it out with my Paper Snips to create a mask to cover the bottom row of stamped blossoms before stamping the second row. I put a bit of 2-way glue on the back of my mask, then let it air-dry to Post-it-Note consistency so I could cover, stamp, then remove the mask so it wouldn't harm my creation.

That's all for now. It's really late (1 a.m), so if I want to have any brains for my stamping tomorrow I had better get to bed!

Before I go, here's a supply list to use when you shop in my Online Store:
