Stampin’ Up! Pleased As Punch Tulips!

Stampin’ Up! Pleased As Punch Tulips!

Hey there! Up to now I've been creating cards with just snippets and punched-out images from the Pleased As Punch Designer Paper. The card I'm sharing today uses a full card front with the tulips print! How about that?

Stampin_up_timeless_tulips_carolpaynestamps1

I tied a bow with white 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon:

I inked the tulip with Flirty Flamingo, stamped-off once, then used the "rock n roll" technique to add an edge of full-strength Flirty Flamingo before stamping and punching with the Tulip Builder Punch. I explain how to do "rock n' roll" in my free downloadable tutorial below!

Inside I used a masking technique to give the look of the leaves being behind the tulips. I show you how to do this too in my tutorial below!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Tuesday!

Hey there! The Christmas Chaos Countdown has really gotten the better of me this year. Seems like I'm playing catch-up with everything, including blogging! eeek!

Today I want to share with you some swaps I received last month with a "techniques" theme.

First,  Renee Watson used the "Smackin' Acetate" technique to get the splotchy background for her balloons. The greeting is from Confetti Celebration. She added sparkle to the black balloons with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Next, Lorraine Duran used Feather Together with Dapper Denim cardstock and ink, stamping on Watercolor Paper for more texture. She used retiring Kraft Rope Trim, which is discounted 40% off while supplies last!

Cindy Ewertz gold heat-embossed directly onto Moroccan Designer Series Paper with images from the retiring It's a Celebration set:

If you didn't get Christmas cards made this year, it's not too late to do some for the New Year!

Finally, Rhonda Bassler used the Picture Perfect set for her easel card:

She used the emboss-resist technique, embossing the starfish with clear powder on Very Vanilla before sponging with Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sky ink.

I have more to share, but I'll save them for another day.

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Peace on Vellum and New Weekly Deals!

Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Peace on Vellum and New Weekly Deals!

Hey there. It's been a hectic last couple of weeks with all kinds of events, sickness, appointments, babysitting, parties, weddings, you name it, we've probably experienced it lately. New babies are coming soon, the first new grandson is due on New Year's Day!

So my blog has been ignored, and I'm sorry. Today I'm getting back on the blogging bandwagon. How about a little Nature's Peace for starters?

Stampin_up_natures_peace_1

I love this image embossed on vellum, so I used Early Espresso Stampin' Emboss Powder. I placed random glue dots on the back under the embossing to adhere to the Lost Lagoon layer. Not suprisingly, the Chocolate Chip card base coordinated well with the Early Espresso!

Stampin_up_natures_peace_2

Inside I used more stamps from Nature's Peace to complete the sentiments and theme.

How do you like that cool "softness" in the lower left corner of these pics? I wish I could take credit for it, however, after taking these pics I found there was a smear on the lens of my little point-and-shoot. Probably chocolate! lol! Seriously, I found Liam playing with it the other day. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

We made this card last night at my last Stampin' party of the Christmas season at Donna's house. We meet there once a month to stamp and have a Mystery Hostess drawing for the Hostess Benefits. Our attendance has been growing every month, so if you like to stamp or would like to learn, come stamp with us next month on Friday, January 23rd. Contact me for more info.

EDITED TO ADD: Click on this link to download your own copy of the class handout for this card:
