Stampin’ Up! On the Farm Beginner, Casual, and Avid!

Hey there! Today I have a set of three cards to share with you created by my team member, Angela Black. Angela created these cards for our Shoebox Swap last week, so everyone who attended was able to make one of each of her cards. Angela chose the On the Farm Bundle from the January-April Mini Catalog, then added in the Day At the Farm 12 x 12 Designer Paper she chose as a free gift with a $50 order from the Sale-a-bration Brochure.

Angela's Beginner Stamper card was all simple basic stamping with the On the Farm stamps. The card base is Old Olive, the focal image layer is Basie White, and the mat layer is Garden Green. She had us use Balmy Blue for the clouds, Soft Suede for the animals and the greeting, and stamped-off Garden Green for the grass.

Angela's added Day at the Farm Designer paper for the background of her Casual Stamper card, wrapping white baker's twine that she dyed with the Cajun Craze ink pad around the first two front layers. She had us stamp the hills on a Basic White layer cut with a Deckled Rectangle Die, then we colored the hills and sky with a light wash of Old Olive and Balmy Blue using a Water Painter and the ink squeezed into the lid of the ink pads. The animals are cut from another print of the Day At The Farm Designer Paper using On the Farm dies.

We added another strip of designer paper to the inside, added more watercolor wash to the Basic White layer, then added chickens cut from the same print of Day At the Farm designer paper.

For our Avid Stamper card we did all stamping again, starting with the card front, where we stamped the hills repeatedly with Garden Green ink. We stamped and colored the background and animals with the Water Painter again.

We created the greeting banner with Daffodil Delight, Basic White, and a snippet of Day At the Farm Designer Paper. We created the banner ends with Paper Snips. We tied a bit of White Baker's Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack into a tiny bow and added it with a dot of liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay One More Time!

Hey there! Today's card is the final one in this Seaside Bay step-up series. I added a fun z-fold presentation and used the Seaside Bay dies:
This greeting is found in the Seaside Bay stamp set, stamped with Soft Suede on the Pale Papaya-stamped background.

I used one of the Seaside Bay dies to cut the oyster shells. I added Balmy Blue shading with a Small Blending Brush.

For the inside I stamped the oyster image from Seaside Bay with Balmy Blue ink, then used the coordinating die to cut it out. This oyster didn't exactly fit the outside shells, so I used my Paper Snips to cut it down a little bit before adhering inside the shells and adding a single Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl.

I stamped the inside with a sentiment from Season of Chic.

These three cards were a lot of fun to create, I'm actually glad I couldn't find the coordinating designer paper!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day with Seaside Bay!

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay Casual Stamper Card!

Hey there! Where has this week gone? It has flown by, and I feel like I didn't accomplish much, although I know I did do a lot of different things. Yesterday evening my husband commented that the first week of the year was almost over with only 51 weeks left! Wow! That definitely puts it in a different perspective, doesn't it?

Today's card is a step-up card from the Seaside Bay beginner card I shared with you yesterday. Today's card is very similar to yesterday's but I stepped it up with just a few additions; the Seashells 3D embossing folder, the new Small Blending Brushes, and new Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls.

I did all of the stamping before I ran the 4" x 5 1/4" layer of Very Vanilla through Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Seashells 3D embossing folder. After embossing I used one of the new Small Blending Brushes (they are so cute and are perfect for precise ink blending!) to add Balmy Blue ink around the outer edges of the layer, and a little bit on the raise embossed images. I added a single Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearl for a little sparkle.

I used another sentiment from Season of Chic to complete this thank-you card.

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay Beginner Card!

Hey there! My timing is still off, but at least I'm getting a post out there for today!

The card I want to share with you today is the beginner version with the Seaside Bay stamp set. When I was thinking of how I wanted to make my three cards to share with my team (and with you!) I planned to stamp directly on the By the Bay 6" x 6" Designer Paper, which I received in my first pre-order back in early November. However, I couldn't find the paper anywhere, so I decided to just use the stamps from the set along with the Oceanfront stamp set to create my cards, which is more of a beginner technique anyway!

