Stampin’ Up! Banner for a Boy!

Stampin’ Up! Banner for a Boy!

Hey there! We had a relaxing Sunday. We finally were able to get everyone here to celebrate Mark's birthday. We had lunch, gifts for the birthday guy and then we had a session of target practice. Yes, I do shoot guns occasionally, but only for fun. I've shot clay targets as well as stationary targets. I went squirrel hunting a few times with Mark back when we were first married, but don't ask me to go when it's cold! My mom shot guns with my dad, and even had her own 410 shotgun, so I guess it's a bit of a tradition. Later I took a nap while several of the kids played a game "Oh Gnome You Don't"! It was a good day.

A few weeks ago Jessica asked me to create a birthday banner for one of her clients' third birthday photo session. If you haven't guessed this about me already, I tend to procrastinate and then get my best ideas at the last minute, and this project was no exception. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Jessica took the pictures for me so they have her watermark on them. Isn't this little guy just so cute?

Marina Mist and Garden Green cardstock, accented with Daffodil Delight stars and birthday candles stamped with the Cycle Celebration set. The Basic Black "THREE" letters are from retired Big Shot dies.

11039489_10152821712826374_430356105_n

I hand-cut the banners, then punched the holes to thread the heavy jute twine with my 1/4" handheld punch.

11020289_10152821712686374_412646803_n

I plan to make more of these in several colors, for both boys and girls. The next one I make I will use a star for the candle flame too.

11040133_10152821712746374_1138260732_n

To give the letters more dimension I cut out three of each letter and stacked them together with Glue Dots before adhering them to the banners.

That's all for today. You can find the card stocks, the Cycle Celebration stamp set, and the star punch in my online store here:http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/

There's still time to get some freebies with your order. Order $50 or more in my store and you will get to choose an item from the Sale-a-bration brochure or flyers.

You will also receive a Thank You Project Packet in the mail from me!

Thanks for stopping in! Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Stampin’ Up! Indescribable Gift Journal for the Womens’ Conference!

Stampin’ Up! Indescribable Gift Journal for the Womens’ Conference!

Hey there! Happy Friday! This week has whizzed by! I've been working on two projects for the "Stamped In His Image" class I am in charge of at the Nashville Assembly of God Women's Conference "Beauty For Ashes" tomorrow.

Here's the first of the two projects, a prayer/journal:

Stampin_up_indescribable_gift_notebook_1 - Copy

Starting with a Large Kraft Journal from the Occasions Catalog, we are heat-embossing the image with White Stampin' Emboss powder on White card stock Vellum, coloring on the back of the vellum with Stampin' Write Markers. If we colored on the front side it would look pretty icky:

Step 4

Turned over to let the vellum soften the inks:

Step 5

Isn't it a lovely difference? After coloring, the image is cut with an Ovals Collection Framelits Die, then layered on a same-size Pink Pirouette oval using glue dots under the darkest colored areas so they don't show through. We are cutting a Tea Lace Doily in half to adhere on either side of the Pink Pirouette oval, then layering onto a Spring Flowers-embossed Pear Pizzazz scalloped oval with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, all is adhered to the Kraft Journal with dimensionals.

Indescribable journal 2 - Copy

The letters for "NOTES", cut from Blushing Bride card stock using Little Letters Framelits Dies, are adhered to the journal using Tombow Multipurpose Glue carefully applied to each letter with a toothpick.

Stampin_up_indescribable_notes - Copy

Final touches are tabs cut with the File Tabs Edgelits Dies. I wrote, "verses", "thoughts" and "Prayer List" with a White Stampin' Chalk Marker on mine.

Stampin'up_indescribable_gift_notebook_3 - Copy

In case you are wondering how we will have time to make this journal AND a card in the 50 minutes allowed for the class, I have pre-cut everything and heat-embossed the image. All attendees will do is color the image, cut the Tea Lace doily in half, emboss the Pear Pizzazz scallop oval with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and assemble!

If you would like to purchase the supplies to make your own Indescribable Gift Journal, you can find everything shown below in my Online Store:

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/

Don't forget to choose your free Sale-a-bration item(s) for every $50 increment you order, AND you will receive a Thank-you Project Packet in the mail from me too!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop March Edition, Stamping Home Decor!

Stampin’ Up! Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop March Edition, Stamping Home Decor!

1797524_10152216933805070_1250170996_n

Hey there! It's the 15th, which means it's Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop Day! March's theme is Home Decor, which is a bit of a challenge for me, but it's good to stretch out of your comfort zone, right?

If you are already on the hop, you probably just came from Stella MacKay's blog, Stellar Stamps!  I always love Stella's projects, don't you?

To start my quest for ideas for home decor, I went to Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. The first thing I picked up at Dollar Tree was an open-weave twine place mat. I actually picked up three of these in spring green, tangerine tango, and midnight muse. I still have ideas for the other two, but this is the result with the spring green mat:

Stampin_up_all_abloom_bow_builder_punch_wreath_1 - Copy

Wreath forms can be pricey sometimes, so finding these place mats for a dollar was a deal I just couldn't pass up. I think it looks pretty wreath-ish, yes?

Stampin_up_all_abloom_bow_builder_punch_wreath_3 - Copy

I cut the "hello spring" letters with my Little Letters Thinlets Dies from Strawberry Slush Backgrounds Designer Paper. They are layered on a hand-cut Whisper White banner, layered on two strips of 1 1/4" Burlap ribbon that I banner cut the ends too.

I didn't even have to worry about a hanger on the wreath because my wreath hook fits through the open-weave of the place mat perfectly!

But here's the BEST part of this wreath: the flowers were made with the Bow Builder Punch and the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack that is on sale in the Weekly Deals through tomorrow!

Here's the supply list for this project. You can find all the supplies in my online store: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/carolpayne/

I know the price shown below for the All Abloom Designer Paper Stack says $6.95, but trust me, it's on sale for $5.21 through 11:50 p.m. MT Monday night!

Stampin’ Up! Time to Celebrate!

Stampin’ Up! Time to Celebrate!

Hey there! The 2015 Occasions Catalog AND Sale-a-bration starts tomorrow! Today is a good time to share the notebook I gave my downline who attended the Occasions Catalog/SAB Kickoff with me in early December:

Stampin_up_time_to_celebrate_1 - Copy

I added a cover to a mini legal-size notepad. Starting with a layer of Blackberry Bliss, I added a Pear Pizzazz layer stamped with the leaf from the Crazy For You stamp set from the Occasions Catalog using Pear Pizzazz ink. I received this set and the Time to Celebrate Hostess set at the 2014 Founder's Circle Retreat in September.

Stampin_up_time_to_celebrate_2 - Copy

I stamped a Beautiful Bunch flower with Blackberry Bliss ink, then punched with the Fun Flower Punch. I layered it on a second Fun Flower punched from Blackberry Bliss cardstock with a Stampin' Dimensional.

The little worm is my favorite from the Time to Celebrate Hostess Set. This set is a limited-edition available ONLY to hostesses who have a party or place an order  of at least $150. This set is ONLY available from January 6-June 2! Contact me to book your party, or go to my online store to place your order of at least $150 staring January 6th (tomorrow!)

With Sale-a-bration running from January 6-March 31, you can choose a free item from the Sale-a-bration brochure with every $50 you spend! yay!

The "worm wishes" sentiment that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink is also from Time to Celebrate.

That's all for now! I plan to be back tomorrow with another cute Occasions Catalog/SAB project, unless baby Lando arrives before then!

Here's the supply list for the notebook cover. Starting tomorrow all of the products will be available in my online store: www.carolpayne.stampinup.net
