Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop January Edition: Let’s Sale-a-brate!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop January Edition: Let’s Sale-a-brate!

Hey there! Welcome to the January Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! We are happy to again be back to a full Stamper's Dozen (baker's dozen = 13) of crafty creators! yay!

1800397_10152216696440070_2004070056_n

Our theme this month, "Let's Sale-a-brate!", uses at least one product from the Sale-a-bration catalog!

For my project(s) this month I used three different Sale-a-bration items.. Each one was free with a $50 product order!

I used Tutti-Frutti  Cards & Envelopes, Heartfelt Blooms stamps, and the Shimmer Ribbon Pack, all from the Sale-a-bration brochure for my creations today.

' Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps1

I started with the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes for all of my card bases. This free pack (choose this with your $50 order) contains 16 preprinted card bases and envelopes; 4 each of 4 designs in Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Lemon-Lime Twist, and Pool Party. (See the supply list at the bottom of this post for the full list)

I stamped the Heartfelt Blooms flower withe Tuxedo Momento Black ink  on Glossy card stock. You want to use a not-too-juicy inkpad and a light touch while inking and stamping to get the best image. This flower is part of Stampin' Up!'s new "Distinktive" line of stamps. Distinktive is also patent-pending because the way the rubber is made it lays down ink at different opacities to give the finished image more depth. Inked lightly, you get a perfect photographic finish!

For this card I stamped the Heartfelt Bloom with Bermuda Bay ink on Glossy card stock.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps2

I used the Basic Gray 1/4" wide Shimmer Ribbon from the free Sale-a-bration pack.

The Pool Party Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins coordinated nicely.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps4

I stamped a Heartfelt Blooms sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink. The trick with stamping on Glossy card stock is to be careful to not slide the stamp slide on the slick surface to keep your image crisp.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I used a sentiment from Beautiful Day to turn this into a birthday card. I stamped the matching Tutti-Frutti Envelope with Heartfelt Blooms for a custom look.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps6

The Calypso Coral version:

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps7

Lemon Lime Twist. This card is an example of using a too-juicy ink pad. The image detail was lost because of too much ink on the rubber.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps13

Finally, my favorite card of the group! I loved the black-stamped image with the Daffodil Delight card base and ribbon!

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps14

The Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon coordinated great with the card base.

Stampin_up_heartfelt_blooms_carolpaynestamps15

After wrapping the ribbon around the card front I added the bow with glue dots. The Clear Faceted Gem is the flower center.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthday Cards January 14!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day Birthday Cards January 14!

Hey there! It's Sunday again, which means it's time for Sunday Sway Day! yay! If you are new to my blog, Sunday Swap Day is the regularly scheduled day when I share the swaps I receive in the swap group I participate in.

First, Christine Bertram used Big on Birthdays with Naturally Eclectic Designer Paper for her bold and bright card!

Stampin_up_big_on_birthdays_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping with Fresh Fig and  softly coloring the flowers with Blender Pens, she added shimmer with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Stampin_up_big_on_birthdays_carolpaynestamps2

She used a sentiment from Birthday Blossoms to complete the inside.

Stampin_up_birthday_blossoms_carolpaynestamps1

Next, in another month Christine created this free-standing box card using Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper, Bunch of Blossoms, and Sunshine Wishes Thinlets Dies.

Stampin_up_bunch_of_blossoms_carolpaynestamps1

She used Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, and So Saffron to complement the colors in the Delightful Daisy paper.

Stampin_up_bunch_of_blossoms_carolpaynestamps2

This card still fits inside a Medium Whisper White envelope!

Stampin_up_bunch_of_blossoms_carolpaynestamps3

She finished the remaining two panels with a Bunch of Blossoms sentiment and a Wisteria Wonder panel embossed with the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Folder.

Stampin_up_bunch_of_blossoms_carolpaynestamps4

Next, Amy Combs used Birthday Memories and Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper to create her birthday card.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps1

She simply punched the cake from Birthday Memories with a circle punch. Easy peasy! A circle of Fabulous Foil Designer Series Paper and a Metallic Foil Doily complete the Garden Green and Blushing Bride circles cut with Layering Circles Framelits. A Clear Faceted Gem finishes it off.

Stampin_up_happy_birthday_gorgeous_carolpaynestamps2

I think I should have called today "cards by Christine"! My final swap to share today is also by Christine Bertram! For this winter birthday card Christine stamped a background of varying blue snowflakes with the Colorful Seasons stamp set, layered on a silver Foil Snowflake (now retired) and added a Happy Birthday Gorgeous greeting cut with a circle punch and matted with Soft Sky punched with the Starburst Punch.

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day Butterfly!

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Day Butterfly!

Hey there! It's a beautiful day! Today we are going to Lando's 3rd birthday party! For a little less than a month, I have grandchildren ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! I hope we can get a picture of them all together soon before Darcy turns 3 on February 9th!

While I was in a "wisteria wonder mood" after creating the Lots of Lavender card for yesterday's post I used the same color palette to create this card with the Beautiful Day set!

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps1

Beautiful Day caught my eye immediately because it is featured on the cover of the Occasions catalog. I love the butterfly card!

12.01.17_SHAREABLE1_OCCASIONS_ENG

I used the Fluttering Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the butterfly background.

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps2

I rubbed the folder with the Wisteria Wonder ink pad before  I embossed the card stock to highlight the butterflies.

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps5

I heat embossed the Beautiful Day butterfly on vellum with white powder then cut it out with my Paper Snips.

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps3

I flipped the butterfly over and colored the backside of the heat embossed image with Pool Party and Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers. Stampin' Blends dry much faster on vellum than a Stampin' Write Marker would.

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps4

The greeting is from Beautiful Day, stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink on a strip of Whisper White. After cutting banner points on one end with Paper Snips, I pressed the edges of the banner into my Wisteria Wonder ink pad to add a little more color.

Stampin_up_beautiful_day_carolpaynestamps6

The dimensions of this card are 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8".  It's an easy fun fold that really takes no more card stock than a standard A2 size card. I added a Fluttering-embossed Wisteria Wonder layer to the inside, then added a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" white layer stamped with more Beautiful Day images.

Stampin’ Up! Lots of Lavender!

Stampin’ Up! Lots of Lavender!

Hey there! We are having a SNOW DAY in Southern Illinois! You wouldn't think this 58 year-old grandma would be so excited, but it's 16 degrees with about an inch of ice and a skittering of snow on top! Not to mention the wind is blowing fiercely! Mark has the wood stove burning merrily; sitting on the couch under my heated throw makes me thankful for a snug and cozy home! A snow day also means my daughter gets to stay home and love on her babies!

Now that I'm feeling better, (I still feel like I'm coughing up a lung about every other morning) I've finally had some mojo to play with my Sale-a-bration freebies. I played with the Lots of Lavender and Heartfelt Blooms sets to create this:

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps1

I created the loopy bow by winding the Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon around my hand about 5 times, then tied another piece of ribbon around the center of the loops tightly. after fanning out the loops I adhered the the card with a couple of glue dots.

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps2

The Lots of Lavendar stamp set is free with a $50 order from any current catalog. I stamped the bloom with Tuxedo Black Momento ink so I could both stamp it with the fill-in images from the set with Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz AND color the bow with a Light Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends Marker. I cut the layers with the Lots of Labels Framelits dies.

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps3

I love the fonts used in the Heartfelt Blooms set. They stamp very crisply on Whisper White!

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps4

I used one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders on the Wisteria Wonder layer, flipping the folder around after the first embossing so there would be both the positive and the negative impressions.

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps5

Inside I stamped and colored the lavender again, as well as another Heartfelt Blooms sentiment. I cut the white layer 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"to allow more of the embossed Wisteria Wonder layer to show.

Stampin_up_lots_of_lavendar_carolpaynestamps6

As a final touch on the inside and outside lavender I added Clear Wink of Stella for a bit of shimmer.

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Thursday!

Stampin’ Up! Sunday Swap Day on Thursday!

Hey there! So sorry for the late post. Last night when I was ready to start my post Typepad was completely down (something about a "TLC handshake" failing) so I just closed my computer and went to bed. I'm still working on recovering from the "choking crud", as one of my daughter's called it, without getting a sinus infection. So far, so good.