I started with a Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock base, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4". I used the "portrait" presentation as shown. I then did my stamping on a 4" x 5 1/4" layer of regular (thinner) Very Vanilla. I stamped Oceanfront images with Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue, and Crumb Cake ink to look like the ocean, sunrise, and sand. I stamped the sandpiper (from Seaside Bay) with Crumb Cake ink, then stamped him again over the first stamping with Soft Suede ink because he was too pale. I didn't get the second stamping exactly over the first, but I decided I liked it that way because these little birds never stay still for long and the "blur" looks like he is moving. I stamped the sea grass (from Oceanfront) with Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped the sand image from Seaside Bay all around the outside edge of the layer.

"Heartfelt Sympathy", stamped with Soft Suede, is also found in the Seaside Bay set.

"thinking of you" is from the Season of Chic stamp set. The baby sandpipers are stamped with Crumb Cake.

I will be back tomorrow, hopefully in the morning, with the Casual stamper Seaside Bay card!

Stampin’ Up! Happy New Catalog Day With Seaside Bay!

Hey there! I had to skip posting yesterday. I had Fiona on Tuesday night and yesterday, and while she is a joy to have around, she also keeps me hopping! I'm late posting today for the same reason, but she is due to go down for her nap in a bit so I should find enough time to get this post finished!

Happy New Mini Catalog Day! I had a chance to play with the Seaside Bay bundle a few days ago for a little gathering I had with a few of my team, the Yes Mam! Stampers. I will be sharing specific details for each card over the next few days, as well as the cards they contributed to the evening (it was a shoebox swap).

For today I am just sharing a picture of the three cards I created with the Seaside Bundle for my shoebox swap. We each chose a bundle from the Product Purchase Premiere we were able to order earlier than other demos because we attended the OnStage event in Indianapolis, Indiana back in early November. We decided to follow the guidelines of creating a beginner card, a card for the casual stamper, and an avid stamper card. Can you tell which one is which???

Stampin’ Up! Adorable Owls Sneak Peek!

Hey there! I'm back for the second day in a row! Are you surprised? I hope you aren't "too" surprised, as I plan to be posting here much more often than I have the past few months. It all started with something going haywire with Typepad, the blog host I use, that wouldn't allow photos to upload. It took awhile for me to discover that it wasn't my laptop's fault, nor our home internet, but an actual Typepad problem. About the time that finally was resolved, (which Typepad did not notify their customers when it was fixed, I just happened to check one day after growing tired of trying to upload photos every day with no success) the holiday chaos was beginning. Then I came down with Influenza A and was down on the couch for almost a week. I recovered just in time for my youngest son's college graduation (magna cum laude in English Literature) and then the final push to finish Christmas.

I did get a couple of projects completed for a swap before I went down on the couch, the Dainty Delight Calendar Easel card I shared with you yesterday and today's card created with the new Sale-a-bration set, Adorable Owls!

I used a simple z-fold for my card base, then used strips of Happy Forest Friends Designer Paper for the background. After stamping the owl with Soft Suede ink, I colored with the Stampin' Blends listed below and then punched with the Decorative Circle Punch. The bow is tied with the Pumpkin Pie twine found in the Three Twine Combo pack from the January/April 2023 Mini catalog page 59.

I finished off the inside with another strip of the Happy Forest Friends Designer paper and a sentiment from another $50 freebie Sale-a-bration set, Sending Support.

Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight Sneak Peek!

Hey there! I decided after my battle with Influenza A in December and the subsequent stress and chaos of trying to finish getting ready for our family Christmas that I would take off the rest of the month to rest and relax with my family. My kids and their families have a tradition of coming to my house at least part of almost every day between Christmas and New Years to play games and just hang out, and this year was no exception!

I was able to visit with everyone and cuddle with the littlest grand-babies, Atreyu (almost 6 months) and Wesley (one month). I just decided to give myself a stay-cation and I'm glad I did!

