Bride to be!

Bride to be!

I'm sure right now you're thinkin', "wait a minute, this isn't Holiday Mini stuff!", and you're right, it isn't, but I'm pretty happy with this card and NEEDED to show it to you!

I CASED this cute card from a swap one of my downline, Angela, received at convention in July, so I don't know who the creator was,but it's so CUTE! I plan to make several of these (as soon as I get time, but wait, I have a bridal shower I need to send a gift to on Saturday, so I guess I'll get to make another one of these before then! yeah!) Several things are different from the original, although I kept the color scheme, Blushing Bride & Basic Gray, but added  a Basic Black cardbase to give it just a little more elegance and "pop"! If I remember correctly, the orginal did not have any embossing on it, but I added texture with the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. I do know that the original had these adorable pop-out paper rosettes that would be a pain to try to send through the post office, so I changed that feature up with flat punched Boho Blossoms and Basic Jewel Pearls. I was going for a bouquet look for the dot of the "i", do you think I achieved it? When I decided to make this card I went looking for the phrase in the set "Fabulouos Phrases", but did not find it, however, I DID find the single word "to" and "beautiful", so I just squished them together on my Clear Mount block and used my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to omit the rest of the word and just ink up "be"! Pretty cool what you can do with Clear Mount stamps and a marker, huh?

I kept the inside simple, most swaps are just the card front anyway, so I was on my own for that! But I think the phrase from "Heard from the Heart" and repeating the flower motif from the outside finished it off well, don't you think?

Tomorrow is a big day, finishing touches for the Holiday Mini Girls' Night Out at the Franklin County Hospital Conference Room from 6-9 p.m. We will be showcasing lots of new stuff  from the Holiday Mini, be giving away some cool doorprizes, a Grand Prize, and will have Holiday papercrafts for sale!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here's the Valentine I have enjoyed bringing to my stamping ladies the most this valentine season! It is just so vintage-y and valentine-y at the same time, I LOVE IT! I used the Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Folder, then sponged Crumb Cake ink on them to make the tulips really "pop"! I stamped the Occasions Mini "Be My Valentine" single stamp (still available until April 30th, so you can get it for next year if you don't already have it!) three times, the first two times in Cherry Cobbler, then once in Staz-on Black. One of the Cherry Cobbler hearts I cut out just around the heart, the second Cherry Cobbler one I punched a few times with the "Heart to Heart" punch to have some vintage-y hearts to sprinkle around my card, and the Staz-on Black one I cut out just the "BE MY VALENTINE" to pop up over the heart with dimensionals. I cut a Cherry Cobbler tag from the "Two Tags Die", then layered a piece of crumpled, Crumb Cake distressed "First Edition" Designer Paper over it. I added a slightly ruffled Early Espresso 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon piece over the First Edition, achieving the ruffled effect by attaching the ribbon to a piece of Sticky Strip and using a mini glue-dot to secure the single ruffle. The finishing touches were provided by "Victoria" Crochet Trim, a "Vintage Trinkets" safety pin, and "Basic Jewels Pearls"!

That's all I have time for today! My sweet hubby gave me advanced warning he is taking me out to eat tonight and I have lots to accomplish today before I can go!

Until tomorrow, have a Stampingrox! Day!