I also have a little problem with the most recent pictures I've taken of my most recent creations. If you remember, I've been having problems with my camera, ever since my grandkids got a hold of it during Christmas. I've been trying different settings to get it back to normal. It seemed like  a good idea to change a setting to "vivid"to correct the yellowness of my previous pics. In reality, "vivid" makes everything fluorescent! Greens, pinks, yellows, they all hurt your eyes with their "vividness"! I need to set up and take new pics with a better setting (I think I've got it figured out now).

So to be able to move forward with my day and with my blog post I'm sharing another set of cute swaps! I will be re-taking the pictures of my creations (and some more swaps) today so things should be back to normal tomorrow! lol!

First, an adorable folding baby card by Carol Slack! Carol used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper with the A Little Wild Bundle. Sooooo cute!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps1

After stamping the bear she cut him out with a Little Loves Framelits die. I love the little bee! You can't see in the pic but there's a touch of Clear Wink of Stella on the bee's wings!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps2

Another sweet touch is the tiny pearl she added to the flower center:

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps3

Fully opened reveals her use of the Sweetheart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, sponging around the heart with Blushing Bride ink!

Stampin_up_a_little_wild_carolpaynestamps4

Next, Ruth Bingle colored the bloom from Remarkable You with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Markers for a vibrant look! Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Basic Black combine for an elegant look!

Stampin_up_remarkable_you_carolpaynestamps1

Finally, Cindy Ewertz' creation with This Little Piggy! I love the Soft Sky paired with Whisper White and Smoky Slate for her color palette as a background for the Piggy colored with Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blends. The Petal Garden Designer Series Paper she used for the inside strip makes a gentle contrast to the Smoky Slate-stamped Hardwood background stamped on the front.

Stampin_up_this_little_piggy_carolpaynestamps1

Gorgeous!

Stampin’ Up! Bubbles & Fizz Mini Treat Bag Birthday Cards!

Stampin’ Up! Bubbles & Fizz Mini Treat Bag Birthday Cards!

Hey there! Today I am sharing the last of my Bubbles & Fizz-fest of creating back before the Christmas rush took over. Rest assured, I'm sure I'm not done creating with the Bubbles & Fizz Sale-a-bration paper or the Bubble Over Bundle, these are just the last for now!

I must admit, once I started making this Mini Treat-Bag-birthday-cards, I had a hard time figuring out when to stop! I ended up using just about every print from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper pack, and because I've already earned several FREE with $50 SAB orders, I had not one bit of guilt using up a pack!

This pack is so bright and happy, I love all of the prints! Stampin' Up! was soooooo smart to make this pack of paper to match the Bubble Over Bundle! Everyone is wanting to get their hands on it, so naturally they are placing orders of at least $50 to get it free!

The Bubble Over Bundle of stamps and framelits is the perfect place to start building your order.  At $40.50 for the bundle (saving 10%), you only have to add a couple more items to get the $50 order needed to choose the Bubbles & Fizz paper for free!

I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets Dies to create the fun pouch/bag for the simple card I stamped with the Stylized Birthday greeting using Bermuda Bay ink.

The Bottles & Bubbles Framelits that coordinate with the Bubble Over stamps have this cute little bottle cap die that cuts Silver Foil out perfectly for the top of the vellum "bottle" I sponged with Bermuda Bay or Calypso Coral ink. It was easy (and fun!) to stamp the bubbles & fizz around the bottle with the stamp in the set.

I let my imagination fly free combining the prints from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper to create the bags and to embellish the inside "card".  For this one I stamped the inside with the Birthday Wishes for You stamp.

The designs of the paper are mostly neutral; they can be used  for both sexes. I used the Circle Tab Punch to adhere to the top of the card insert with Tear & Tape Adhesive for extra strength when pulled. After stamping the tiny heart with Bermuda Bay ink I punched with the 3/4" Circle punch to fit inside the circle tab.

Big on Birthdays provided the greeting for this one. Aren't those rows of soda bottles absolutely adorable?

After creating the bellyband with a 1" x 8 1/2" strip of Bubbles & Fizz, I adhered it around the bag with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I even adhered the bellyband to the bag to help anchor the focal image circle cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelit.