But now it's January 2nd and time to get back into a routine. I plan to get up earlier and go to bed a "little" earlier too. It's not always easy because I'm a night owl by nature and get into my "creative groove" at about 9 pm.!

The project I have to share with you today I created back at the beginning of December for a swap I participated in. You will get to see the swaps over the next few Sundays, but today's project/card is created with new products from the January/April 2023 Mini Catalog. This catalog goes live on Thursday, January 5th, so you don't have too long to wait to start ordering. As usual, the beginning date of the Mini Catalog coordinates with the beginning of Sale-a-bration 2023, which lasts through February 28. This will be the only Sale-a-bration period in 2023. The past two years Stampin' Up! has had a second Sale-a-bration in the summer, but this year they are opting to run individual monthly specials during this period instead of another SAB. I will of course be posting the details about those specials as soon as I get the details from Stampin' Up!

My project today is an easel-calendar card created with the Dainty Delight Bundle of stamps and dies (both with the same title, finally!)Thank you Stampin' Up! for making it easier to keep the stamps and their matching dies straight!) found on page 55 of the January/April 2023 Mini and Dainty Flowers 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper found on page 6 of the Sale-a-bration Brochure. The Dainty Flowers Designer Paper can be yours as your free choice when you order at least $50 starting on January 5th!

I get my calendars from www.vippies.com. They come in increments of 25-100. I usually order at least 100, because the more you buy they cheaper they are!

I used "the best is yet of come", found in the Dainty Delight stamp set, to create the easel "stop" so it can stand up by itself. I cut the phrase with a Stylish Shapes die, and mounted it on a layer of Fresh Freesia cut with another Stylish Shapes die. I will put the clickable list of the supplies I used with the links to my online store at the bottom of my post.

I used two patterns of the Dainty Flowers Designer Paper. It has been photographed by Stampin' Up! to give the look of texture, even though the paper itself is not. I cut the flowers and the stems with Dainty Delight Dies, and added Flat Adhesive-backed Pearls, another new product coming on January 5th!

Stampin’ Up! Nuts About Squirrels!

Hey there! Today I am sharing a couple of cards I created with the Nuts About Squirrels stamp set. I saw a set of cards posted by Stampin' Up! online featuring this stamp set along with the Hello Harvest Bundle and Fancy Frames Dies and couldn't resist making a couple of my own versions!

For my first card I stamped the squirrel using the Stamparatus to get a good solid inking, then hand-cut it out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the pumpkin from Hello Harvest with Soft Succulent ink, then colored with the Light Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends alcohol marker. I added Light Crumb Cake to the pumpkin stem, then used the Stampin' Blends Color Lifter to remove some of the Soft Succulent ink in the center of the pumpkin.

After cutting out the pumpkin with a Rustic Pumpkin Die, I added it over the leafy rectangle I had cut with the Fancy Frames Dies and the Soft Suede leaf from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem pack. I used some of the Amber Gems too for some sparkle, and tucked a couple of Open Leaf Trinkets between the layers, securing with glue dots.

I added some subtle shimmer to the pumpkin with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I also highlighted the squirrel's eye with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

I stamped a greeting from Nuts About Squirrels with Cajun Craze ink on a scrap of Basic White, then used my Paper Snips again to cut banner points on each end.

The second card I created I cut the leafy rectangle from Soft Succulent, adding a layer of Adhesive Sheet to the back before running through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. When I removed the protective backing of the Adhesive Sheet the cut pieces mostly fell out with it and it was ready to adhere to the card front! I stamped the squirrel again with Cajun Craze ink and the Stamparatus, then cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies. This saved a lot of time and stress vs. hand-cutting with the snips.

Instead of using the Leaf Label & Amber Gems pack I stamped the leaf from the Hello Harvest stamp set with Soft Suede ink. I stamped again without re-inking, then cut them out with the coordinating Rustic Pumpkin die. I added copper pearls from the Brushed Metallic Dots pack.

Inside I stamped another sentiment from Nuts About Squirrels and added a couple more leaves to tie in with the card front.
